Agbaji and Braun

Och is leading the nation in scoring currently.

Christian is an absolute shocker so far. I would guess that very few if any of us saw this breakout coming. Seems like it’s a confidence adjustment that’s propelling him. I said a while back that’d I’d like him to chill on the stare downs after dunks and great plays, but I take it all back. That seems to be the key to his success. — Private thought that nobody else should probably read: We needed more cameras on Christian’s hot mom in the crowd!
As for Och, he needs to continue to get to the rim or IMO he’ll start to find less space to shoot.

@rockchalkjayhawk Biggest thing for Braun to me is he’s not playing out of position this year. Last year, he was forced to play the 2 almost exclusively which is not his skill set. Now that he’s back at the 3, he’s able to play to his strengths that we saw flashes of as a freshman.

Swagger! As long as he can back it up. Self likes it too.
-
Everyone plays better with a good PG as well.

So he has taken it back over ?
-
@BShark very true, having a point is a good thing (having three even better). Remy felt the love yesterday, he’s fixing to turn it on. Dave had a solid game too as did Harris. Hell, everyone did, Beatdown City.
@Texas-Hawk-10 agree, Braun has found himself. And he is not a two.
@jayballer67 oh I’m sure that Braun will test the waters. If he keeps playing at this level - and I think that he will - he almost has to.

Guess the question is, how high will Agbaji after this season and Braun after next (or this?) be picked? Not to rub it in, but I remember saying - and everyone thought I was high - that Agbaji and Braun would be playing in the NBA.
I think Agbaji is a solid 15-20 pick. Braun, if he keeps playing the way that he is (and he will)? First rounder after this year, if he so chose. If he comes back with our being so young next season, top 15 pick. He will be scoring his ass off next season…

IDK, I’ve seen too many KU greats flame out in the NBA that I’m decidedly not hopeful for either. I hope I’m wrong of course, but our guys, just don’t seem to be too successful.
As far as this season goes, it’s been awesome to watch.

No, tend to post too many sometimes. Just trying to give others a chance to respond.
-
@Marco But when your posts are gone, I feel like I am losing my memories… “I know Marco said this, now where was that?”
Stimulating Alzheimerphobia…
-
@mayjay Lol I’ll try to do better.

@Marco I forget what we’re talking about…

We were talking about Agbaji and Braun. Thoughts?

@Marco Fun to watch! I just hope tbey are able to share. I would like to see Agbaji’s assist and rebound rates go up.

How can his assist and rebound rates go up, when he makes damn near every shot? Lol… Are you taking about other people’s misses? Braun gets those. I’m joking…

Speaking of Ochai and Braun being NBA worthy, Has any former KU player ever talked or written extensively on what it is/was like to play in the NBA vs their college experience?
It seems that a lot of them speak of their college years in a glowing almost reverential way. The excitement, the KU loyal fans, the history, the aura of Allen field house, learning under great teachers and coaches, being part of Jayhawk nation for life, etc. Yes some make a good deal of money in the National Boring Association, schlepping thru 82 regular season games, plane ride after plane ride, getting traded, and moving to a whole new system and environment, a few get lucky to play in the finals… Has any former player ever said something to the effect of “ college was not that great, but the pros are amazing…” There was a quote I saw recently by NBA hall of famer Paul Pierce about the magic of being part of KU Nation. Never ceases to amaze him wherever he goes he hears people say Rock Chalk when they recognize him, and how proud and grateful he is when it happens. He says Rock Chalk right back.
Interesting that there were reportedly 40-odd KU hoops alum at the misery game. That’s a lot! I know that many of them did not make the nba, but still quite impressive….

Ha… you are preaching to the choir!

I lived in 5 European countries and would constantly see KU clothing everywhere! I can’t say that about any other school… or I would say it.
I think Jayhawk fans quickly learn how special it is to be fans of KU basketball.
I was fortunate enough to be at KU when AFH was open for anyone to use during the days when it wasn’t in use for school functions. I lived down around Alabama and 23rd and would make the uphill climb on my bike every morning early and hoop it in AFH. Even playing in pickup games felt special. Always felt like basketball Gods were watching, usually probably holding their noses! lol
