@bskeet We beat 2 of those 4 #1 seeds.

We are seeing what kind of team this is, everything that was built has unraveled and happened quickly. If the only time they can play well is at home their fate will find a swift exit next week and the following one.
Officiating hit a new low last night but having 1 coach ejected and another T'd up before halftime is unacceptable and controllable behavior.
There seems to be stuff going on behind the scenes that we are not seeing that are playing out on the floor. Not connected, guys are playing me ball and you're not seeing the energy on either side of the ball. This is truly shocking to see after so much growth and development from this bunch.

we actually rebounded the ball super well. Im honestly still speechless at how destructive elmarko was

KSU will be coming in on a high after swatting West Virginia. It's perplexing and I'm not just talking about officiating. I am intrigued about what Bill, Jacque, Tre, Melvin, Flory, Darryn, Bryson Elmarko, Jamari, Kohl and Doctor Allen are thinking this morning. I hope they are all okay and with quiet minds.

That was a fuc*ing embarrassment on every level. Players, refs, coaches. You name it.
Beat down by 20 in the first half? Against ASU? What the hell kind of team is this?
That’s the biggest issue for me is that before the refs could make them game all about them. We came out of the gate with zero energy whatsoever.
-
@Tallturd1 I know what I’m thinking this morning and it isn’t good. But it’s the same feeling I had around this time of year the last two seasons. We are headed down the same path as Indiana basketball and Nebraska football.

They lack energy is really the nail on the head. Really need Council to set the tone. Pick up right at half court. Push the ball on rebounds and stress the defense.
The other thing is easy and that is DP needs to quit trying to draw fouls and start playing to and through contact. Refs let ‘em play late in the year. Always goes like that. He needs to adjust

Not so fun with the box score!
Seems like a general repeat of the last KU loss:
FTs
KU -- 11-16
ASU -- 24-30
All the other main stats are similar. ugh.

I don't like to complain about refs... then I'm a typical fan making a typical rant. These last two games have been horrible to watch. I couldn't identify it was KU. We did not receive a favorable whistle. For sure. But look at the current top teams in America. Do you think they always get a favorable whistle on the road? We just aren't playing to our potential... at all! I know people want to blame DP. He's a kid and he's now going deep in what is called the "freshman slump." I think most of his slump is because of all the crazy attention he has received lately. It must be hard for him to focus. Look at his stat sheet. He did a helluva lot, except his shooting went south. I'm not sure this team can get it together in time this year. Now would be the time to have another team meeting with just the players. It worked last time and I said I thought we would have another meeting this season.
This has been a fun year... hope we aren't sizzling out. Sure looks like there is some discontent on this team suddenly. Suck it up, boys!

DP does not even look 80% out there. We are not seeing much benefit to him on the court anymore on either end. The situation is what it is. Given how tired this bunch looks or whatever is ailing them the benefit at this point is simply that he plays so Mari and Elmarko do not have to play even bigger minutes. We haven't seen whatever version of Peterson we were supposedly supposed to have in weeks now.
Poor Council has brought the juice in most games and it shouldn't be on all him. Kids a warrior and has kept this thing afloat when it might have fallen apart sooner.

Two minor complaints about player tendencies -- things i wish they'd stop doing. A return to simpler things would mean more success, i'm guessing.
-- Tiller: ok, we've seen enough of that spin move in the lane where you lose the ball behind you a lot, which leads to a breakaway and possibly a foul. no mas.
-- Tre: Be stronger at the rim. Stop these wimpy up and unders that don't seem to succeed much. Be strong in the lane. Get a foul called.
