Dotson Hip Pointer?

Internet diagnosis’s are scary. I’m pretty sure I’m dying if I googled my symptoms. (I’m fine)

No joke. Easy to freak yourself out if you want.

Whatever you do, don’t ever search google images for any sort of disease.

  • I highly doubt they would sent him back out in a 12 point game if they believed it to be serious.

  • @dylans

If I googled my symptoms, I’d be pregnant. Quite an outstanding feat for a 61 year old dude.

  • @nuleafjhawk

    [Pregnant pause…]

  • Pain Management thing going forward. Not great, not terrible

He will play Tuesday. Need him, chances of winning are slim without

  • @BeddieKU23

Yep. I’m not sure what to expect from Devon. He may have picked the wrong career if he can’t play hard tonight with pain and being effective.

People bark about what pro athletes make. After all, they are just playing a game, right? In reality, they are not only masters of their game they have to learn how to play with pain while still being effective and still being aggressive.

Here it is… this says it all:

  • This is not a new injury I’ve heard it’s been nagging him.

  • @drgnslayr Isiah played in a different era and for great high school and college coaches that expected toughness. Today these kids are watching their NBA idols sit out the 2nd game of a back to back just to rest.

  • @BigBad

You may be right, but it doesn’t make it right. There are still guys who will bring it with pain.

Right off the top of my head I’m thinking about that Clemson quarterback who got clocked in the OSU game but still stayed out there and lead them to victory.

But yeah… this shouldn’t be the exception, it should be the standard!

Oh Course it doesn’t hurt that these trainers for these pro athletes , shoot em up numb em and give them all kind of others goodies to help ease the pain

  • @jayballer73

No doubt that happens… but it didn’t happen on the bench when he went down. He played the entire 4th quarter with his ankle the size of a grapefruit.

Pain medicine administered to athletes is a topic on it’s own and when it comes up it is amazing how it gets skirted off to the side.

  • @BShark

Certainly could explain the treatment he has been getting since the WVU game.

well could be some good news. - -You know though , if we could - -I almost think I might want to go ahead and sit him for the Texas game , even if he could go. I think we could run the same line up as Tuesday and might be ok , give Devon some additional time.

There was some mention with the hip piner a lot just depends on if/when he gets hit during a game - - a sudden change of direction will effect the hip pointer , if we could just get through yet another game give him some extra time. - Be more beneificial down the line over one game now. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • To add literal insult to injury, Self reported Agbaji hurt his back 3 minutes into the OU game and played with a back strain.

Get the bubble wrap out staff

Ya I mentioned that the other night. - - Dotson was out – -Agbaji hurt his back - -Garrett tweaked his ankle - -yippee

  • @jayballer73

I think he will sit Saturday’s game but that’s just a gut feeling after seeing the team play without him Tuesday.

If he can manage the pain and practice I say play him. I don’t know if Moss is going to put up a 3rd straight 15+ point game. Without that kind of production from him or another guard like Braun it will be difficult to win Saturday without him on the floor at least in some capacity. Texas is a much better defensive team and plays at a slow tempo while shooting a lot of 3’s, recipe for keeping a game close

Understandable , yet question is would you rather play him Saturday , possibly risk being hurt again , increase the chance of him being out longer even possible season ending for a league win or let him sit heal some more and have him or increase the chance some of having him for the rest of the season an NCAA tourney time ?

  • @jayballer73

Of course if the bigger picture is him being healthy for later sit him. This season should not be spoiled yet again by injuries to our best players (which have plagued just about every season in recent memory).

  • Sit!

As long as needed but this is a soft stretch in our schedule thankfully.

  • Crimsonorblue22 said:

kind of what I’m thinking too. - If we can , I think it would be better to let him sit a little longer - -let him heal or at least the opportunity to even if it’s just one more game

  • Marcus Garrett told Matt Tait he thinks Dotson will play this weekend

  • Garrett said he thinks Dotson will play Saturday.
