Congrats Wissoxfan83

  • @brooksmd Yep, Wisconsin just got it does vs an apparent “Nike stack” in Arizona. I think if Wisconsin keeps playing like they just did, they can beat two more “Nike stacks” in Duke and Kensucky, Kensuckarse, Kensuckhole, Kensuckit.

If I am not mistaken, Wisconsin is an Adidas school. just fuel for the Petrol Shoe Co fire @jaybate-1.0

  • @Lulufulu yeah Adidas, same ugly uniform style we wore.

  • Dang right, On Wisconsin! Beat UK! We may all be Badgers this week.

  • This week will be the height of Wisconsin fandom in the history of basketball, unless Notre Dame holds this lead!!

  • @wissoxfan83 They’re doing a great job using backdoor cuts and reverse layups to negate the size advantage.

    BOOM! Time out!

  • Scary how hot Wisconsin had to be to get past AZ… On Wisconsin, Wissox!

  • Curious to see how the refs manage to pull this one out for the slime cats. ND needs to hit some shots and negate the corruption.

  • UK already shot over twice as many free throws, but they’re chucking bricks. Only so much the refs can do, I guess.

  • @approxinfinity I really hope our guys have watched the past two games - seeing a couple of teams with high bball IQ. Wisconsin using head and ball fakes. ND with cuts and using the rim to hold off the swatters.

  • Crap! ND got away from their game the last few mins. They had UK on their heels. UK was beat. Then, Harrison drove in and got a lucky foul and FTs. Sick, sick, sick…

    Go Badgers

  • @DanR ND had a great game and plan. UK had no idea how to handle the play. They started mugging ND and got away with every other foul. But, ND missed too many shots and too many FTs. The last play was a bad play. One man dribbles down and hoists up a difficult shot, knowing uk was going to mug him. If you have two defenders, someone is open. Tough break for ND. The better team did not win this game. One team just got a break or two.

  • I don’t want to hear anymore about Thorne unless he chooses KU. If he doesn’t choose KU, I don’t care. I hope this is no indication of our current recruiting with Diallo or Maker.

  • Towns go to move is to chicken wing the defender and then go up. Foulingest big I have seen all year. Watch him closely. Pulls the ball up, swings his elbows into his defender, and then takes it up.

And can someone other than CBS call the games and do commentary. ESPN has guys that drive me nuts but at least they have guys that know the college player and rules.

Can’t get the the players names correct in our games. In the pregame show one of the “experts” said the reason the Harrison twins and Stein came back is to win a championship. Yea, not because they weren’t lottery picks or in the first round… And then tonight in the ND vs UK game they had Auguste with 5 fouls since he was one from fouling out. Think that brilliance was dropped by Chris Webber. Go figure, couldn’t count in college, still can’t.

    Go Wisconsin!!!

  • @truehawk93 ND blew a simple inbounds play for a chance at go ahead points and turned it over. That was before the last UK drive-not to mention running out the shot clock and a very poor shot selection. All befor the 6 second desparation shot at the end. They had the game or OT at hand and did not execute at the end after doing it all game long. Such a shame I SO wanted to stop the streak and send UK home.

  • @Kip_McSmithers Towns had 4 PFs too. Yet, he never fouled out and played really aggressive. The refs swallowed their whistles with Towns in the second half. Call it whatever you want, whether explicit or implicit, there is a uk bias.

The bias is how the media and apparently the NCAA is willing uk to the NC.

  • @Kip_McSmithers

Well tune in next week to the Badger slanted telecast of the game which CBS/TNT/TBS will be doing. They did the same last year, loved it, except the result of course.

  • I’ll be honest, I haven’t watched too many Arizona games, and I’m still sour about losing out on this recruiting battle, but I’m at a loss as to why Tarzcewski chose Arizona over KU. He looked about as polished as Thomas Robinson during his sophomore season. He’s not a vital piece of their formula. He just stands around watching guards drive to the hoop or shoot threes and fights for rebounds. The guy was a top ten, five-star recruit and he’s nowhere to be found on NBA draft boards. How in the world do big men choose Arizona? Does Sean Miller have a single big guy he can point to and say, “I did that”? It’s baffling.

Anyways, yes, congrats @wissoxfan83. I pray that the Badgers can defeat college basketball’s equivalent to Nazi Germany next weekend. Was with someone rooting for UK tonight… It was a long night to say the least. I think UW stacks up really nice against UK. Hopefully they come out ready to play instead of starting the first half slowly, because if they let UK build up any sort of lead, I’m not sure they’ll get it done. Good luck, buddy!

  • @MoonwalkMafia I think people point to that AZ bigman that was a no-namer, and blossomed into a high NBA pick about 3-4yrs ago, cannot recall his name. But, it was about the time Tarczewski was being recruited.

You know what cinched the KalebT thing shut in my mind? The fact that he sat there in AFH during a game, and was stone-faced expressionless the whole time. Either he wasn’t impressed, or had already made up his mind. SO, he made his choice, I could care less about him. Goes back to my own little phrase of “why worry about some kid who didn’t want us?” It gets worse if you think about Julius Randle or Doron Lamb, with Lamb personally hitting 4 x 3s against us in the '12 NC game. Now that one literally hurt KU, but its a rare thing. I never was mad at Lamb, as he made his choice…thus I moved on from the omg-i-hope-&-pray-we-get-that-recruit mode.

  • @MoonwalkMafia

I saw an Arizona fan on ESPN saying the same thing. He’s not a Sean Miller fan!

  • Plus, if a kid isn’t going to commit 100% all-in to Self’s system, don’t even come here.

  • Speaking of recruiting, Turgeon just scored a real coup with Diamond Stone, who is from Milwaukee. Not sure how he lured him away from UW, but it’s a nice one for Turg.

  • I should have gone into the Seinfeld -George Castanza mode this year: I did not like a lot of teams, yet I wanted KU to win a lot which I knew was a long shot. I didn’t even bother to fill out a bracket.

If I have put a bracket together with who I liked, and who I thought was good early on— and then bet the opposite.,…I would have a great bracket.

  • @Lulufulu

UW has a chance to make history, as THE STACK SLAYER!

    They can shoot the trey.

And they can play “Drive Ball.”

And they have the hardest player of all to guard: a stretch 5.

They proved they can beat a four footer team in UA.

    They have experience, too.

But UA did not go a full 10 deep in draft choices,

    Refs could be decisive.

    On Wisconsin!

  • @jaybate-1.0 OH man, those Wisconsin guys are good! I watched that whole game. Arizona was pretty darn good too. But, Sean Miller suxx. What is the count on Mickey D’s players for UA and for UW?

  • @jaybate-1.0

Unfortunately I have a long memory of games I’ve watched with bad refs, starting with us against Duke in ‘86. Last years’ UW-UK game is not in that memory bank, in other words, I think UW was given a fair shake in that match.

Yesterday drove me crazy, Frank got punched in the face again, they stuck a leg in front of the PG every time he ran horizontally atop the 3 point line, they missed about 22 moving screens, and really called too many fouls both ways. I rewatched the 2nd half and from about 8 minutes to 2 minutes I just fast forwarded because all it was all FT’s all the time.

Everyone is talking about Dekker of course. The entire country would’ve heard of him if he’d played like that the last three years all the time, but he hasn’t. We’ve seen he’s capable, but he’s had the type of hidden injuries that have limited him kind of like Selden. I really think Selden could break out in a similar way provided he gets healthy.

I think the thing that is helping the team the most is what you mention, experience. The guys we looked to for experience this year were sophomores and juniors, Frank M, Perry, etc. UW’s sophs were still the young guys learning from the juniors and seniors. If Bill can redevelop his system to avoid the OAD’s and build a core of experienced guys the sky is the limit. Next year could become one of those years for KU.

@lulufulu I don’t track MCd’s too much for any team really. I think Bo had one a decade ago, Brian Butch. The one moment I thought Miller was really exposed last night was with 50 seconds left, UW, up 5 brings the ball up the court and UA doesn’t foul. It led t0 Dekkers incredible Larry Bird like 3 from the wing in front of Bo, ball game. If they foul, UW was in a little annoying habit at that point of making 1 of 2 FT’s so it was still a bit of game.

I used to think Sean Miller in those discussions for who might replace BS. No longer. He’s good enough to get teams pretty deep into the dance as he proved at Xavier and UA, but that’s about it.

  • Go Badgers!

  • @MoonwalkMafia All I saw of the Arizona game was the very end. I mean last 30 seconds. What struck me was how…heartbroken they all were. Honestly, I didn’t stick around for the end of all of our games. Do our guys react that way? Don’t get me wrong - I wish they did. I wish their hearts were crushed after a loss, especially a season ending loss. I don’t mean that in a mean way - I just want them to be so invested in our program that they just can’t stand to lose.

  • @nuleafjhawk I dunno, I saw the look in Frank’s eyes after the game. He was clearly hurting. He wasnt brought to tears that I know of but man, it hurt me just to see him. I hope we keep this kid around for another 2 years.

  • @Lulufulu someone punched the white board too.

  • Glad to see Frank K picking up player of the year. Not sure I would have gave Cal COY over Mike Bray or Ben Jacobson. Neither were supposed to have the years they did and look what they got done with far inferior talent. Both of those guys and 75% of all coaches could go undefeated with that Nike OAD/TAD stack.

  • @Kip_McSmithers

I know what you mean about Cal, but it’s hard not to give it to a coach who enters the final weekend 38-0.

Pretty big honor for a Badger to win that award. Maybe some more hardware coming this weekend!

  • @wissoxfan83 You mean Monday night. 🍺
