2026 KU Season

I didn't realize the entire field, including the pitching mound and batters box is synthetic. Batters no longer get to rub out the lines for the batters box and pitchers don't get to rub dirt on whatever. I wonder how the lack of dirt affects runners sliding? Fans no longer get to eat a little dust on windy days.

@nuleafjhawk If that's what it makes you, what does the fact that I never slid even on grass in my life (some 35 years of softball) make me? I had this odd desire to not screw up my legs....

I know we have made the CWS before but this the biggest win in the history of Hoglund ballpark and becomes one of, if not the best season in the history of Kansas baseball.

Playing on turf in high school would have robbed me of a wicked bad hop that gave me the shiner of my life. Being it was the late 70's the coach really didn't care as I walked away to the school to call home. He was kind of a jerk.

OU and Georgia Tech tied in the bottom of the 9th. If OU wins, KU will host the Super Regional this weekend.

OU had a runner on third with 2 outs and their batter struck out on 3 pitches so now we're going to extra innings.

W Virg sure has a nice stadium. It looks like a minor league field and stadium. And it sure looks like dirt on the mound and base paths.

OK OU won. So KU gets a Super Regional?

OU with a walk off homer in the bottom of the 10th to knock out #2 Georgia Tech. KU will be hosting a Super Regional against OU this weekend!!!
