BBN a rare breed?
"Rare" doesn't imply quality.... just uniqueness... including bad!
I could be way off base here... but I have a feeling Self hasn't shown his hand yet. I've heard all the rumors we have maxed out on our $14-$15mil budget (if that is the amount). It just makes no sense Self would come back for this year with that budget... a budget limiting us to a middle-of-the-pack roster. Maybe we need the current drama to play out a bit more so we can get a late donor or two to kick in some big bucks. We could do some real damage with another $5mil to spend. There are plenty of nice pieces left. I wouldn't mind pairing Momcilovic with Stokes. Imagine Stokes hard drives and pass outs to Milan for the easy trey. My biggest concern is at the 5.
Last, Self is the master of picking up someone special late in the game. He's done it before... but we do have to have financial incentive available.
I see Bashir as an option if we are down to spending very little. Isn't his defense in question?

Yes

color me skeptical that bill would give bashir serious minutes. Better shooter than Dawson but he's just a horrible defender
-
The question is: does he have the potential to develop into a serviceable defender with the right coaching?
-
Juke Harris to Tennessee - after already adding Hill, Ames, Lundblade, and Haralson - all of whom are arguably better than our 3. Does Tennessee really have a much bigger budget? Or, are we waiting in the hope to land someone who pulls out of the draft, e.g., Momcilovic?
-
I don't know... seems like we gave up on playing defense anyways after our last nattie. The exception being Flory. Even Flory didn't go after every ball. Granted, he was also trying to stay out of foul trouble.

Dennis Parker will be transfer to ku -
Parker had 53 pts in a game this year. Played 2 years at NC State prior. I like this addition.
-
Had 23, 10 and 18 against UNC, South Carolina and SMU respectively. Seems to be a good rebounder.
Wasn’t the most efficient those games but a sign he can score at this level.
Wouldn’t say he isn’t athletic but he is no Dawes. If I had to guess he would be a backup to Dawes.
Rotation is going to be interesting. I imagine we see a lot of Dawes at the 5 with how this is shaping out.
-
He is a good player but I am not sure he is a good fit with Bill Self. I think there is a very real chance he has a Jayden Dawson type season
-
I think he's a better take than bashir because it's 50/50 whether he has a Dawson type season, whereas I'm pretty sure bashir would've been a lock for that type of season

Passes the bar to get out on the floor for Bill at the very least. I don't think Bashir did and there was a real big chance Bashir would have been racking up conference DNPs. Quality depth for the 3/4.
-
@Jayhawk_69 Far better rebounder and defender.
-
Anybody know if Will Thengvall is still on the roster? I’ve included him above, but other sites don’t mention him.
-
Parker gives us a couple things. Insurance in case Kohl doesn’t get much better and positional versatility that allows us to go small without being absolute ass on the boards. Dawes, Stokes, and Parker can get on the glass when we go small.
-
Believe we are done with meaningful additions barring a miracle.
-
Given that people are not very enthused about Kinney starting, why couldn't Parker start? Stokes has the quickness, ball-handling, and passing skills to play the 2. Imagine a starting lineup of Blyden, Stokes, Parker, Dawes, and Reeves. That lineup would be elite in terms of size and athleticism plus it could also shoot pretty well. Then a bench of Kinney, Rosario, and Mbiya would be the best bench we have had in a long time.
-
Here's what Creighton Coover put together after Parker was added:
Projected Starters:
T Kinney
L Blyden
T Stokes
K Dawes
C Reeves
Primary Bench:
D Parker Jr.
K Rosario
P Mbiya
D Adkins
Depth:
L Barnett
T Perry
G Mordini
