Bleacher Report says no Naismith for BIFM
-
What a load of crap. According to this, it’s Ball with his closest competitor being Swanigan for the Naismith Award.
-
@brooksmd his father helps?
-
Is there a way to vote on Naismith? It has a link on the Naismith page, but it is dead.
-
Prove em wrong BIFM, win the whole damn thing.
-
@drgnslayr Voting doesn’t open until tomorrow
-
Lol just lol. The winner of this award will go a long way to determine the validity of this award…
-
We’ve got to get all over that!
-
Bleacher report is a load of
.
-
Anybody post the Topeka cap journal story on Mason? It’s really good?
-
Help me with terminology… a “load” is a lot bigger than a “pile”, right?
If so… then I agree!
-
@BShark he already has proven it.
-
@brooksmd Bleacher Report…like I mentioned on another thread, they were deleted from my bookmarks due to irrelevancy.
-
Don’t recall the last time I was on that site. And never bookmarked. The Wikipedia of sports.
-
@drgnslayr Yes. Think of it this way: Dump (pun intended) trucks carry a load, and can distribute it in several piles, or one big pile.
You learn thinking like this at UM law school.

Makes you wonder if this clown is aware of the POY awards that BIFM has already snagged?
Fan voting info:
“This year, fans have a say in the choosing the winner. Between March 20-31 fans can visit www.naismithtrophy.com/vote to cast their ballot for one of these four Naismith Trophy finalists. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31 and fans are limited to one vote per day. The fan vote will account for 5 percent of the total vote.”
-
Did frank win some award from BR?
-
haha Ball playing for a team in one of the biggest bball conferences in the nation. Yet the PAC is pretty much the weakest conference when compared to other conferences.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I thought he did and after some digging I found it: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2696244-bleacher-reports-2016-17-college-basketball-awards
Bleacher Report POY
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Makes you wonder if daddy made it worth while for this DA to write that BS.
-
@brooksmd We know who is deserving. I’m sure Frank will sacrifice individual hardware for the grand prize.
-
Where does BIFM come from? I’ve assumed it’s the B word. Not sure why we’d want to call him that.

This has come up a few times. BIFM stands for “B-- I’m Frank Mason” and was a rap song written in tribute to him (last year, I think, but could have been years ago) by someone I admit I have never heard of.
-
Thanks. Maybe it’s working where I do, but I tire of that word and so many similar words.
-
@wissox Oh, and not calling him that. Announcing his arrival and intent to make the players on the other team his b–ches.
-
There was a sequel this year, and it’s hilarious/awesome.

The use in this case is non-gender specific. More of a way of saying, “Hey (insert any insulting label)! You underestimated me and here I am!” Perfect for Frank, me thinks. But, if the word causes cringing, you might want to avoid the movie “Pitch Perfect” with Anna Kendrick…
-
Let’s win this thing for Frank.
“Throughout this season we realized that there would be numerous candidates worthy of the Naismith Trophy, so for these four individuals to emerge as finalists, it says a great deal about their drive, determination and leadership,” said Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club. “Their performances in the tournament will go a long way in determining the winner.”
-
@brooksmd That doesn’t make any sense. Bleacher Report gave Frank the POY nod for their own award
-
@approxinfinity So that should eliminate the kid from Nova.

Bleacher Report did, but this idiot writer may have his own perspective.
-
@brooksmd I think it does. It seems to me they’re trying to validate giving it to Ball, but can’t do it as long as KU is still alive and Mason is playing well.
-
@mayjay And as I mentioned, some financial reward from daddy Ball. He’s about as slimy as they come.
-
Lets hope UCLA loses THIS weekend, so that the world can see Mason next weekend, and not Ball.
-
I think everyone knows who the POY is. Even the announcers are on board and we get very little attention.
-
No one can stop FMIII from 20 and 5. And key rebounds. Its not a broken record. Frank will keep singing the same tune until the whole world listens. He simply does what he does.
-
Just admitting that should take away him from winning it!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yup I posted it in the Mason thread last night
