Is there any risk of getting some of the guys that Duke/UK usually get that even though it sounds cool and all that to load up with 5 stars that we run into the problem those two programs have in keeping guys for more than a year? If so, I want no part of guys leaving after 1 year. Ask Kentucky fans in particular what they think. Duke has done a little better job of hanging on to them, but not much and their relative lack of success is an indictment on the OAD model.

Yeah there is that risk but look at this past years KU team for why it doesn’t matter anymore.
7 players left for the Portal, almost 8 before Zach came back. Everything is now 1 and done regardless of star attached to name.
I don’t like it but it’s the current reality…

@BeddieKU23 Yeah, I guess you’re right but really did we lose anyone that we were absolutely counting on? Adams, McCullar, Harris all returning and then all the new pieces. We’ve got some nice experience coming back.

@wissox I was really looking forward to watching our twin tower sophomores develop. Zuby and Udeh would’ve been fierce juniors! (No sr season after winning the championship and jumping to the pros a year early) lol

Like Dylans mentioned I was excited for the Udeh, Zuby development. Hunter probably makes us a better team so how can i complain too much? It still makes me mad though.
I’m very interested to see if Hunter lives up to it.

Wish we could have retained one of them but I get it from the perspective of the kids.

I don’t wanna discount Miami at all but I could see him taking that visit to keep the good relationship between Team final and UM.

Trilly just said it’s over. We’ll see how it goes…would love having on the team. But the portal will be useful and I believe we’ll have one of Morris or Jackson on the team alongside Dajuan.

So Bethea visits Miami and cancels his future visits, then says he has made a decision. Not super encouraging, but maybe…just maybe….that trip to Miami was a vacation.

Believed to be a Duke lean. They apparently tried to get involved with Bethea but were turned away because of it.

Well if you give me the choice I’ll take Flagg every day and twice on Sunday. I’m a broken record on this but outside of Flory and Flagg I’d rather go portal for any needs. Youth doesn’t get it done nowadays.

I think he’s a good fit as a player for Bill Self.

I think he’s a good fit as a player for Bill Self.

Can’t imagine anyone would be mad with that. A dajuan who can get his own on the level that Bryce was advertised at is a pretty easy nba player. Hell just a taller dajuan in general is great.

The whole Coaching staff was out Monday to see Flagg- - & McNeeley & Queen. Not sure why with Queen sounds like were not really in that , but it’s ok. - -Would be nice id w could pull McNeeley from under Indiana return the favor for them stealing one of ours.- - -Anyways they seen all three & then seen Flagg by himself later in the day - -Coach is all in for sure

Arkansas leads, LSU 2nd. Straight from the source. Added that if KU gives him a commit-able offer for 24 (he had one for 23, but was unable to reclass) it would be “hard to say no” so things could change quickly and we all know KU usually puts on a great visit.
