No matter what team you pull for
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yes, he has. Guess his decision to “protect his health” by not getting vaxxed suddenly became less important once going to a contender was possible.
I have loved this guy since he played for SC and won the CWS. But the disrespect for his KC teammates is just sad.
-
@mayjay I saw him play in Baton Rouge a few times!
-

Yankees 4 games below .500 since the beginning of July.
struggling in every phase of the game. Of Course hard to keep up the pace they had - -got some pitchers hurt but big thing is they are just not hitting . Of course just about every club goes through a stretch in a 162 game season , they got to get this straightened out
-
I wish I had been watching the Royals game tonight. Pratto with a walkoff hr. The rooks are fun! Saw a replay!
-
-
I actually like Royals lineup, several rookies playing and contributing, hopeful for the future.
-
KC rookies are playing with hunger and energy, great to see.
-
@AsadZ The young’uns sure looked impressive Wednesday night. Glad they got to do it on a national TV platform. With no pressure on them, I can see the Royals doing some damage to a few teams’ playoff hopes.
Also good to see them knock the well-traveled Mr. Cueto out of the game.
Speaking of well-traveled ex-Royals, Carlos Santana hit a two-run homer to beat the Yanks Wednesday. (Benintendi struck out in his only at bat.)
-
@nwhawkfan they remind me of the young guys, hoz, lo Cain, moose, Gordo, and esky.
-
The energy amongst KC rookies is infectious.
-
Fun game today!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 White Sox are toast. Losing 3 of 4 without Tim Anderson playing proves it.
-
@wissox these young kids have added so much energy to the game! They are having fun!
-
Now that I think about it, unvaxed KC players not playing in Toronto was a blessing in disguise for Royals.
It forced Management’s hand to bring several rookies and provided confidence to players that they can play at this level.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 As long as we’re talking about “young kids,” apparently I missed the news about the off-season retirement of the once highly touted local phenom Bubba Starling, who just celebrated his “milestone” 30th birthday.
As someone who just celebrated a milestone birthday myself (more like a millstone in my case), I’d wondered whether the Royals had just given up on him and let him languish in Omaha. What ended his career? Injuries? Weak hitting/fielding? All of the above?
-
Dodgers at Royals will be a great measure of how the Royals are playing. Dodgers are over .700.
-
@nwhawkfan Wikipedia doesn’t indicate any injuries directly causing the end (did have a number of them, though). Only played in 91 games across 2 seasons, batting .204 with 17 RBIs. Last appeared in Sept 2020. Looks like he just couldn’t hit MLB pitching. Got to keep that $7.5 mil, however!
-
@nwhawkfan just was done. Wondered if he wished he had chosen Nebraska fb. Kid was an stud athlete.
-
@Gorilla72 They held up until 7th but bullpen could not hold the fort. Lynch was solid, got out of several jams.
-
Royals shut down mighty Dodgers.
Singer has been a different pitcher since returning from Minors, his stuff is electric and needs to keep pitching with confidence and in attack mode.
-
Be nice if the Royals could beat the Twins right now!
-
AL Wild card race is a real dogfight, and looks to stay that way up to the end of the season. Seven teams fighting for three spots. Lots of scoreboard watching going on.
-
@nwhawkfan AL Central could be a 3 way tie after tonight. Guardians losing again to Detroit. Sox losing, but just by 1 after 4.
-
Yankees 11-22 since July 9, 3rd worst in baseball in that time.

Going into tonight 8-16 since the All Star break - , you talk about a clean 360. I mean i know you have a hitter or two hitters in a slump, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an entire team go into a hitting slump at the same time. I’m sure there are those of you loving and thats fine, these guys getting paid huge money to produce and not doing nothing. - Going into tonight I think they have scored ONE run in the laast 27 innings. they deserve the ridicule.
It’s ok as a TRUE fan no matter the team you stay with the team through good times and bad times – -no closet fan here it is what it is and they Suck right now. It’s not the pitching staff it’s is they are JUST NOT HITTING THE BALL I mean jumpin - - -Gee - - hossie - -toads. - At this rate they aren’t even going to win the division. But I’ll continue to pull for them I just keep wondering when it is going to end lol. – Kind of like cheering for KU football - - I’m going to root for them good times - - -bad times, the difference between a loyal true fan AND A CLOSET FAN
8-16 PUTS THEM AT THE 2ND WORST RECORD ONLY IN FRONT OF dETROIT LOL
-
Rough road trip for the Royals.
Can the Yanks bounce back, frustration is high in Bronx.

Neve seen an entire team go in a hitting slump at the same time. - 12- 25 -I don’t think no world series but now believe they won’t even win division
-
Speaking of slumps, with all the gloom and doom surrounding the Yankees these days, one thing they have going for them is the recent mediocrity of the rest of the league, save the Astros.
As bad as they’ve been lately they’re still eight games ahead of the Rays and the Jays in the AL East, and still have time to turn things around. And if you look at the “last 10” column in the standings, only Tampa Bay has been better than 6 and 4.
While it’s always possible for a team to go on a consistent run, I wouldn’t bet the farm on anybody else in that division, as long as they continue to beat each other up.
The playoffs are another matter though.
-
Albert Pujols is on an absolute heater right now. Since the All-Star break, he’s hit .449/.500/.939 (leads MLB with 298 wRC+) with seven homers in 54 PA, and since the start of July, he’s hit .378/.429/.769 (229 wRC+) with nine homers in 91 PA. Hit #693 tonight. 700 is very doable all the sudden!
-
@FarmerJayhawk My daughter was in Wrigley last night and saw him homer.
-
Singer has been become an ace, rest of the starters have been mediocre at best.
Ever since coming back from Minors he has been a dominating pitcher.
-
Well as my boys continue to lose , at least got to see Aaron blast his 50 th HR last night . - Starting to get crazy/serious -might just maybe see history be broken , Maris record might get taken. - As he ges closer it’s crazy as starting to see even opposing fans cheer really loud when it happens. - - I was kinda mad early lat night as the first two time Aaron came up to bat- - The Angels Manager didn’t even give him the chance , it was an Automatic walk intentional. - At the time I thought was pretty poor showmanship , but in a way I can see he wasn’t going t give him the opportunity to beat them - - that’s the ultimate respect. So the 3rd time he comes up - -they chose to pitch to him and he cranks it out of the park - just crushed it. Like the announces was saying before the game – Aaron is not going to see any pitch to hit - I think you will start seeing him Automatically walked alot more
-
@jayballer67 I like Aaron Judge, and even most of the Yankees for that matter. DJ is a friends cousin actually so I cheer for him. Nestor’s a great rags to riches story as well. Stanton rubs me wrong, reminds me a bit of Dave Kingman who liked to hit tape measure shot homers but missed the ball a lot. It’d be cool to see Aaron make to 60 this year.
-
@AsadZ Well he gets the struggling Sox tonight as my underachieving team tries to hang in there. We need a new manager in the worst kind of way.
-
Too bad for Sox to face Singer, Royals only credible starter.
Sox can trade for Matheney, LoL
-
Pratto!

Oh thats cool DJ is a friend of your Cousin , I like DJ the guy just hits the ball all over the field , key hits. Litle down right now but I think he is a really good guy.- I really have no feeling on Stanton one way or the other really, Your right he likes to hi the tape measure HR’S but there a lot of those but I understand. Only thing about him for me is he sure gets hurt a lot not sure if he has been worth the money.
There is now beginning to be talk about Aaron and the REAL record for HR’S , they including Sosa , Bonds with the 70 ? right ? - -I realize they have the Major league record - I don’t think that is what most the media talking about - -they talking about the American league and Maris record - -also I think they talking about how Sosa & Bonds kind of being tainted with the PED’S - I just hope he can hit 62 , who knows. He has a shot 12 to go with like 31 games to go. - -I think he is going to see less and less chances to hit, they gonna walk more like the Angels did which I think is not good but yet I can see their points sa they are trying to win the games for their teams - - -we will see
-
Thanks Royals! 2 in the bottom of the 9th off of Clevelands great reliever. We pull within two of Cleveland.
-
Welcome! I missed it. Salvy!
-
Wissox, Who do you think will win AL Central?
-
@AsadZ Isn’t it really, “Which team will be the unworst loser in the ALC?”
-
@AsadZ Minnesota and Cleveland still have 8 games together. We have 4 against those teams combined I believe. While they’re beating up on each other this weekend, we have four at AL worst Oakland, then lousy Colorado comes to town. We’ve got two series with Detroit still. The schedule makers have favored us with a soft finish. Tim Anderson comes back soon, we’ll be the healthiest we’ve been all year when he returns.
Tony LaRussa isn’t managing right now, but if he returns well, I’m not wild with the thought of us in the playoffs, but if he doesn’t I like our chances better.
-
@wissox I keep forgetting that to you the word “we” means Chicago White Sox, or those badger critters from up north. Sometimes in context of bb I know you mean KU.
Anyway, I was about to go to ESPN because I had no idea the Royals had a chance for the post-season. Then I remembered the many universes in which you have those varying loyalties. So, drat.
-
@mayjay Sorry to foment confusion! I was asked whom do I think wins the Central so the we kicked in.
-
Congrats to Albert Pujols for passing A-Rod

700 could actually happen!

@KirkIsMyHinrich It’s pretty disgusting to see A-Rod’s name up there along with other juicers including all of the current and past New York Yankee players!

I think you will find this article interesting about the Royals’ trouble developing pitchers:

I was fortunate to get to yesterday’s game at Fenway Park.
With Singer on the mound, I had hope that Royals can keep the game close.
Royals surprised me by scoring 9 runs and got a dub with a shutout.
It was a beautiful evening and fun time to be at Fenway.
-
@AsadZ great fun!
