Gradey enters the draft

Dick can still pull out if things don’t go just right. Just can’t wait too long or it’ll be a permanent decision
-
@jayballer67 That’s fine. It’s just that I don’t get all teary eyed over people who give us a year. I’m not saying he’s a bad person. It’s like some people want fast, shiny, expensive cars and some people want dependable cars with good gas mileage. Neither one is wrong. It’s a preference.
-
@FarmerJayhawk gonna miss those Dick jokes

WOW - what A SURPRISE now for those that thought he might come back -now you can rest easy
Why do you have to rub it in peoples faces?

I see what you did there.

I’m with Nuleaf. Unless said freshman leads us to glory, I’ll just think about the lost opportunities at KU. Although I follow their pro careers with some pride, I do much more the guys who we got to know. I wish the NBA would end this charade of guys playing college for a year before going pro.
As for you Gradey, go and do well, get loaded playing for some marginal team that will draft you and play in front of 10000 fans who are half asleep. You had the currently best playing situation in the country and you’re trading it in for what now amounts to extra dollars.
-
If Gradey stayed one more at KU, he would be (IMO) an instant NBA success.
He’s got a lot to work on. I hope his shot is enough to keep him rostered for now.
There’s still time to change your mind, Gradey!
-
Very excited for Gradey. I hope he makes a fortune.

Agree with ending the OAD rule. Some guys just don’t want to deal with college at all. And I mean, it’s hard to blame them. Overtime Elite is trying to fill that gap while the NBA waits for their next CBA. Some fairly mid level prospects went the OTE route.
Ultimately college is still a bigger platform than OTE or the GLeague and college did just fine when the Kobes, KGs and Lebrons of the world didn’t play.

I don’t either get all teary eyed , no need too I mean it’s a their decision to make. - If that’s what he wants then so be it. -We was fine BEFORE GRADY got here and we just like always will be fine for years to come after he ha left here

the NBA and union have tabled the minimum age thing, so OAD will continue for the foreseeable future
-
Good luck to him. Go get better at basketball and make some money.

Wasn’t it not that long ago where the kids could go straight NBA and by pass College completely ? If so why did they do away with that ?
-
@jayballer67 it’s been awhile now. 15 years or so. Too many HS kids were entering on bad advice and never amounting to much. NBA GMs basically told the union to save them from themselves. The union was happy because it meant more veterans could hang onto their jobs.

LeBron effect. In 10 or so years before LeBron had the same number of HS kids go pro as the 3 years after him.

Grow up. LOL. Pot meet kettle.

Also mentioned they didn’t talk about it because of that reason. He was fantastic here and hopefully he balls out in the league for KU

Reggie Miller or Adam Morrison? That is the question GMs must answer. Good luck!
