Must win tomorrow!
-
How are people feeling about tomorrow? Hard to believe this season has already gone off the rails, but 0-0 in the league means we can start it off the right way tomorrow. Stuff the run sounds like the important part tomorrow for our D. Two decent backs and a running QB.
Jalen might have an easy time with the WVU secondary from what I’ve read. Would be great to see him gain some confidence.
Safest call for me is an OT game like last time we were there. Then who knows.

I think Jalen finds some rhythm WV secondary errible- -even hei fans say as much — I’ll say KU 28-----WV 24

Gotta admit, I have pretty low expectations. JD throws the ball very hard, making it hard to catch. Run game has to work. D has to stop WV run game.
-
Watching Ill-Nebby and Illini are going toe to toe with them in Lincoln. Husker fans are pretty excited sensing a revival of Husker football. They had a remote learning day today so fans could, IDK, be better ready? for the game. Illinois if haven’t remembered was a game that we actually should have won. We’re a good team that hasn’t figured out how to win thus far.
-
As I said earlier in the week I believe this to be a bowl elimination game. I don’t see either of these teams getting to .500 after falling to 1-3. It will be interesting to see how we come out and if JD can return to form. The defense has kept us in games so far but that’s a lot of pressure on them at this point. WV will try to control the line of scrimmage and run the ball down our throats.
I predict another 100 yard rushing game from Neal. I’ll take WV 35 to 13, I think the defense gets gassed from being on the field too much. JD continues to struggle staring down receivers and throws 2 picks, one of which is returned for 6. I’d be happy to be wrong but I haven’t seen anything from this team that leaves me to believe they are capable of beating an FBS team let alone a conference opponent on the road.
-
@kjayhawks I don’t see it nearly that catastrophic. I hope you’re wrong!
-
@wissox me too, big win for Illinois in Lincoln tonight so that makes me feel a little better. Ugh if only we didn’t give away games.
-
@wissox Dylan Raiola, mini Mahomes. It’s amazing what a good qb can do for a program.
-
I don’t feel great about it. But yeah maybe the Illinois loss won’t be as bad as previously thought.
-
I am still SMH how quickly sentiment has changed for KU Football.
We have so many good players that have been around for long time.
Coming into the season people including myself were so hopeful and high on this team and now we are talking about not even making it to a bowl game.
-
I probably won’t have be able to watch today. Too bad - I kinda wanted to see Grimes’ last game…
-
Ugh! This is like 4 years ago when it was a difficult decision to even watch the game. I wish Daniels would get benched after his first TO and at least see if a more steady, less risk taking Cole Ballard might be the best option for a win now. Our running game is so strong, I would like to see mostly running plays and then just use the pass to keep the dbacks off the line of scrimmage. Daniels just isn’t running the run/pass option well, so unless he improves the first Q, please Lance let’s try something different.
-
Maybe the Illinois loss isn’t quite as bad as I thought, Illinois beating Nebraska last night , ya not quite s bad
-
Turn the season around right here, right now.
-
That sack, damn
-
Ok, I did the freeze frame on that sack…he was offsides.
-
We will see if JD has confidence to make some throws
-
What just happened, D meltdown
-
Soft coverage on this drive
-
Someday I’d like a real football coach to explain soft zone coverage defense. I don’t get it. We got two of the best CBs, use em?
-
Wow. Straight to the bench.
-
If I am LL, I will bring in Ballard.
-
But, JD has been running for his life on every play. Our line isn’t giving him any protection
-
He sucks. Get a new QB in the next set of downs
-
I think JD should be getting passes off before running for his life. Not seeing the field.
-
He should be throwing passes higher to avoid the ability to intercept halfway to the intended player.
-
His confidence is shattered, let him reset.
-
Is “reset” code for sitting on the bench?
-
Let him sit.
Watch from sideline.

But yea, that isn’t helping him.
-
Regardless of whether he was running for his life or not, he threw another pick. I imagine mentally he’s done for the day. Time to make a change.
Also, now it’s time to figure out if the issue is Grimes or JD. Give Grimes 3 quarters with a new QB and see if it works.
-
Okay D
Lets go now
-
Thank goodness for this defense. We’re due for a long TD
-
Pick!
-
I hope Grimes can be a bit more creative and do not have JD in obvious 3rd down throwing situations looking in middle of the field.
-
Lets go now
-
Neal is amazing
-
Neal 70yds, 11 rushes, TD.
-
Cmon D!
-
Some blown up coverages on this drive, need a stop
-
Dotson having a tough day so far.
-
Why was that not intentional grounding?
-
D stop. Great. Now, Neal left, Neal right and Neal up the middle.
-
Penalty…
-
Why can we not finish out halves to our advantage?
-
-
I’m listening on the way back from my son’s game and David Lawrence has called out the playing calling non stop. It is holding us back big time again today. Just another Saturday with the worst offensive coordinator in the nation.
-
This opening drive is important. Great so far. Got to tie this game up
-
TD, nice start to the 2nd half
-
Our secondary is not doing well.
-
They are giving up too many big plays.
