@FarmerJayhawk no doubt. And Dick is still young, he is going to get even bigger. He can penetrate at will, and even go ball deep at the rim. His ball skills are more than good, and he will get longer the more that he plays.
-
@Marco Dick’s finish at the rim is smooth and explosive.

Welcome Grady! I can hear it now. GD to CB for 3!
Looking at rivals I just noticed that Cuffe has gained 22 spots and now sets at 56. No change on 24/7 still at 98
Cuffe should be 50-ish just based on his athleticism. Really increasing the athleticism so far with the commits in 22. Gradey is absolutely no slouch in that regard.
Names to keep a close eye on: Aidan Shaw, Jayden Epps
Dream, probably unobtainable: Richard Isaacs JR, Rylan Griffen, Bryce Griggs
I absolutely LOVE Noah Shelby’s game and think he is underrated but he appears to actually be going through the whole package deal thing with Dort. Odds are Vandy or Memphis. Don’t think KU has the, ahem, bidding capability to win that one.

Ok so someone please tell me different if I’m wrong on this but I think I got this right but feel free. The way I understand this stands because of this extra year ok so, we are in the 2020/21 year right now. which means Grady is STILL 2 seasons away right ? - -this is the 20/21 season , then w have the 2021/22 season then Grady in the 2022/2023 season right ? I think everyone maintains their current classifcation right ? Cause Mitch coming back as a SR - -again
I think EVERYONE comes back the same as this year. - - So I think if that’s the case I would have this figured right.
How about this for roster ; - -Christian Braun being a JR - -Harris a Soph - - Jalen a Soph ( I think Jalen sticking for at least the 3 years ) - Bryce Thompson would be a Soph , David McCormack would be a SR- - Kyle Cuffe a FR - - Grady Dick as a FR - - Zach Clemence a Soph - - -& KJ Adams would be a Soph - that’s a pretty salty Roster - - -I’m pretty sure that’s right love that roster
-
The eligibility thing is weird, I imagine a lot of players won’t actually use the extra year.

possibly , just don’t know. The thing is a lot of these kids are good here at KU but yet not mind boggling , great. - -They typical very fringe type player , the type of player that if they get any shot at all it’s going to be G league at best or over sea’s - -players like that could use that extra year of eligibility to even enhance that chance. - just kind of dreaming thinking maybe about that type of roster chance - -IF 2/3 of those guys were to use that year could do nothing but help their chance if their are right there, a chance to improve even more - - just random thought buddy - -you could very easily be right - but you just never know. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@BShark I rewatched Cuffe’s highlight again (a few times) and holy cow can that kid jump. It’s going to be lob city with this roster.

KU with the #2 class in the Country. Never a bad thing to have two studs lined up already
-
His defense as well already, ++

The Phog’s message board has about 6-7 pages worth of “Dick” jokes.
-
A moment for all of us to feel really old
But an encounter with former Jayhawk Wayne Selden Jr., when Dick was real young, solidified his love of all things KU.
“He was working some basketball camp I was at when I was in elementary school,” Dick recalled. “And the next time I went to a KU game I saw him and he remembered me and commented on my Instagram post.”
He did not realize in the moment, but those types of encounters led to Wednesday night and made Dick want to follow in the former Jayhawks’ footsteps.

The dude is going to star at KU. I’m trying to think of who he might remind me of, but haven’t been able to come up with any comparisons yet. I’ve heard the Braun comparisons and there are worse people to be compared to if you’re a player, but I think he’s more skilled and athletic than Braun. What is he 6’8 and only a junior? Kyle Singler? The guy has handles to, could probably play point if need be. Dick and Cuffe, I’m starting to love this class.
-
I think Sam Dekker- Former Wisconsin Star is also a good comp. Will be interesting to how good he is as a Senior when the offense gets focused around him due to 4/5 of Sunrise’s starting lineup going to D1 schools next year
-
Dekker, forgot about him. Good comp.
-
Please no Kyle Singler comps

@BeddieKU23 I’m done with them! I imagine he gets sick of them.
-
Would really like to see us put the hammer on Gueye 6’11 got bounce , looks like KU & UCLA might be the front leaders according to his 247 list both of them KU & UCLA are listed as warm , always speaks pretty highly of KU

I have heard that he wants to put an end to all of the comparisons, and henceforth would like for everyone to just see him as a great in-state offensive player who wants to own the moniker of Slick Dick
-
Well I see where we are in pretty thick on a 2022 recruit. - - 6’9 SF out of Bull City NC Jai Smith. - Looking to make a decision in April after visiting the Schools he is interested in.
The 5 he lists is : - - -Memphis - - Fla , - - - Houston - - - Illinois - - - & KU : - -broke down all five said this about KU :
KU could help me be more of a Pro. Coach’s think I can be a Great , Great player as a stretch Big that can shoot the ball.
Think KU could be in a really good spot if they truly are interested, he speaks pretty solid about KU. You go to 247 and in his top 5 Schools of interest it Shows Maryland & KU as Warm others on there Cool, yet in his article he doesn’t mention Maryland - -so who knows. I think when they list those 5 schools of interest on the 247 - -those are early things change BUT KU is mentioned in both area’s - -we will see

2022 F ahjany lee has been offer by ku
-

Significant to note, he played on an Adidas sponsored team
-
@BeddieKU23 Sister playing at KSU could be a factor as well. Not that far from Lawrence to Manhattan.

Sounds like at this point really interested - we shall see. Talking about how he was working on handling the ball skills & looking forward to visiting

Tape I watched was not too bad. About what you expect from the #109 ranked player. Pretty decent rim protector, can make 3’s. Seems like a versatile modern big. Not a ton of film on him yet.

About a half hour of tape here.
But yea about all you need to know is he is a long armed dude. Pretty coordinated. Stroke looks good.
I would not expect a lot from him though. Total flyer. 11th or 12th scholarship type of guy.

Unfortunate as I love his game. If we are taking a HS guy in this class and he wants to commit early, makes sense though.

KU involved with recent Memphis decomit 4 star Arterio Morris who’s headed to the G-League. Good times
-
@BeddieKU23 Wut? Are you saying he is going G-League or we’re going after him?

ya really doesn’t make any sense to be involved with a kid if he is going G league - waste of time , could take that time and invest on a kid that’s NOT going G league
-

Both. He mentioned KU was one of several schools recruiting the hardest. It’s also expected he goes G-League which has been an option for him for a while
-
@BeddieKU23 Probably just threw out a feeler to cover our bases. Doubt that we’re investing alot of time and effort.

I’d be more concerned if we didn’t already have guys on board. Doubt they would pass on anyone hoping to get him.

Top 15 PF Kijani Wright of Los Angeles California said over the weekend KU one of 5 programs recruiting him the hardest. More importantly he’s playing on an Adidas grassroots team
One of the best rebounders in the high school game, Kijani Wright was tenacious on the glass in his first spring grassroots showing. Controlling the boards is a priority for him as he fully utilized his massive frame and played with great aggressiveness when battling inside. He is a high volume rebounder and smart player with good hands, footwork, and activity level who projects as a productive frontcourt force to be reckoned with for a winning program.
Recruitment: The top ten nationally ranked prospect says Arkansas, Kansas, Stanford, UCLA, and USC are the programs recruiting him the hardest.

@Kcmatt7 Imagine Adidas actually delivering us one of their top players.

Traditionally a Arizona/Pac 12 feeder team. I’ll believe a Cali player signs here when they step on campus
-
@BShark How long is the Adidas contract for, again?
-
All eternity probably.
The reality is we need to improve our football brand.
