Brian Bowen

How will he be eligible again??
You mean to tell me he went to Louisville on his own accord and not because someone in his family was paid?? Wow
This is Cliff Alexander 2.0…

Hey it got Cam Newton a NC, but Cliff wasn’t allowed to play SMH still pissed about that. NCAA has to write a discipline guide or something.

On the bright side this means no one is getting in serious trouble right? What a farce the great college hoops clean-up has been.

@kjayhawks It was HCBS who chose not to play Cliff to avoid a D Rose retroactive NCAA sanction for playing someone ineligible. NCAA never actually announced anything, probably because he announced for NBA. I know the loan arrangement came out, but without subpoena power to 3rd parties the NCAA couldn’t connect it to Cliff but no one could clear him either.
Bowen case may be less uncertain if the FBI has all the relevant financial and email records, and they may establish things like “Don’t tell the kid!”.
-
Cliff very likely would have stayed for year two if not for that loan crap.

I still have some questions. Why was Bowen listed in the probe if he’s now free of any wrongdoing?
Maybe he really didn’t do anything wrong but who’s going to believe that he went to Louisville on his own free will. Who? Anyone who followed his recruitment knows this was one of the stranger one’s you see yearly. He went from not on Louisville’s radar to committing to them in a few weeks span. How likely is it that Bowen is going to throw his father under the bus here just so he can play his one year and leave? If the NCAA lets him play then Emmert is correct, the NCAA can’t control anything anymore.
And if your Louisville why would you want Bowen playing for you. After all he’s apart of the domino effect for why they have a fired HOF coach, 2 assistance’s gone and pending further punishment.

Georgia Tech and Auburn holding back multiple players due to eligibility concerns. One related to the FBI probe. 3 of the 4 listed on NBA radar’s for next years draft…

His choice would have been Michigan State in a clean recruitment. Hell he wanted to pick them in a dirty recruitment where they were NOT willing to pay, but his dad wouldn’t have it. You probably already know this, mostly posted for those that don’t follow recruiting in general that much.

Avery Johnson at Alabama did not handle questions that well.
Just everything about how Self/KU have handled this makes me feel better.

Bowen won’t play at Louisville. They also fired their assistant officially.

@BeddieKU23 take him. It’s apparently only a one game suspension right?

Unless he hits a curb…
