New 2019 Recruiting

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich i think so. He’s plenty old enough.

  • I see. Thanks.

  • I don’t see how they fill the 13 allotted scholarships now after missing on both Tucker and Holyfield. Might have a hard time getting to even 12.

  • Agreed. Dotson is probably back, which gives us 9. Yeah I think 11 at most.

Well, KU didn’t really go after Holyfield much. Tucker on the other hand is a clear miss.

@FarmerJayhawk I like Kyree Walker a lot. That would save the class to be sure.

I expect KU to lean a bit on Kyree Walker now.

Man I hope so – Dam I hope so - - now Farmer - don’t go and get my heart racing lol. - -1st we got to get him to re-classify , he still pondering on it - we have been pretty good with him - - BUT these are kids again we are talking about you know? - - this is the kid that they say is a positionless player - -love him cause he has edge to him - -a little cockiness to him - -I like that- - if you can ball to back it up - -then get some bad boy - -you get yours - -Serious hops - - plazy some pt - - got the J - seen my 1ast video of him the other day - - bout all I can say is - - WOW - brings a lot to the table - -now see what you did – got me all worked up again lol - - but your Right - -Kyree - -come on buddy - -come play with " the boys " - bring it with you bad boy - - your right hope we lean on him hard. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

    @FarmerJayhawk He’s still 2020, right?

Right now he is - -but seriously talking about re-classifying - - lots of smoke. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Thinking though that he had said he was just focusing on the AAU circuit right now and wouldn’t really sit down and think about it to much until after circuit was over - -isn’t that what he said, swore I read that some where on him - -NOW we really need to get after him hard – We’vew been on him for some time…

Before this Tucker BS - I was hoping Tucker land here - -we could try and keep Kyree in 2020 and then we could just slide him into the point in 2020 if and when RJ leaves - -but things have changed

    that makes 2 of us

  • Well , Well - -more interesting news - - - -things that make you go Whaaaaaaaaa? - Just saw where Andrew Slater put in his CB pick for Boogie Ellis - he picked him to commit to Oregon > - - - whaaaa? - - slater usually pretty solid, man I hope things don’t start shifting that way - all that would do would be to ad fire for the RJ to Memphis - -be just our ficken luck

I’m tellin ya - -for a team that has some many Scholi’s they can offer - a lot of playing time available - -we are sure sucking buttermilk right now – I’m not feeling it – what the hell? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • And Evan put one in for Memphis. What a deal

  • @FarmerJayhawk for who??

  • @Woodrow Boogie Ellis

  • @FarmerJayhawk Nice. So you can see the VIP picks? Someone said we reached out to him. Is that true?

We did but nothing came of it is likely hes gonna land at Memphis

  • FarmerJayhawk said:

    @Woodrow Boogie Ellis

ya I knew Evan did – Evan ALSO moved his pick for Precious from Memphis to undecided too - kind of following Cory and his pick fro Precious from Memphis to KU.

Just can’t comprehend Slaters pick for Boogie to Oregon

  • rockchalkwyo said:

I can! I’m an Inside Carolina member, mostly for their football coverage. We did, he wasn’t interested.

  • Well good news just keeps rolling in , read an article from a couple days a go that I received through my E-mail that Kentucky has made up ground in the last couple of weeks for RJ Hampton.

Says that it has been widely precepted that it was down to a two team race between KU and Memphis but the last 2 weeks Kentucky had been gaining ground according to Corey Evans from Rivals. - Right now Ku is leading for RJ at 62%.

It just keeps getting better and better and better holy crap - says Kentucky has gotten RJ interest- looks like a perfect ending to way to many misses - we know if Kentucky goes after a kid they want 9-10 they will end up getting that kid and make it work just like Duke. - - Thought we were good with him against Kentucky because of their crowded backcourt but NOW who the hell knows. – Dam

  • @jayballer73 It appears he is trying to drive his price up. Who knows…maybe it pays better to sit on the bench at Tucky than it does to start at KU.

  • Kentucky already has three 5* pgs. Not happening.

  • @BShark I think you make a real good point. Logically speaking, why would a 5 star point guard go to a university if there were already two 5 star point guards signed? If you had 50+ offers to truly run the entire show ( a little bit like Trae Young ) at practically any place you wanted to go, why would 3 5-star pgs sign to play on the same team? My answer is everyone of these kids are getting paid big bucks to play small amounts. Why would Rayjon Tucker choose Memphis, where he is sharing the limelight with a boatload of top 10 recruits…over a starring role with KU? The whole sport is corrupt…rotten to the core.

I still have serious doubts about him to Kentucky - - but you still can’t ignore things - the way our year has played out - - -at this point anything is possible in this recruiting year. - - Hell just look at how confident people were thinking about Tucker - -and then BAM the huge kick to the nads - - for Memphis - - Memphis - hadn’t been hearing squat about them in his recruitment. - It was all aboutm KU and Auburn - - MEMPHIS for Christ sakes

  • I would be genuinely stunned if he goes to UK. Memphis, KU and overseas pro league are all more likely.

exactly - -and some how – some way Ol crap for brains manages to persuade these kids to come whether they loaded or not – it’s Kentucky

  • @BShark The “Penny Bank” is open…

@BShark The “Penny Bank” is open…

Need to re-open First KU National…

Might not see a return to normal until next cycle. This was quite damaging. Business as usual and we at least have JRE and likely Hurt as well.

  • BTW, Happy Mother’s Day to all you muthas… I’m going to suck up all day today. Heck, I’m even considering allowing her to touch the remote control on the big tv today …

Yeah, I’m fixing to go spend the day with my little mom… Aww…

  • @KUSTEVE wow, big of you!😠

  • That we will sign more guys this year there is no doubt, which at this point is too obviously occurring after the other blue bloods and Memphis (Penny had better hope that he stays shiney) have gorged themselves and are full. To be honest (silver linings playbook) that might be a good thing, allow us to once again add depth.

  • Precious announcing this weekend for Memphis.

Precious announcing this weekend for Memphis.

Memphis was super serious about this class. Will be interested to see how it pans out.

  • Boogie Ellis committed to Memphis tonight

  • @FarmerJayhawk What about Blackshear?

  • Evan put in a pick for Jalen Wilson to KU 👀👀👀

Blackshear won’t look at colleges until he determines whether he’s going to stay in the draft or not.

  • Or a guy we recruited a year or two back…Shakur???

  • @FarmerJayhawk getting Jalen would be huge

  • KUSTEVE said:

Or a guy we recruited a year or two back…Shakur???

That would be amazing. Something odd is happening there. Either health or academics.

  • @FarmerJayhawk Ok… what about Jaevin Cumberland? 17.2 ppg…scored 13 against Sparty. Scored 14 against Georgia. Shot 39.9 from 3/ 47.8 from 2 …had 2 to 1 asst to t.o. ratio, and shot 85% from the free throw line. Made 109 3 pointers last year…

  • Time to realize we aren’t finding a starter at guard unless RJ ends up coming. Just going to need Garrett and Ochai to step up.

  • Kcmatt7 said:

This is where I’m at. We can add depth but R.J. is the only impact guy left out there.

  • I like Cumberland because he had 15 games where he hit at least 4 3 pointers, and 14 games where he had at least 4 assists. He averaged 1.1 steals a game to boot. He averaged 17 ppg on 12.3 spg, so it’s not like he was shooting 25 shots a game. If there’s a minute left in the game, I want our opponents fouling this guy instead of Marcus.

  • @KUSTEVE

Cumberland would be a great addition. He is transferring? Is he eligible

  • @BeddieKU23 He is eligible. He is ranked one spot higher than Isaiah Moss:

    1. Jaevin Cumberland, 6-3, 185 pounds, SG, RS Jr., Oakland The cousin of Cincinnati guard Jarron Cumberland is a big-time backcourt scorer. Averaged 17.2 points and 3.5 assists and shot 39.9 percent from 3.

  • Have there been rumors about Cumberland to KU?

  • @Kcmatt7 Yes. I’m starting it…

    LOL…

  • @KUSTEVE It seemed like he was favoring Michigan. Perhaps that changes now.
