@FarmerJayhawk thx, I wanted juice to start with, but I’m not sure where Self plays him. Wonder how his knee is?
Same here! Unfortunately for us he wanted to start and not back up Billy. Oops. I’m sure that’ll be part of the vetting process for every school. Assuming he’s healthy, sign him up

Sure looks that way. Long way to go though.

Sure looks like KU will add a bunch of guys we don’t even know the name of yet.

I think we’ll be following it into July. There will be some reclassifications (Dante, Hampton) and guys can graduate in the summer and transfer. Could be wild or pretty tame depending on Grimes, Doke, and Silvio. Get 2/3 and we’re set.
-
Here’s the list of guys I’m tracking:
Hampton Stanley Beverly Tucker Utomi Juiston Hurt Achiuwa Dante

Johnathan Givony seems to think Hurt will be at Duke
-
Same with Russ Wood and Cory Evans from rivals.com. Whoever they are
-
@FarmerJayhawk So…Does it looks like we have a good shot at Stanley or Beverly if Grimes leaves?

Corey at Rivals is legit. This one’s over guys.

At this point I’d say Stanley is more likely than Beverly, but with Charlie gone we’ll have room for both if Grimes leaves. Beverly isn’t a guy that you’d want playing 30 MPG as a freshman.
-
@FarmerJayhawk yeah he’s picking Stanley to choose KU. I’m sure you knew that already though

I knew he was bullish anyway

Who is this in regards too ?
-
Hurt
-
Damn . I have no clue how Self is going to fill this recruiting class, but if he does so effectively I will never question him again.
I’m not holding my breath though. It’s looking pretty bleak to say the least.
-
Nobody should be surprised that Nike wins that recruitment
-
It’s funny how new recruits seem to be scared away from SDSs allegations but not when it comes to Duke
-
… R.J. Hampton continues to round out his game. The five-star’s talent level and athleticism makes him elite right off of the bat. Now that he can defend multiple spots, create for others and himself and has filled out more, the production has followed suit. Kansas and Memphis are the front-runners, with Duke and Kentucky not too far behind.
From Corey Evans ( Rivals)

Most official twitter accounts for those who follow NCAAB are saying Hurt to Duke. Just sayin’…
-
@Gorilla72 yup it might be a good thing. I know a few people mentioned it but maybe recruiting too 10 players is a bad thing. They’ll most likely be gone the following year anyways.
I’m just nervous about UCLA getting Rick Barnes (which sounds very likely) and then swooping I’m on Stanley.
Every year there’s something to worry about during the off-season and Self finds a way. This year was just a perfect storm of unfortunate events happening at once. It’s certainly not the beginning of the end by any means.

If Rick does end up at UCLA he has no relationship with Stanley

So Duke out for Hampton then?

Duke is never out. That said, Memphis and KU are well positioned if Hampton reclasses.
-
Is he going to reclassify?
-
Hope so.
-
I’m just gonna say - -no evidence - nothing to really go of on - But I’m just gonna predict - -we end up with Stanley - -just like I was riding Devon’s boat for quite some time. - -Were getting Stanley
-
When is the deadline to decide whether a player can declare or return?

In 2019, yes.
-
And the way I understand it, RJ is out of eligibility in varsity TX HS competition. He’ll either transfer or go to college in 2019.

He hasn’t decided if hes going to stay at his high school or go some were eles

Offered Kyree Walker who is 2020 but already moved back a grade so could reclass. Stud wing.
-
UCLA is now recruiting Precious. That just seems like a weird recruitment all the way around.

Would take. Arkansas and Memphis the ones to beat
-
Money has always been the most important factor in that recruitment. Been hearing such for over a yr now
My good friend knows his old Jersey coach and unfortunately precious just has people in his circle that it is what it is. Whatever school gets him is just an 8 month rental anyway. A classic case of a kid that should be allowed to go pro. I dont think Roy could put up with his circle, he fits their style the best tho

That’s what I was trying to insinuate . It’s almost like they aren’t even hiding it. I mean he’s saying he is wide open to any school still.

I think the fact he visited Roy and Bill and left with those comments was alluding to that. Also that neither school could afford to risk him on their roster… unfortunate. Such a talent

@BeddieKU23 The whole money thing is making me sick.

Well I myself has some new energy/ new hope. Read an Article written by Cory Evans from rivals taking questions on recruiting - I felt some encourgement from what he had to say:
Cory was taking questions on recruiting. -he was ask the question was - - --With Tre Jones returning to Duke did this make Memphis the leader for RJ ? - - his response was - - -Well Memphis was the 1st program to host Hampton for an official back in September. Said he visited KU last month - - said he could also visit Duke & Kentucky in the coming weeks - - these 4 make up his final lists and with a crowded back court at Kentucky & the return of Tre Jones to Durham that it might be really difficult to see him at either with his desire to be used on the ball.
Cory then went on to say - -HOWEVER do not count out KU. -Charlie Moore just transferred out and there are some question marks surrounding Quentin. - - Cory said Devon will return to KU but Kansas - is still Kansas and that KU sits in just as good of a spot with Hampton as Memphis - -Gives me hope - would be huge.
Then Cory was asked - – What’s the latest on Precious and the School that he feels he goes to?
Cory responded saying - - total toss up right now with Precious Acheuiwa - - Georgia and North Carolina are the Dark Horse’s BUT KU & Memphis might be the MORE accurate predications as to what school he ends up - -Again sound like we are leading there with Memphis - -would be another huge pick up
If we were to end up with Precious and RJ would really turn our recruiting lass into a very nice class. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer73 “… our recruiting lass”
Hmmm, that might get us in trouble.
-
@jayballer73 so, are you calling it? That we are using the asses of lasses as a recruiting tool?
-
Brewtal transfer rumors, gutted roster potentially…a dizzying time to even begin to contemplate next season. Getting completely outclassed in NCAA tournament only mitigated by fact we were up/down all season, lineup changes degraded from preseason#1 down to starting 4 frosh. At least McCormack got developmental experience. Dedric plateaued talent, might as well earn Euros or fringeNBA money. Good luck to Moore in some mid major conf, he can start rt away at D2 level. KJ passing on a chance to be a versatile wing at 6’7.
Hope Silvio’s appeal after time-served will allow some eligibility this coming season, can only hope. Garrett, Dotson, Mitch all better shoot 600 3s/day in practice. Learn to play D from Self like TxTech and Va. proved you can with current rules.
So far Bruce Pearl has proved he can beat a veteran KU roster with 4 walkons, or he can cut & paste a non-veteran KU roster into the Tourney-discard-heap with equal gusto complete with made-for-camera-replay coach poses. He has definitely figured out the biz-corp approach to college bball, and is surprisingly good at it. Not sure I’d go so far as to say I’m personally entertained though. The fact he gutted 3 royalty programs in succession is a remarkable occurrence, though. We just cant seem to get 3ball defense consistently. Sigh…
-
Now that season is over, safe to say my favorite exTexTech player is…Patrick Mahomes.
