Baltimore Beat Down
-
We have pat mahomes, before the game he was 30 - 0 passes interceptions.
-
What a show. I can’t believe Lamar Jackson was held to 100 passing yards and one td.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Did you see that Mahomes’ mother doesn’t like anyone calling him Pat? ESPN showed a tweet that told the announcrs to stop calling him Pat. Very Funny.
-
Man this team is so dang good.

The absolute Mahomes slander lately is unreal. Can’t imagine watching football and thinking Lamar is better.

Under 100 is insane but last year Lamar had 6 games under 200. Of course his rushing yards are a big part of his total yardage.
-
@stoptheflop just human nature
-
Lamar is a talent. But he’s not Mahomes. I don’t know how anyone who watches the actual games can think otherwise.
I think Lamar will have an issue winning the big one because he can’t throw the ball. If I was Baltimore, I’d be drafting nothing but OL and defensive players if I was sticking with him. With Lamar the only way they are winning is old school. Elite running game and an elite defense. He’s just not an elite passer and you can show me stats but my eyes tell me something different.
-
@BShark the play calling is outrageously fun and creative!

In the post-game interview, Patrick said his dad is “Pat” to his mom, so he is Patrick.

@Kcmatt7 Lamar Jackson is out of position. In my humble, and correct opinion he should be a receiver. He is definitely a good athlete, probably has good hands and is very quick.
Which means he will not last as an NFL QB because if you run the ball as much as he does someone is going to lay him out and then Baltimore will have no QB.

I want to see Lamar come from behind. Ravens have major frontrunner vibes to me. Cian Fahey did an article that I’m obviously not going to pay for but he shared some numbers that would have you believe Lamar is somehow a better passer. Sometimes advanced stats can be VERY misleading. If you simply watch Pat throw and watch Lamar throw it’s not close. Did Andrews for Balti drop some? Yes but Lamar was still off on several throws.
All this said Lamar is a good QB as a total package, obviously. He’s 21-4 in the regular season and a very good threat running the ball.
One area where Pat is a lot better than Lamar that might not be apparent to everyone is pre-snap reads. Mahomes is actually insane pre-snap.
@Crimsonorblue22 Andy is in the conversation for best offensive playcaller all time. Definitely some bag plays last night… The Sherman TD, the Fisher TD etc…

What i think is , even if Mahomes and the Chiefs should be behind , Patrick’s composure - -his whole de-meanor is just unreal. he just walks up to the line of scrimmage and it’s like OH ok you scored? - -NOW it’s my turn - - match this - -totally like no biggie.
I was watching Get up or whatever it is this morning on ESPN and they were talking and comparing Patrick to like Lebron in Basketball. - - Patrick is the Lebron of football , he makes really good players better/great players. - Saying IF Patrick wasn’t there would Hill be AS good – would Kelse be AS good etc. - -they say don’t get me wrong these players are really good BUT Patrick is the PG makes them even better
Like I said before , I think the only way your even going to have a chance to beat KC is - - your going to have to outscore them - -you best score every single time you have the ball. - Like they said cause it seems like it really doesn’t matter you can start KC on the ONE - -you can start them in the back of the enz zone - -they gonna score - -they making it look to easy
-
Patrick is Patrick, I don’t compare him.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Just don’t call him Pat

He does a good job of not taking hits. Honestly. I’ve seen Pat take more hits than Lamar, so I don’t see him getting hurt anymore likely than Pat.
And as Bshark points out he’s been wildly successful so far in the regular season. I’m not trying to knock Lamar. He’s a good QB. But Pat is just better and the narrative that Lamar is even close is so funny.

I don’t know if anyone mentioned this. Van Pelt did last night. This is the year the other players in the league are going to recognize what the world already knows. https://www.nfl.com/news/top-100-players-patrick-mahomes-at-no-4-let-s-re-rank-the-top-10

Congrats Patrick!
-
I remember when KU played against Mahomes. He didn’t overwhelm KU defenses like he has the NFL. What did Any Reid see in Mahomes? Or is Mahomes’ success more attributable to Reid’s system and the terrific receivers on the team. Like the Belichick/Brady connection, KC has something special with Coach Reid and Patrick Mahomes.
-
@approxinfinity BUT - They’re so young. How can they afford to start a family ??
-
@stoptheflop I remember when we played them in Texas and he was the 2nd string qb, a long game, delayed game because of storms. I think. I kept thinking, he’s their 2nd string? He was killing us. So not fair, he could play all he wanted for us!

dam wonder who daddy is lol - -I know Patrick would NEVER engage in any funny business hanky panky before he got married - - lol, I’m just playing here nothing serious by any means just horsing around
-
Imagine not voting Pat and Russ 1-2 or vice versa even before the season.
Those two just play at a different level.
-
@Kcmatt7 Patrick!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I remember a game played in Lubbock where we played TT close with Mahomes at QB, then we made the mistake of knocking him out of the game in the second half. The second string QB came in and threw TD after TD to smash our poor team and my hopes for an upset.
