Bolden

@Crimsonorblue22 … Looks like Self and Company put the hard sell on Marques. He is now saying “I’m not sure if I’m going to visit Duke and Kentucky this weekend or not,” said Bolden. “I really don’t know what I’m going to do next.”
Hopefully he is Jayhawk bound !!
-
Yes… it sounds like he is leaning back into Kansas again. He would be a great get for us. He reminds me of Perry, but with more ability to score in the low post.
-
No, no, this has Kurtis Townsend’s cuff links all over it.
Bolden was Kurtis-ed.
from jaybate 1.0 's unabridged COLLEGE BASKETBALL DICTIONARY
to Kurtis v. infinitive
Kurtis-ed v. hyphenated past participle
def.
-
to make a highly ranked recruit see the connection between James Naismith and himself;
-
to show him what genuine love and respect for a young hoopah is all about;
-
to show him just how fun playing basketball at a high level can be like;
-
to show a young recruit the difference between James Harden making $200 M for adidas and other guys as good as Harden getting chiseled by Nike;
-
to show a young recruit the best new living quarters in all of college basketball;
-
to introduce a young recruit from another part of the country autumn on the most beautiful college campus in the country and let him experience the ecstatic identities with nature when the sap run up inside of him as the sap runs down inside the elms and oak under their flaming red, orange and yellow leaves;
-
to show a recruit how incredibly gregarious and fun Self is outside the lines, and what a tireless, while wishing he could have been there to see how hard Self drives the players to reach their potential in order to pull down the big check;
-
to show him what sartorial splendor can mean to a man.
-
-
@jaybate-1.0 You forgot something, Townsend is also the one who has the Samantha Ryan hook up as well.
That said, this sounds like a Townsend and Self double team on Bolden to make up for Snacks ineffectiveness.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I’m in wait and see mode with Bolden. At least from what he says, it sounds like Self was all over damage control during the visit. If @jaybate-1.0 is right and Townsend had to step in, it could spell the end of Snacks at KU. The only thing that worries me about the story and about what I saw over the visit is that Bolden was basically attached at the hip with Giles, and if there’s a force that’s going to pull one of the two towards a destination other than what it looked like would happen at the beginning of the summer, then I think it will be Giles pulling Bolden to Duke, not Bolden pulling Giles to KU. If he really doesn’t show in Durham or Lexington this weekend, though, that will speak volumes because you’d have to be pretty damned hyped to make that kind of trip. The best thing, of course, would be a return trip to KU for a game next month ahead of his current December timeline for an announcement.
-
“to show a young recruit the best new living quarters in all of college basketball;”
Heard Hugh Hefner was in town for the christening of the new quarters and to proclaim them as “the swankiest digs in college basketball.” I presume Withey (and Co.) were in tow and smashed the bottle after a ceremonial romping on the pool table.
I guess he said something about Playboy expanding considerably into sports coverage since they decided to extend the female “coverage.”

I thought Late Night was done really well this year. Of course, I only caught it on the tube and not in person. Bet it was really something to see in person!
-
Don’t get your hopes up I still think he end up at Duke
-
Duke has only two senior on the team, Plumlee and Jefferson, and they already have signed 3 players so at least one underclassman will need to leave, transfer or go off scholarship as it stand now; I am not sure they can sign two additional players without substantial disruption… Duke has several players 6’9’ or taller coming back and another PF signed. Duke will not have as much playing time for the bigs as KU and as I indicated it is limited on scholarships.

Ingram is a projected OAD.
Allen almost went pro last year, so he’s definitely on the radar if he has a good year.
Thornton & Jeter are the others, depends on their season.
-
Bolden Officially cancels trips to Duke & Kentucky this weekend.
You have to think this is the fall-out of his trip to KU. Finally some good news!
It doesn’t mean we are now the favorite’s because he’s already been to both programs.
But Late Night could be the lasting impression that wins out?
Could be nothing, could be writing on the wall…
-
@BeddieKU23 Definitely good news. Lock down Bolden and Herard. All is good in the recruiting world.
-
That would be ideal…Many seem to think Herard will end up at Miss St. but the new dorms probably have swayed that.
Jarrett Allen will visit next weekend officially.
He might be an even better option, top 25 kid can block shots & is an athletic big we always covet.
-
@BeddieKU23 One of the attorneys I work with is on the St. Stephens Board of Trustees and I’ve asked him to put in a good word for us on Jarrett. We don’t want him going to Kensucky or Texas!
-
We need all the help we can get.
He already visited Notre Dame but they just took a SG commit which leaves them with no open spots. But the kicker with that is that Jackson their PG is projected to leave this year…
He’s supposed to visit UK after his Kansas visit. I have to ask why after Calipari has gotten Jones & Gabriel. Texas will be involved but wonder if them taking Banks was the sign that Allen isn’t considering them anymore. KU really has a chance to take advantage here & hopefully they do.
-
Great…as long as you don’t break any NCAA rules…
-
@JayHawkFanToo Educate me please.
-
Texas is still the leader for allen
