Marcus Garrett
-
Marcus Garrett has signed a free agent deal with the Miami Heat. The last two Jayhawks who played with the Heat won NBA titles (Chalmers and Simien) so maybe Garrett continues that trend.
-
That’s a great landing spot for Marcus. The Heat have great player development resources so he has a chance to improve in the ways that he needs to in order to be an impact player at the NBA level.
-
@justanotherfan yep. And Riley loves him some D.
-
@justanotherfan Spoelstra is a really great coach, imo.
-
Everyone does need to remember the only thing Garrett is guaranteed of at this point is a spot on the Heat"s Summer League roster. If he does well enough then, he’ll very likely be on a two-way contract which means he’ll likely be in the G-League for most of the season.
-
Garrett is the type that can steal the show in the summer league.
-
Great news for Garrett!

I completely agree. The difference is the Heat have a very good development system, as opposed to other franchises (Sacramento, Orlando, Washington, Minnesota, etc.) that do not have good development systems. For Marcus to land with a team like the Heat, he could improve. With some of those other teams, that is less likely, meaning he would be unlikely to ever make it to the NBA, with that team or any other.
-
In his debut with his summer league team he had 10 points He was 4 of 6 from the field goal area and had 5 steals and 3 rebounds And to assist And played 22 minutes
-
MG plays at 7 on espnU, Doke nbatv at 8, forgot Malik, at 6 nbatv
-
tonight he ended up with 11 Point 10 rebounds Is for assist and 3 steals play 28 minutes
-
Marcus Garrett has signed a 2-way contract with the Heat.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 nice!
-
Go, Marcus!!!
-
All the best Marcus.
-
The way I understand it, that two-way contract means he’ll be bouncing back and forth between Miami and their G-League team in Sioux Falls.
Better beef up that wardrobe Marcus !
