@cheick_diallo13 all the fans who followed my journey. All my teammates, my coaches teachers who’s make me a better thanks and Love y’all

  • @Statmachine

Please keep us informed; you effort is greatly appreciated.

  • Kentucky reaches out to three-star center. With the missed opportunity to add Stephen Zimmerman or Mike Thorne, and a roster in need of another big body, John Calipari has now reached out to yet another former Charlotte 49er. http://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/kentucky-reaches-out-to-three-star-center/ Does this make a statement about Diallos decision?

  • Diallo had an in home visit with Calipari tonight didn’t he?

Edit … sorry, that was yesterday.

  • @Statmachine

3-star? WOW! He really is desperate; I thought that 3-start were not allowed to wear UK unis.

.@Jhawk0505 I’m not hearing positive things about St. John’s chances to land Cheick Diallo.

  • @JayHawkFanToo No, they can. But with a scarlet A.

  • cheick.jpg

  • @Statmachine as always, thanks for all the good info and hard work.

  • @Statmachine

I thought Pitt had been out of it for a while and ISU’s chances also went down when the coach recruiting him went to St. John’s. I would say it is between KU and St. John’s with a late (hopefully too late) push by UK…

  • @JayHawkFanToo I am guessing it was a Pitt or ISU fan that photo shopped that for Diallo.

  • Here I am rooting we get an OAD. I long for the days where we can throw it into the post of an easy basket.

  • @HighEliteMajor At this point something is better than nothing BUT I hear what you are saying.

  • @Statmachine Man how I loved TRob. My favorite player of the Self era. Diallo’s got a lot of TRob in him.

  • @Statmachine Your picture above about gave me a heart attack. All I saw was the St. John’s above Diallo.

  • @HighEliteMajor Mine too BUT I think we all grieved for him and his sister to a large degree. I think we all connected on an emotional level that wanted to protect him either as a brother or parent looking out for their young. He was also such a presents on the court! BEAST

  • @Statmachine I just can’t imagine a better power forward in Self’s system. He and Withey were quite a combo down low. By the way, great work on this recruiting stuff.

  • Ok, I’m playing this twitter game. Perry Ellis just followed Diallo tonight.

  • @HighEliteMajor Thank you and I enjoy your work on buckets too. I hope you all can stomach my horrible spelling and punctuation but I just don’t want to take the time to do it right. I also have 15 different feeds going sifting through info to see how accurate I can get with recruiting by the time late night gets here.

  • @Statmachine

Iverson called and said…Spelling? Are we talking about spelling? As long as the info is good who cares about spelling. 🙂

  • Cheick Diallo recently frended Christian Garrett on FB. That’s an interesting find?

  • Diallo announcement could be coming soon…

  • @Statmachine

Christian Garret, the ultimate team player…

  • @Statmachine it’s more typing than spelling. We all do it.

  • I’m loving the recent vibes i’m reading on here. I will do some celebrating if/when he commits to KU thats for sure. The guy is going to be a difference maker next year, i have no doubt about it.

I’ve been sharing info with my wife about everything. She isn’t great with remembering names but has coined him “Diablo.” I’m kinda digging the nickname actually, haha.

  • @RockkChalkk Rock cheick will be on lots of posters? Was meant to be!

  • @Statmachine

“Cheick Diallo recently frended Christian Garrett on FB. That’s an interesting find?”

Finds like that give me more hope than reading all the sports babble from all those recruiting sites.

  • I became Cheick’s friend tonight. I think it bodes well.

  • @jaybate-1.0 keep it short, don’t scare him off! Jk

  • @drgnslayr another interesting fact is that 4 guys from the 2015-2016 team are following Bragg. 2 guys from the 2015-2016 team are following Diallo. 8 guys from the 2015-2016 team following Ingram. I think the chances of us landing Ingram are better than anyone might think.

  • @Statmachine what 2015-16 kids? U mean our kids?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 next years Kansas men’s basketball team. Sorry I should have mentioned that

  • I’ve never been too worried about Diallo. I had a strong indication that he was coming to KU when Cliff jumped.

I’m following Ingram more so than Diallo. I mentioned yesterday through some interesting developments that Ingram was choosing KU:

    1. He would’ve chosen UNC in the Fall.

    2. If you’re going to stay home, why wait so long to announce? If your leaning Dook, then choose already. But instead, Dook visits once and then 2-3 days later are back? It’s odd to say the least. If you have a player why return for such a quick back to back visit?

    3. He’s friends with Bragg. This is my biggest reason for him picking KU. I really think Bragg has worked hard and got him fairly early. But Ingram seems to respect his in-state coaches and decides to give them a chance.

    4. Green is out for a while and we need instant results at the 3. Svi won’t be quite ready, but will definitely have a good season.

    5. I don’t exactly know what Self discussed with Ingram, but something tells me maybe a few past players were featured in the pitch to Ingram: Brandon…Rush? or a Ben McLemore? All a bit smaller, but very comparable and provides KU with some competitive ammunition against Rat Face and his NC season.

  • This actually benefits Ingram because NBA scouts will have the university games to scout him and its more national exposure.

  • ing.jpg Looking Good

RT @tonybruton: Brandon Ingram moved all the way up to 3rd in the latest ESPN 2015 ranking.

  • @Statmachine I doubt his thinking is quite that strategic, but he definitely has increased his national exposure. I think he’s torn between staying in N Carolina and going where he belongs. He belongs at KU, but his heart is in N Carolina. I mentioned before that if he chooses a Carolina school, he will lose a lot of fellow Carolina folks from his fanbase. However, it may seem hokie, but if he chooses KU, it’s a much better situation. He makes a fair pick by not picking one Carolina school over another and he gets to go where he has a good friend.

He’s in the same recruiting boat as Ellis. Remember, Ellis had KU, KState, and WSU all three recruiting him. Obviously he chose KU, and hasn’t had much of a backlash. But Ingram seems really torn with Carolina. I kinda feel for him to choose another Carolina school at this point.

Ingram is simply torn between staying home with Dook or leaving out of state to KU. REMEMBER: he said that staying home was NOT a big deal. I really don’t think UNC or NCSt is much of an option right now. I still think by choosing Dook he feels bad for the other two Carolina schools. So his best choice is KU.

All I know if he does choose KU, he needs Hudy more than anything. I think Hudy needs to get his weight program ready…hehe

  • @truehawk93 gotta think Hudy would be big(skinny)!

  • @drgnslayr How about we go with “BAD BALL.” Kansas should be branded as the team that plays BAD BALL and that this is the wave of the future. Tell all the recruits (and encourage other recruiters to tell them) that Bill Self will make you play BAD BALL! The top tier recruits will beat a path to our doorstep–Bank on it!

  • Could it be that Diallo became instant friends with Perry when he visited KU and thus became a Twitter/FB friend and there’s not much more to read into it than that?

  • @wissoxfan83 I think the speculation is that he followed Perry ab 1 hour after posting the picture w all the schools above him, not when he met Perry from when he visited KU.

  • @KUinLA

    I can see it now.

We hire Dennis Rodman as an assistant coach. Surely we can find a dozen players out there who care more about defense than offense.

Did the bio on Rodman. He attended Cooke County CC… is that the penitentiary or school? 2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 7x All-Defensive First Team, 7x NBA Rebounding Champion, 2x NBA All-Star, 5x NBA Champion.

And to toughen up the troops every year we’ll go on an exhibition tour through North Korea. Give them a concept of how tough life can be.

I’m game for that over directly copying Calipari’s recruiting philosophy.

  • I am now Diallos friend on FB and I guess you all could be too. If you’re interested in being FB friends with Diallo then send him a friend request. Chances are he will add you.

  • Not to be a negator on Bad Ball, but how about we run a more diverse offense and actually vary our screening patterns and our personnel placement? And perhaps … just perhaps … work a touch harder to get those three ball looks? These are not complex adjustments. Our current offense can easily be adjusted to make it more dynamic.

Don’t be confused, the offense we ran late with four out/one in (the weave) late was not an “offense” that you can rely on. It was a simplistic stop gap. One that you could teach a bunch of 7th graders in a few practice sessions. It has its place, to use as a change up … and of course, to use until it is stopped. But it’s not anything we want to rely on.

  • @wissoxfan83 said:

I still can’t get out of my mind the FT discrepancy in 1986 when we played puke in the final four.

I was 14 during our Final Four run that year and THAT was the game that cemented the knowledge that I had become a die-hard Jayhawk fan and there was no turning back.

I can recall the flat top hair cuts, the red jerseys, lots of tears and lots cursing at the refs, the TV and the universe for the injustices I witnessed in that game. I remember being so incensed after the final buzzer sounded I stormed upstairs to my room only to pause in the hallway and put my heel through the wall in a fit of rage. (My dad subsequently put his foot through my posterior for such ridiculous behavior).

It was also the moment my hatred for all things Duke bubbled up to the surface. Not even Missouri can surpass the amount of disdain I have for that team from Durham. Duke is far and away my most despised team in college basketball and it’s not close. The fact that they still seem to get all the calls, get all the bounces to go their way and lead an all-around charmed existence chaps me to the core. It just never seems like they win on their own merit, even though they consistently pull in the talent to do so. Anytime Duke loses, it’s a banner day for me. I was pulling hard for your boys this season, but I guess even skill and experience are no match for serendipity.

    C’est la vie.

  • @tis4tim I love this story, you are a true fan, I want to kick out your wall too! Thanks for sharing. When one of my boys was little he had a tshirt that said Duke was a dog.

  • @tis4tim my favorite team to hate always has been and always will be Mizzou.

Having said that, I’m also not a big fan of Coach Ratface and his evil minions. I hate them, but as much as it pains me, how do you not respect a guy with 5 National Championships?

I can take Duke winning, bad as it pains me, but if Mizzou ever made it to the Final Four - I’d probably never watch college ball again.

  • @Crimsonorblue22

lol. great slogan! I hope your boy wore the shirt with the utmost pride and now has it framed.

The irony of my story? After college I lived in the Carolinas for 15 years and most of my good friends were Duke fans. Recently, my dentist suggested I get a bite guard to wear while sleeping because he thinks I grind my teeth at night. Frankly, I KNOW it’s from 15 years of gritting my teeth around those … “people”. I just don’t think he believes me. 🙂

  • @tis4tim I don’t think you hate them as much as you think!! I don’t have a single friend that is a Mizzou fan.
