BIG fans have a lot of respect for Penn St. coach Shrewsberry. He’s just a very down to earth, even keeled type, and even in defeat says the right things. I’m guessing he might get lured away from Happy Valley, because PSU fans are like SEC fans, they don’t care about their basketball team all that much. Attendance is low there. Lots of empty seats behind baskets even when one of the bigger name teams is in town.

Early release day today so we can finish 3rd quarter grades. Perfect timing to watch bball in my room til 3:10, (while, in case my boss sees this) working at completing all grades.

Fran is one of the least friendly coaches out there. And hey look no one says you have to be friendly but he is one that can’t even pretend to smile. Gregggg Marshall, Gard and Boeheim are also on that list in terms of guys I’ve ran into. Bruce honestly isn’t a bad guy, just super awkward. Boynton at OSU is a good dude but I wonder if OSU will be running out of patience there.
ETA: I loved Roy too. Just consistently a good dude. Most of my interactions there were when I was a kid.

@BShark Funny thing is I hated Madden as a coach. But his TV made him extremely likeable. I’ve never really met a D1 coach that I can think of. I did ask Larry Brown for a picture as he was sitting on a folding chair 2 hours before game time watching guys shoot. But didn’t talk, really appeared to have no interest in talking.

@wissox One of the best settings for it is the final four. Usually a lot of coaches hanging around.

I actually think Fleck is probably a cool guy to hang around. By all accounts away from the court McCaffery is a very cheritable good guy who raises a lot of money for cancer research. But goodness on the court, there’s hardly ever been anyone so unlikeable.

That was a wild loss. We proceeded to whip them without Norm and without Kevin the 2nd half of the big 12 tournament game.
I think they had Grill both regular season games against us? He was big for their spacing…

Iowa State I think still wins this, just ripped off a 17-4 run. TJ is a good coach, if they are within 6-8 at the break I wouldn’t count them out. They need a ton of open looks and haven’t gotten one call.

@BShark Yep if you told me Pitt scored 60-65 like they probably end up scoring I’d say ISU wins going away, also why I thought they were fine down 7 at the half figured the law of averages would kick in shooting wise.
