Selden starting tonight

Heard Wayne was starting tonight, 7 central on espn
-
Nice dunk selden!
-
Selden has started 5 time already, 3 with NO and 2 with Memphis…
-
Selden getting owned by spurs! someone needs to remind him this ain’t the big 12.
-
If someone is going to talk about getting owned, it should be you; after all, who knows more about getting owned than you.

@JayHawkFanToo Gotta admit though, Selden did NOT look good against them. But he’s a rookie. Memphis must really have no one better, unless they’re just trying to pump up his value.
I think he’ll be fine, hopefully lands a long-term contract in the league. Didn’t look good against the Spurs though.
And I have no problem with someone pointing that out. Not sure how meaningful it is because it’s only a couple of games. But it does make me wonder why he’s getting so many playoff minutes.

Memphis has to have two way players against the Spurs. Tony Allen is a great defender, but his inability to shoot means teams outright do not cover him in the playoffs. Memphis trying to shake things up by starting Selden, but they are overmatched here.
-
@justanotherfan Parson’s injury sealed the Grizzlies fate long ago.
-
He did sign a two year contract with the Griz.

You have to look at all the numbers in context. The 3 guards that played for San Antonio and who Selden would have guarded in his 16 minutes of play scored: Green 12, Anderson 8 and Ginobile 0. So, while he did not score, his defense was not that bad. The main difference was Leonard who scored 37 points and the great disparity in fouls, 22 called on Memphis and only 13 on San Antonio. Memphis went 13 of 15 from the FT and San Antonio 31-32…that is an 18 point difference and I can understand why the Memphis Coach was so upset and went off on the refs after the game at the presser and it will probably cost him a hefty fine…

It’s called “being in the right place at the right time!”
I hope Wayne realizes this is a big break for him. He better not take it for granted because there is a lot of extreme talent sitting at home just wishing for a shot like he got!
BTW: Go, Wayne!

Selden had a good game last evening. 28 minutes, 10 points, 2-4 from 3, one highlight dunk and good defense.
