That was a risky play call on that 3rd down, perfect execution. Great game by Jason and the defense was pretty salty til they got tired and some of that is just the depth we don’t have.

This is a huge win for Kansas. Clinching a winning record for the first time in 15 years and a road win against what’s likely going to be a bowl team from the Big 12 in a very long time.

We were actually 3 point dogs in this one. I got to give credit to Defensive Coordinator Brian Borland. I was thinking this was a lake or break year for him with the defense being one of the worse in CFB the last 2 years. Still can see some depth issues but that expected with our current talent group.

@Crimsonorblue22 we will be a top 20 team come Tuesday. Swept KSU volleyball so they will stay in the top 20 and Basketball is obviously number 1 for now.

But really it will probably depend on what some teams ahead of us do. If USC loses to Washington tonight for example.

We likely jump Notre Dame since they’ve already lost. If USC loses, we’ll jump them. We should also be cheering for Colorado and Arizona to win tonight as well and KU could potentially jump up several spots.

We should jump OU IMO, same record and we beat them recently. I personally think the B12 doesn’t have a top 10 team, Maybe a healthy Texas. We actually need help getting to Arlington at this point, even winning out we need losses for Texas and OSU.

Just had to strap it up. Hardly anyone was giving us a chance to win. I actually thought we had a decent chance -BUT I also thought we would be able to run the ball.- -Jason Bean needs a little love, nothing fancy , spectular, just solid tonight
Have a chance for a really good Season. I think 9 wins is for sure withing our reach.- - K/State is going to be hard , but Texas Tech & Cincinnati very otainable.
I know also that we better batten down the forth and do whatever w need to do to hang onto our Coach - -and this staff-- they gonna be coming trying to take Coach. Whatever it takes

Side note it was nice to have a game in November in Ames that wasn’t in frigid temperatures with a wind.

How about Jason Bean? This guy has almost made us forget about Jalon Daniels. He keeps doing things like beating OU for the first time since Clinton (Bill, not Hillary), beating ISU for the first time since Bush. Although the announcers couldn’t stop talking about the freshman QB for the Tornados Jason was making clutch play after clutch play. The touch on some of those throws, while not surprising, was sublime. He was robbed out of another TD pass by a non PI call which Grimm would have strolled into the end zone with ease had he not been held.
While I complained about the refs they did say the dude stepped out of bounds after the long kick return even though none of us saw it. After that long return our D held, forced a punt. Big time D. When momentum was on ISU’s and ESPNs side and they were driving to a TD to make it a 3 point game, the D stiffened and forced a FG. Huge play, giving us some breathing room that even if we couldn’t run down the clock they’d only be competing for a tying TD instead of either a go ahead TD or tying FG.
Yeah, ISU played like a bunch of losers who realized the only way to beat us was to try to hurt us.

KU needs two losses from each which is unlikely because each has the tiebreaker over KU.

I’m going to fondly remember Big Play Jared Casey as one of my favorite Jayhawks. That first down catch sealed the win. Awkward pass from Bean, but Big Play Casey hauled it in. Now KU gets TT Red Raiders at home next Saturday. I’m fine with Jason Bean and I no longer pay any attention to speculation about Jalen’s back injury. This is Bean’s team and Bean’s season.
