'Zona gets NOA

Well, one thing that we do know is that Arizona is going to be punished more than we are - 9 total infractions, 5 of which are level ones. So taking that into account, what is the worst that 'Zona can receive? And whatever they get ours will not be as bad.
-
I know I’ll laugh when they get off easier then others
-
5 Level 1 allegations - -pretty serious stuff , Including Lack of Institutional control and failure by the University it’self. - Ol Sweaty boy gonna come out smelling like a Georgia Peach - - Watch.
-
@jayballer67 My point though, is that with Arizona having 9 infractions (five of which are level ones) there is no way that with five infractions (all being level ones) we can possibly receive the same punishment or more that they do. No way. So, guess I’m offering up a silver linings playbook. Thank you Arizona, for doing things much worse than we did

Comparing KU’s case to Arizona’s is pretty much comparing apples to oranges. There’s not much in common in regards to the specifics of the violations each school is accused of.
The best comparison to what’ll happen to KU is the NC State case and even that’s not completely the same because NC State has some charges related to their assistant coach that was caught red-handed so NC State is going to get more severe punishment than KU.
Out the cases going to the IARP from the FBI investigation, KU has the best chance of getting off with minimal punishment because a lot of the NCAA’s accusations against KU can be argued as the NCAA coercing KU in regards to the Silvio case.
I still fully expect KU to get hit with probation, loss of scholarships, and vacating games Silvio and Cheick Diallo played in, but I don’t expect any postseason bans or coaches getting hit with a show-cause like some other schools are likely to get.

@BeddieKU23 I think you’re giving Zona too much credit! We rank higher in the NCAA prestige and probably get a fairer shake than UA would. I don’t get why you’d think they’d favor Arizona?
Of course on the other hand their coach is on wiretap discussing 100,000 and Ayton and he gets a 1 game suspension and Ayton switches his commitment from them to us, so I guess maybe they do get some favorable treatment.

If I’m speaking about the elephant in the room (Nike) I’ll believe it when I see it.

@BeddieKU23 You could be right!

I don’t think Ol Sweat Boy will be able to squirm his way out of this one. - -Just to many level 1 allegations. - I think they get hit just as hard as we do
-
@jayballer67 I say they will be hit harder
-
I’m trying to imagine the NCAA going after Alabama football. That’s a fight I want to watch.

They should get hit harder but I don’t believe that will be the case

I wonder what impact Covid will play in all of this. It surely will make things different like it has in all other parts of life.

Now the NCAA’s argument is- teams should have known that Adidas was a booster. Ha
-
@BeddieKU23 By letter of the law, technically Adidas is a booster, but the rule has never been interpreted that way prior to the FBI investigation. Eventually, the NCAA Bylaws are going to get updated as a result of these cases to add a section specific to corporate sponsorship of programs.
The NCAA is using this argument as the basis of the accusations against Louisville, NC State, and KU so if the IARP rules against the NCAA in the NC State case which should be the first one to have a decision announced, then that’s a good sign for KU and Louisville on that accusation specifically.
-
A federal court said that Adidas defrauded Louisville, but the NCAA doesn’t seem to care about that. Expecting a university to police its own boosters seems reasonable. Expecting a university to police the employees of a multinational corporation not so much. The way this is being interpreted by the NCAA, it seems like they should have issues with a lot of other schools too.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich that has been one of my points all along. The way they are interpreting it you would think that they would have issue with damn near every major school.
-
They issued a self-ban on postseason play this year. Stunning and brave.
-
Lol
-
So what is the deal with these dam schools self imposing, they think this makes them all squeaky clean? – Hell they doing this trying to make themselves look good , they self imposing for this year when there is 50/50 chance we might not even have a tournament again this Season.
If I were the NCAa and Ol Squeaks came or the Ad came and said hey lookie at us we are self imposing a one yr post ban - - and we didn’t have the tourney because of COVID - if I were the NCAA I’d be saying UMM NOPE - - it’s cool you self imposing a one year ban from the tourney but here is a news flash - -your ban will be NEXT year when we do have a tourney.
These guys think if they self impose that makes it all ok - these idiots have 5 level one’s I swear if KU gets hit harder - -they should have the same results if anything - -same as we get clobbered with. -I still say the NCAA and this committee is looking to make an example out of a blue blood and it’s KU that they wanna make a statement with just clobbering us I call BS
-
This sounds like the guy who says “You can’t fire me, I quit!”
A pretty lame response to the investigation. It’s easy to take yourself out of the 2021 tournament if (a) there may not even be one, and (b) your program is in a downward trend. Just getting one step ahead of the sheriff.
