The news needs to stop being the murder, malign and fight hour.
This is why I stopped watching the news years ago (and I’m surprised more people are not turned off by the same cycle of depressing/propaganda.)

@Kcmatt7 ahhhh! A crims jr! Love it! So happy for you guys! I babysat for youngest gson, 13 months yesterday. He got his first goose egg on his forehead. We weren’t done there, then he fell on his knees and then all his weight on his chin. His hands were full of Easter eggs. No blood! Then he was moving his chair around and it fell over on his bare foot. I saw all of them. I was right there, geez did I feel bad!
-
@Kcmatt7 Congratulations! You are racking up debts, you know… First, we get a cigar when the baby is born. They come in handy on the golf course to keep mosquitoes and gnats away.
Which takes us smoothly to our second topic. The long-standing (just made up) tradition is for the ace-golfer to buy drinks for everyone in any championship basketball team forum in which he participates. We can just send you the bills.

@Kcmatt7 congrats man. My youngest is a hellion born shortly before lockdown. Hopefully yours will be a little more diplomatic… but only a little. It will be interesting to see how history divides the generations. My guess is there will be some stark differences between those growing up pre and post COVID, and im guessing these guys will live with eyes wide open.

Thought I’d post this here. At least one person was willing to do the right thing. We need more like this guy.

@tis4tim I was thinking more people returned after hearing the story. Let’s hope!

Just saw all 3 local sports shows, they had clips of the barnstorming tour. Och said they loved each other so much the weren’t done playing w/each other. Sounded weird anyway, he and Mitch spoke. Saw remy hood up, sunglasses on, JC, and CB. Lots of people in line. Should make bank! Said schedule for rest of games next week.

DOGS! This is a bit sad, but still heartwarming.
-
@BShark oh boy! Our last dog was a bday gift to my husband, when he died it bout killed me. I couldn’t stop crying. I have another crazy golden, Rio. Both my boys have cavaliers. We are dog people. They are family.

Cats here, but definitely love both.
Did not know if this one would make it! She was very sick as a kitten. Found her while a previous cat was near the end of a losing battle with cancer so amazing timing really.

The answer to how many cats I have is: Yes.

Emotional terrorism from SVP. I have an amazing senior rescue now, and have been around dogs my whole life. They’re really amazing critters

Great moment here at the Yankees-Blue Jays game.
Aaron Judge hits a home run. Blue Jays fan catches it. The fans turns to a young fan wearing an Aaron Judge jersey and gives him the home run ball.

Same thing happened to me when I saw it. Lousy allergies.

Saw on espn there’s a you tube video of the 3 of them in the dugout. The kid is crying the whole time. I was hoping he’d sign his ball or give him some souvenirs.
-
@tis4tim Yesterday they brought the kid and the fan who gave him the ball to the Yankees dugout to meet Aaron Judge. Aaron Judge makes me mad because he absolutely destroys White Sox pitching and I’ll be at the Sox Yanks game next week and I know he’ll ruin my evening, but he seems like a genuinely really good guy too.

Has a lot of F words, but it’s nice to see a man stand up for his beliefs!

So I just ordered my breakfast from Jollibee and my 92 YEAR OLD neighbor saw me with the delivery guy.
When lola saw him handing me my food at our gate, she called him over and asked him what he does… So when he told her he delivers food that she would want to order, she proceeds by enumerating her order
I honestly thought he would just ignore her, laugh and be on his way, but he actually took out his own cellphone, dialed a number, and ordered for her!!!
There was a time when I hated Jollibee’s delivery service because they messed up a few times, but now I think I’m going to order more delivery from them.

After a long time considering options (which, I’m incredibly fortunate to have a few), I’ve decided to finish my PhD then leave the academy and take a job with a non-profit doing some research and some advocacy on issues I care about. A huge part of this decision was it being a fully remote gig, and being able to live wherever I want. My grandparents are in their 80’s and could use some family fairly close by since my mother semi-retired to South Dakota and my uncle lives in western Colorado. So! I put in an application on a few houses and am moving back to Lawrence next summer after I graduate!! I’m unbelievably pumped to head back to the area. One of the houses is like 2 blocks from my old apartment in LFK on Ohio St. :). I cannot wait to hit up the Williams Fund and Endowment and start giving back to the university I love so much (including getting on that long ass list for hoops tickets). Who knows, maybe there will even be a wait on football tickets??
-
@FarmerJayhawk I love it! Great decision!

Congrats!
