Got popped in Orange County (Chapel Hill, Hillsborough) instead of Durham too. Awk.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 It’ll be interesting to see how Coach K handles this compared to Coach Self in the Wilson case. He could suspend him for a game or two, or argue that he only “aided and abetted” his grandson and give him a slap on the wrist. Splitting hairs perhaps, but I’ll bet it’s the latter.
-
Paolo will get suspended for minutes, I’m telling you. Minutes!
-
@FarmerJayhawk No doubt a stern talking to will be had as well.
-
He’ll fall on the floor, “my back”
-
@FarmerJayhawk did he not play in the last game?

Going out like a weak chump, let the University handle the matter. That’s that leader of young men that I was talking about a little over a week ago.
-
@BeddieKU23 Badgers were up against it without Jonathan Davis. He’s a pretty decent guard/forward hybrid. His scoring was sorely missed and we really couldn’t find buckets in that game. I’m not familiar enough with Crowl and Carlson to know. It was the first game i could watch, and neither played much last season. Crowl is supposed to be a stretch four, but his wide open threes were barely drawing front of the iron. He’s been decent so far against a couple of lightweights but struggled for sure last night.
-
A couple of things about watching other games tonight .
!st I didn’t know I think they showed since 2018 the 3 top winningest teams was 1 - - Gonzaga - - -2 Houston - -& 3 Virginia -had no idea.
2nd. I don’t get this and I officiated for like 15 yrs but watching the Kentucky game, And Cal being Cal. -Kentucky player got a block called on him and Cal wasn’t happy with that at all - So during a timeout Cal left not only the Coaching box but walked clear out underneath the basket inside the restricted circle and was beefing with the Ref. - Nothing was done - -Not a T nothing
I know as an official live situation or dead ball situation nobody is to come onto the floor especially that far as under the basket and confront an official about a call - no violently -BUT STILL out on the floor , in that situation and that far off the Bench and on the flor that is trying to show an official up - that’s not going to get you any where just intimidation - -Tha’ts Cal - not quite sure why he got no T
-
UNC still not good. Down by 5 at Charleston
-
Heels managed to pull it out. Michigan not so lucky as Seton Hall comes back to win.
And Oregon gets absolutely clobbered as BYU goes into Portland and beats the Ducks by 32.
-
Seton Hall looked like an underrated team coming into the season. Veteran roster there with lots of size so not surprised they knocked off a young Michigan team. The Oregon drubbing was not expected especially at home. That’s a really bad loss.
-
Looks like a bit of a rebuild year for Wisconsin, very young team. Yeah Davis was avg 15 a game, why did he miss the game?
-
The people who voted Virginia in the Top 25 need to find a new hobby!

Did you see Oregon last night? LMAO

I watched the 1st half of that. I take it they got beat

Did N Carolina end up getting beat or did they win ?

Jumpin - - gee - - hossie - -toads - -32 points at home - - WOW
-
@BeddieKU23 some sort of mysterious “lower body injury”. Your guess is as good as mine as to what that means.

UNC won by 11

Absolutely correct, except wrong root. Take off the s, and pronounce with a long i and a long u, as in “a minute punishment.”
-
@BeddieKU23 Technically a neutral court loss since they played in Portland and not Eugene. Still, that’s the equivalent of a bad KU loss at Sprint (oops, T-Mobile) Center.
-
Maryland taken down by 2005 darling George Mason. Turg aint gonna be happy. Jury is still out on one my Jayhawk Favs if can really take MD to the promised land.
-
This NCSU/OSU game is brutal. Neither team is at 40% from the floor. 31-27 with 18:19 to go
-
Michigan St beats Butler by 21 on the road. Michigan St seems decent.
-
Joey Hauser sucks though. Malik Hall should be starting.
-
Ugly game of the year candidate. VCU 48 Vandy 37.
-
I was just going to post the same thing. That score hurt my eyes
-
Few observations watching Baylor last night.
They may not fall off at all this season. They have 3 guards (Akinjo, Flagler, Cryer) that so far are mimicking what Butler/Mitchell/Flagler did last year.
LJ Cryer has really improved. Back to back 20 point games.
Jeremy Sochan a 6’9 freshman forward is a stud. Kendall Brown is as advertised. Hate seeing him in a Baylor Jersey.
Their defense is really good again.
They haven’t played anyone yet. Central Arkansas looked like a D3 school.
-
Heard on Twitter that Juan may not start once Wilson is back. Self also said that Wilson might not start.
I personally hope Wilson doesn’t start. It’s a character comparison vrs rat face.

What is Meyer looking l.ike ?- -is he starting now ? Looks like it might be a real dog fight between KU , Baylor , & Texas
-
@BeddieKU23 I’ve been on this train for a while. I don’t think they’ll be as good as last season because I don’t think any of their guards is close to being as good as Davion Mitchell, but their team is still really good. Akinjo, Flagler, Brown, Mayer, Thamba starting with Cryer, Dainja, Sochan, and JTT off the bench.

Yeah he’s starting. One of their leaders and scoring options. Terrible hair still with that mullet going on.
Starting 5 so far has been Flagler/Akinjo/Meyer in the backcourt. Using Brown at the 4 & Thamba inside. Cryer, Sochan & ChimyChanga are the main 3 subs. They use another guard Bonner (Juco kid) due to the Langston Love injury.

It’s early of course and they have played 3 sisters of the poor but the things that stuck out to me
-
no drop off in guard play so far after losing 3 studs
-
defense is just as aggressive & effective as it was last season
-
easy to see winning culture and chemistry exists even with new guys in the lineup
I agree they are not as good as last year but the drop off so far is minimal. The season ending injury to Langston Love limits their ceiling a bit I think. He was a big time scorer in HS. However Brown & Sochan are NBA guys & the emergence of LJ Cryer has raised their potential a good bit. They look like a E8/F4 contender. I don’t think they can win it all.
-
-
@BeddieKU23 Yeah Baylor has next level scheduling bad teams strat. It might not look like it to some people but they schedule much worse competition from those lower leagues than schools like KU do. They also tend to have some games that count against actual D2 comp every year.

I believe the offense is probably about as good as last season, but I’m skeptical about the defense. Mitchell and Vital were two of the best defenders I’ve ever seen in college basketball. I don’t think they’re going to be as good defensively, and that’s probably where the drop-off will be.
-
-
Agree Vital & Mitchell were elite level defenders. They had 21 steals last night but they played what looked like one of the worst teams in D-1. So far I see little drop-off from their defense but I do think that changes when they play real teams.
-
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, the game is easier when you physically outmatch the opponent at every position.
-
Watched the end of the Oklahoma game vs. Indiana State. Didn’t realize OU has the Groves Bros. from Eastern Washington…thought we were rid of them.
Not to mention Porter Moser (ex-Loyola-Chicago) as coach. Could be scary in Big XII play.
Tanner (the one with the beard) had 24 points on 10 of 15 from the field, and 8 boards. 11 points off the bench from brother Jacob.
-
Home town refs for the Dook game. Also no mention of a DUI
-
@rockchalkwyo To be fair, we have some home town refs too!
-
@wissox I know I know. I’m immature ok
