This recruitment has never felt right. His final schools all seemed odd based on his want to play PG.
I bet he announces Memphis and goes overseas.
And then most of you need to probably be okay with the idea Grimes could legitimately be back.

Just taking everything into account, how he loves KU and the coaching staff, how they have been on him from day one, how he is announcing on Get Up tomorrow morning and with his homeboy Jalen being on campus Thursday (probably accompanied by RJ) I think, like I said, that we are going to land both RJ and Wilson, but, man!, daddy is starting to make me real nervous, in a LaVar Ball kind of way. Oh well, guess we’d only have to put up with him for one year.

Last info I have is pre-draft process, but they didn’t want any part of college. Let’s hope for a Malik Newman style change of heart sans transfer. I think Grimes could have a huge sophomore year if he gets his head on straight.

RJ and Rod aren’t seeing eye to eye on this. RJ wants to play with Dotson at Kansas. Rod wants the opposite in about every way.

So the way I would see this , just like when I was that age many many many moons ago.
RJ even at the age of 18 is basically for all practical purposes is looked at as an Adult. - -at the age of 18 I was out of mommy and daddy’s house - -I was independent - -I was starting the adventure of my own life.
Now RJ’s future is pretty well written - he will be and NBA players making boo-koo money So here is what I just don’t get. - Yes I was taught to respect my Parents - - -Yes I valued their opinions. - -BUT at the end of the day - - this is or should be RJ’S -decision - it’s HIS career - -his future that we are talking about here. - - there fore RJ should be the one to say – I’m going to KU to play - - OR I’m going over sea’s - - NOT DADDY.- I if I were RJ I would be trying to in the nicest respectable way be trying to tell DAD look I value & Respect your opinion BUT this is MY future - -this is MY job
The Hamptons won’t have to worry - RJ comes to KU he has a full ride the year he is here , and is there anyone that doesn’t think he won’t help take care of his family when he is done with his one year in College - -you can bet your life - -they need financial help RJ makin that green - -he will help - -the Hampton family gonna be well taken care of by their son.
With this being about RJ’S Furure - - it should be RJ’S and only RJ’S final decision and DADDY should take two steps back and just support RJ’S decision - -he is now an adult - let RJ lead his life how RJ wants to lead HIS life. - -

Self has zero options now basically. In this instance he did get hamstrung a bit in the early part of the cycle. We will never know but I am convinced the class is all but done at this point otherwise.
I will be very intrigued to see how 2020 goes. It will need to be a large class.
