Houston and UCF seem to have the easiest path for wins.

UPDATED: The standings above. WVU is currently leading BYU... Crazy but, depending on how things go, BYU might fall out of this list.

Well obviously we're a lock for a single bye (5-8 seeds) heading into the Big 12 tourney.

Up for grabs is the double bye (1-4 seeds). It's doable. Of the two 11-4 teams, ISU has the harder path than KU, having to play at Arizona.

C'mon, Hawks! suck it up for the ASU roadie!

Certainly a harder game for ISU tonight but I'd argue KU's challenge is not much different. They must rebound off an awful game and must do it on the road as opposed to getting to rebound playing at home. They had this happen 2 weeks ago with ISU then won at Oklahoma St. Hopefully they play like they did there, I'm super worried about Tuesday's game given how Saturday went.

Feels weird to say, but I actually don’t want an extra bye — I’d rather we play and win (of course) and gain another game on KY for the all time wins record.

We are Arizona fans tonight against ISU.

If KU wins one game this week they would have the tiebreaker over ISU for a Top 4 seed.

If ISU wins then KU would need to win both games this week and hope for an ISU loss on Saturday at home or for Tech to lose both its games this week (very unlikely scenario).

So Wildcats take care of business for us.

If I'm thinking right then I'm not if I would rather see Iowa St or see them lose Thing is there is a good chance we could get the # four seed which in a way I would almost rather take the five --cause if we get the four seed and win the first game we would end up playing Arizona again in the wnd round which is one versus four.

Arizona is the 2026 big 12 champs, putting Houston’s 2 year run to bed. I think Arizona is plenty talented but watching the last two games and how physical they are especially on the glass. A picky official could call a push in the back on almost every possession. I’m calling it now Arizona is out in round 2 of the ncaa tournament.

Updated standings. Insanity. TCU, Oklahoma State and K-State won. KU can't take advantage and stays tied with ISU at fourth.

Was a prime chance to get to second or third in the conference and pissed it away almost instantly

There doesn't seem to be any motivation to finish the season strong or control the controllables. We deserve whatever fate comes our way next week and the following

@BeddieKU23 Right it’s like this team was rolling and was broken by the ISU loss. It’s crazy to me these guys much like the last two seasons show up and look like they’re being held against their will. No one is smiling no one is hustling no one is having fun at all. They look like me at my last job burnt out after 10 years but most of these guys have only been here for 8 months. It’s just crazy but the body language of the team suggests we will be very fortunate to win another game this season.

Some of the problem to me is coaching and scheduling. The coaching issue coincides with the scheduling. Bill gets his 7 guys he trust and will only play them in big games most the time. When you have a schedule like ours playing UNC, Dook, UConn and Tennessee before Christmas break it hurts development in the bench players. How many of us have screamed we have no bench this season? No we don’t have a bench because these guys have been failing asleep watching everyone else play 90% of the time. I just did some checking on our strength of schedule we have been in the top 5 a lot but years we were number 1 2005, 2019 and 2023, we could end up 1 this year by the time it’s done. We won 1 conference title in those years and went home first weekend on all of them. We are beating ourselves to death playing too hard of a schedule then playing in a loaded conference especially with Arizona and Houston here. Play some easier games early in the season, give the guys time to figure stuff out and develop a bench instead of playing a prime time match every single week.

Been a long and challenging conference season. Not having any reliable post depth from the looks of it has burnt out Flory/Tiller. Both playing by far the most minutes of their careers so far. The lack of depth there impacts the rotations. We have guard depth, but we also see that depth be inconsistent. Nobody really looks 100% which is normal for this time of year, but they look like a tired/worn out bunch.

The schedule is brutal and isn't going away in the future from the looks of it. For KU, it's one of the ways they are trying to raise revenue. Playing in NIL tourney's/ scheduling aggressive home and aways, never backing down from a challenge. That's partly Bill and part strategy to keep KU competitive in the market and at the forefront of recruiting by playing the games that matter to TV and fans

@BeddieKU23 great observation about post depth leading to inconsistent play for Flory and Bryson.

Definitely needed one more big this season. We could still get 3rd in the conference if tech loses at byu and we beat k state. Both very plausible.

@BeddieKU23 yep I agree with your assessment, but still think swapping the UNC and UConn games for Omaha and UTEP may have gotten Mbiya more minutes to see what he can do/learn.
