So, my bad, the 46 point game was last week. Saw it pop up and assume. Whoops.
He will visit KU for the Houston game, Feb 3rd.
I saw the Indiana guys say they’re kind of out of the recruitment now…we liking our chances?
Interesting…Guess sanon and Peterson is a take the first one
You could take both, one in 24 the other in 25. Personally I am off of Bryson Tucker after reading Bossi’s latest comments about him. I am not overly interested in potential 1 year passengers that would rather be in the g league.
-
Also Tucker just isn’t that good. Not a 3&D guy but also doesn’t have great ball skills

Think he got his gleague offer tonight, per the streeeets. And I’m with you, he is a bit passive for my liking as well.
-
Tucker is not a fit at KU with his skillset. He’s a mid-range warrior with below average ball skills.
Sanon on the other hand is an athlete and scorer and the comps for him at KU are there + the fit. Self might finally be embracing that he’s gotta land these kind of athletes with the changing landscape. You have Philon, Passmore and Flory already. Keep stacking these kind of dudes
-
@BeddieKU23 did he ever not embrace having athletes or just not have the luxury for a bit?
-
Good point, he was definitely limited the past 5 years or so from getting them in bunches. I’m excited to see what future KU teams look like given the kind of players they are signing and recruiting.

As long as we retain guys too I’m really happy about it. I’m nowhere close to giving up on Elmarko yet.
Obviously the 22 class already washed out for various reasons. That’s the first class that had me excited again and gave indications that recruiting was back.
-
Agree, Elmarko is going to need at least another year which I’m happy about as long as its at KU.

Same.
@approxinfinity Doubt it

Just wondering how this would effect Flory ? - -5 star ranked 5th or right there in the class, might make he ask for release - -a lot of these kids rated that high impatient, didn’t sign to come sit they want that floor time
-
@jayballer67 Would rather have Hunter. If that is the cost so be it. But I’m greedy, I want both.
-

true but also Flory adds much needed depth that we are lacking this year, ya could be costly

Flory committed knowing Hunter is considering coming back. Non-issue because the KU coaches are honest in recruiting sometimes to their detriment. There are some publicly documented cases of that even.
-
Flory is the perfect third big next year. He’s not really a NBA prospect IMO so it would do him a world of good to sit behind KJ and Hunt for a year. And like @BShark said, he knows what the deal is. I think Cliff is a good comp for Flory and Cliff was not a starting caliber player as a frosh
-
@FarmerJayhawk Cliff was going to be so good. Dang family.
-
@dylans yep. You could see the light coming on late. He would’ve been awesome as a sophomore.
-
Looks as if the Sanon recruitment is going to be NIL driven. I see he has set a visit to Georgia. Supposedly KU will get one as well in February, they are working on dates. This is an interesting one.

Disagree on Flory’s nba prospects. That kid has pro defensive rim runner written all over him.

I’m cheering for him but a 6’8 center without much skill would be pretty unusual
-
So who would we rather have ? - - Peterson Or Sonon ? - -how heavy are we in on these guys , are we in the mix ? -is Sonon a re-class ?
-
Peterson
-
Adidas said Peterson is worth the money
-
@BeddieKU23 said in Recruiting Notes:
Peterson
Trilly said it’s done on his discord fwiw, just a matter of 24 or 25.
-
If I’m seeing things right, reading things right , sounds like we might be in a good spot with Peterson, just a matter of 24/25. – Would be a GREAT class if he was 24. From what I’m seeing fits in really well with what Coach Self stated. He was responding to the updated rankings, talking about how guys can be over rated/under valued.
In the latest updated rankings , Flory went from # 8 - -to # 10 player.- Philon went from # 27 - -to # 30- — &Passmore stayed at 48. Coach said that was a good class and these guys were good fits but here is where I connect with what I see about pretty much done just 24/25. Coach finished up by saying 24 was a good class but just doesn’t think we are done, and followed up saying can’t be done – -hmmmm sounds good.
-
I saw that too. Hopefully it stays that way. Watched a recent game of his and yeah adding him to your 24 class really makes you dream. No complaints if he stays in 25 and comes through as a headliner there. Very exciting prospect.

If he commits & re-classify’s -monster class hope things work out

Assuming Peterson/Sanon stay in '25, are there any other SF/wings we are looking at for next year? Will be down Kevin for sure and Furph is looking like a good bet to go pro this year if he keeps putting up numbers like last night.
-
McDs results are in. Kinda as expected Flory is the only one for KU. Asked around and sounds like Philon would have had a shot if he wasn’t playing at Link. Playing there is probably good for him long term but they have two guys that just chuck away. Kease had no shot basically. Coaching friend said he’s basically a slightly less athletic Benny Mac. I’ll take that!

Sanon is a lock to reclass but honestly I am not sure I want him. I’d think we need to portal in a 2/3 type. Not worried about Furphy leaving…yet… Depends on if he projects in the lottery.

Kentucky fans seem done with Justin Edwards, wonder if we would entertain that in the portal
-
Bossi said the Sanon handlers have unrealistic expectations for NIL.
-
Soon to be Top 5 player Khaman Maluach will visit for Baylor Game. Also considering Baylor, Duke (who he’s visited), Kentucky & G-League. We’ll see what shakes out there. Not super high currently on him being likely

Yeah sounds about right.
-
KU staff in for Sanon again today per Eric Bossi
-
Certainly being consistent here. Besides the NIL which hopefully can be worked out, he’s a good player to be keeping after. We have the funds to be right there

Sanon in 2024 Peterson in 2025 can’t complain with that
-
If Case goes 4/4 on recruits this cycle I may never shut up about it.

We should be excited that we have developed another ace recruiter. T, Norm had their days when they were elite. Case seems to have ran with the mantle for sure. Very impressive work in a short amount of time
-
Can Case x’s and o’s coach?
-
-
Boy gotta say KU returning to the better recruiting ol days when we were right in the mix with big time talent. All this BS with the NCAA effected us in that area for awhile BUT -Coach & Staff seem to have gotten a new Boat -a speed boat lol and are hitting on all speeds. We are in on several players
Sonon - -Peterson - - -Williams , my question is if one commits, does it effect the others decision to commit ? - I think Williams is different position then Peterson and Sonon isn’t he ?
-
Sanon went for 40 again last night lol
-
@BShark Post visit bump

Seems to go for 40+ every time we watch him lol.
Definitely a natural scorer.

@BShark next thing we’ll say is congrats on the head gig

If not, there are dozens of people on every fan forum who know more than any actual coach!

Had an old friend tell me Goff has plugged most leaks where Bry and Vern don’t get a lot of solid intel anymore.
