Damn. Could be another game that comes down to the last play. Par for the course this weekend.
Good call!
Okay, NOW I’ll take credit
-
Bite me josh Allen! We weren’t done!
-
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.
(Literally. Got a batch of buttermilk chicken ready to fry!)
-
@nwhawkfan Buffalo meat?
-
Haven’t had a bison burger lately. Hmm…
-
Being from Wyoming, it’s nice to see Josh Allen playing so well. But not against my Chiefs!
-
@nwhawkfan they are good!
-
We had some dumb playing calling inside the 10
-
As someone who lives in the only NFL West market that DIDN’T have a team in the playoffs, I’ve gotta figure who I’d rather see play the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. (I know, too early.)
Probably the Niners though. Would hate to go up against the Rams at their place, even if a lot of Super Bowl tickets go to corporate suits instead of the real fans.
-
NFC West, that is.
-
Dinner time ! Thanks everybody ! Back for more stress tomorrow in AFH.

Fortunate to be on the other side of the stupid OT rule this time.
-
NFL OT rules are ass
-
@FarmerJayhawk Saved Andy from a lot of tough questions tonight. Also Buffalo not squib kicking was neat.
-
@BShark tbh they should’ve just tackled any receiver at the LOS on that last drive. Trade a few yards for a second or two each time.
I feel cheated out of seeing what Allen would’ve done the next drive

Never so happy to feel cheated!!!

That rule hurt us too and we tried to get rid of it and were over ruled. It’s totally unfair! Who can’t think it’s not? As for tonight, we shouldn’t have taken the ball out of Patrick’s hands on the bell dozers lateral on the goal line. Got to cute. Why didn’t they throw a flag when Patrick got his face ran over on the sideline? What if’s?

And guess what, Buffalo was one of the franchises that voted against the change.

That was quite a game. Hard to believe that all actually happened. The results of the weekend did bring to mind something that’s a rub for me…
The QB position is oftentimes judged by wins and losses…especially in the playoffs. We all saw with our own eyes how the quarterbacks played in the games this weekend. And we would probably also say that Josh Allen’s playoff record getting an L is about as fair as Jimmy G’s getting a W. The fact that a team win will be credited to one QB whose offense scored 6 points and a team loss will be credited to another that did what Allen did is why that statistic’s weight in discussion of great QBs is just absolute trash. It won’t ultimately cause any of us to question who might be the better player between Allen/JimmyG, but that specific stat being used to justify one great QB being better than another great QB is just so silly to me.
-
It may seem unfair in a particular game to give a great passer the loss, but that is no different than a pitcher who loses a no-hitter and the game because of a run scoring on an error.
I think people understand the difference between a great passer like Dan Marino, who played the position of QB at a high level, and Joe Montana or Tom Brady, who have lots of Ws in Super Bowls.
How else other than winning should QBs be evaluated since ultimately winning often is most often produced by excellence in leadership, not only good passing?
-
@mayjay How does a lack of playoff success affect what people think about Barry Sanders? Or Champ Bailey? Tony Gonzalez? Randy Moss? Calvin Johnson? Junior Seau? Bruce Smith? The reality is that if you’re not a QB, no one puts wins and losses into that discussion. I’m not naive in thinking the QB plays a role that is different, but it’s not the only position that produces excellence in leadership.

Precisely as it should be. QB is the leader of the offense, which on a win must have more points than the other team. QB handles 95 to 99% of snaps, is charged with reading the defense and adjusting play calls if needed, and has long been considered the general on the field. RBs and the other positions do not handle the ball or make decisions on virtually every play.
Would you prefer QB reputations to be divorced from whether they win games or not? I can hear those discussions in my nightmares… “Allen threw more TDs in the games they played, so he was greater than Mahomes.” “But Mahomes led the Chiefs further in the playoffs!” “That doesn’t matter–the QB does not deserve to be considered the winner, so Allen can’t be the loser.”
-
All I know this game is hyped about being one of the ages. We couldn’t have done it w/out Kelce, cheetah, Hartman and even buttkicker, lol! It would’ve been easier w/the honey badger! The 2 qb’s broke records, but we need our receivers to help. Gonna be a fun couple of years watching these new young guns.

@mayjay Man…then I guess it’s gonna be hard for me to unload my Jeff George and Vinny Testaverde jerseys. Make me an offer?

Jeff George. Incredible arm. Does that jersey have all of the grass stains on the back from the million times he was sacked due to his horrid O line?

I had a conversation with a 10 year old boy once (circa 1991-2) who just idolized Vinny despite … well, despite Vinny. No stats, no team records, no miserable performances could break that allegiance. Vinny looked cool, and that was that.
If you had a Vinny TBay jersey, well, now you’re talking…

How Pat makes me feel.

It’s more stressful to be a spectator. I relate.
-
@tundrahok dang, mine was just the opposite! 3 nights in a row. Non-stop spiking.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 You should have been on the field. Less stressful to play than watch!

I saw that stat earlier today. Had to reread it several times to make sure It said what I thought it said. Absolutely mind-blowing. Grim Reaper indeed.
-
We should know! Jayhawks and Chiefs!
-
@focojayhawk Jeff George? You mean the guy who got hurt his freshmen year at Purdue and his mom ran onto the field?
-
Can Chiefs contain Burrow and stud wide receivers. Last time Chiefs were torched. How will KC respond today.
Burrow made some comments earlier in the week with regards to noise level a non factor inside Arrowhead compared to SEC.
I expect decibel level to be a bit higher today.
-
Go Chiefs
-
Go Chiefs!!!
-
Solid start there. Love that they are playing McKinnon more.
-
OF COURSE HE DID !
