Well if we don’t hear anything over the weekend - - Things should really start rolling next week Football AND Basketball. These kids have until May 1st i guess they have to submit in writing stating about transferring through poral to the School. - If they don’t get that done then they ar not immediately eligible unless waiver possibly ? - -Things should pick up for sure next week

JCL didnt get the role a 1500 point scorer might have expected. Never seemed once to complain or suffer because of it. Team player and wearing a championship ring. Would love to see him catch on as a coach.

As I remember JCL has 2 masters degrees in finance and computer something or other. I think he has developed a software program for teaching college kids about handling their money, and is using it with athletes. I think it was a KC Star article, but my subscription has lapsed so cannot check the details.

UVA is older info. I’ll ask again about Ricky, when did they land the PG? I know they were gonna add Collins but they either struck out or must have told him they got someone else.

Yup Key, Tech really wanted him. Barnes still has Zeigler the little freshman guard that played a ton & while Vescovi is testing I can’t imagine he’ll get drafted.

Former 4 star PG Corey Floyd committed to Providence. Spent the year practicing at UConn.
Former West Virginia starter Sean McNeil is headed to Ohio St
Transfer PG Tyreke Key headed to Tennessee. Texas Tech among others was hot on his trail.
Ohio PF transfer Ben Vander Pas headed to Virginia. Iowa St really wanted him
Caleb Lohner from BYU transferring to Baylor
Nigel Pack gets an 800k NIL deal to play at Miami.

One of the other schools involved is worried they don’t have a shot because KU just about has him locked up. Friend of a friend on their coaching staff (I’m getting old lol). Hunter really wants to play for a blue blood and we having a starting spot open at the 2G and can meet (will probably exceed honestly) the number he was looking for in terms of NIL.

So if I were a guessing guy I would have to say if we can land Tyresse Hunter & Ricky Council - not sure do they both play the same position ? - Anyways if not if we landed both we would have to call that a very sweet Portal.

IF & This isn’t happening but IF he said IF both Wilson and Braun returned and no one transferred out that KU would be full and have no scholi available - -but take it to the bank be willing to bet that Christan & Jaeln BOTH are gone

Bobby isn’t going anywhere. Getting Hunter would give Bobby another year to develop w/o having to start.
Believe Cuffe will be asked to leave. Joe could see the writing on the wall as well but idk. Sounding like KJ will stay.

Hunter is a true guard and Ricky is more of a wing/4 for us. I think this combination would fit the bill that Self talked about. That said, not sure how far along things are with Ricky. Not as far as Hunter I believe.

I don’t think Bobby is going anywhere.
I do think we are in jeopardy of losing Yes, although I think recruiting him back is big because I could see Hunter only being here 1 year. So I think there is room on the roster to keep him if he’s willing to stay. With minutes available to him the next season. But he has no path to start here ever no matter what he does. He could become a 60% 3pt shooter and Bill is going to play Bobby and Harris over him. So I have to think the only way he stays is if he likes winning, NIL takes care of him, and that he knows he is likely to have a pro career overseas which KU helps guys get started on. He can grad transfer after this next season too. I’d also be interested in seeing him redshirt this season and spend an entire season just developing his game. Keep two years of eligibility. If after his RS season there is still no path to PT he can transfer and still have 2 years of eligibility. This is my hope, but it feels like a pipe dream…
If we close on Hunter, I think you’ll also see another wing added to the roster after the NBA combine is over. Mosely/Council/Dennis are the names I’m guessing on. Probably would prioritize them in that order.
