Another huggie bear product bites the dust.
Late-breaking news here: #WVU guard Beetle Bolden has left the team. Not dismissed, per source. Was not with the team against Iowa State. Bob Huggins said Tuesday Bolden was set to graduate in May. Could be a grad transfer somewhere next season.

The entire league looks likely to have a nuclear transition. It’s gonna get buck wild
-
@BeddieKU23 Is KU going to have the least turnover? That would be hilarious.
-
WV and ISU have gone down super quick, glad we aren’t reaching that low.
-
Certainly possible.

WOW - -this has turned into a train wreck. - - and yet look what they did with Iowa State - -I truly believe contrary to show - -I truly believe this coming week in the Big 12 tourney , this thing is - - gonna be WIDE OPEN - yes - even with K-State & Tech - they are by far not a lock to be playing in the title game, - -odds might be better - but I’m telling you right her - -right now -with the way things have happened with this league this year – look the hell out. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

That other guard, McCabe? is doing really well!
-
Desmond Bane going off for TCU has 30 with like 8 minutes left. - -TCU kickin Texas and Shaka’s butt. - -Still can’t see how then being 0ne win over 500 and they have then in solid in the tourney - -heard like a 10 seed today. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

The worst part of this is now KU will catch a Texas team fighting for their tournament life. Not cool
-
Joe Cremo ain’t it. I’m pretty okay with not landing him.

Eh, I really don’t care about the Big 12 tourny.
-
Nova 22-9 in the garbage big east
-
Texas Tech I swear to god…
-
@BShark You are right. In the scheme off things the B12 tourney doesn’t matter a ton…our performance could move us a seed or two…which might, I say might, be important. However…this year, more than any, it might be pretty sweet to win it. I don’t expect that to happen. But I would not be shocked. Clearly, Tech is the favorite.

Ja Morant is special. Balling out in their final

That dunk just now was ridiculous!
-
Morant was a true legit DITR that was recruited by basically no one.
-
@BShark I’ve been able to watch a bit and he is damn good for a kid that no one wanted. Dude is just a Sophomore averaging 24 points and 10 assists a game. You see some guys like that for the small schools from time to time like the Curry’s, McCallum’s and that Woodside kid from NDSU (just the guys that played us) that dropped 40 on Sherron Collins in the first round in 2009, Collins always claimed he was the toughest guy he ever guarded while at KU. It’s really not that surprising when you think about how Graham and Mason could’ve been players at Towson and Appalachian State. Those guy could’ve averaged 25 plus for those team because they prob would’ve had to shoot the ball twice as often for their team to have a chance. Its gotta be a tough job rating these kids and deciding who to go after because a ton of kids look great in high school and AAU ball has turned into the NBA all star game, where no one plays defense. The most shocking thing about Morant is he played AAU ball on the same team as Zion for a couple of years. So just about every major school prob saw the kid play a time or two. I wouldn’t sleep on Murray State for sure, because anytime you have the best player on the court, you have a chance to win. The rest of the Davidson team has experience but was average at best but having Curry gave them a chance.

I’m so impressed with how he is a dominant left hand player while shooting righty. He draws contact with the best of them and makes them. So unselfish out there for a star player. Rooting for Murray in their first round game

Northern Iowa v. Bradley…hmmm, who to root for or against there.

Uggggggggggggggggggh.
-
Man I really like watching these smaller conference tournaments. They really go hard to get a chance to play next week.
-
Wisconsin headed to OT after leading by over 20 points. Ohio state closed game on a 16-1 run in just over 5 minutes

I’m torn between the refs or a fire…

Legit question, why is Purdue ranked so high? Same record as KU (going into last week) and their only high quality win is against Michigan State (Iowa, Maryland, and Indiana are decent wins, I guess).
-
@dylans Margin of Victory. When they win, they are winning by quite a bit.
-
Going 17-3 in their last 20 games will do it. I know they didn’t look good at all earlier in the season. Carsen Edwards has been terrific all year long for them. A lot of wins against nothing. Must be nice to play your last 7 games against non-ranked opponents. As usual Purdue underachieves in the tournament so if they get a high seed I’m picking them out by first weekend
-
@dylans Purdue won at Wisconsin too.
-
And St Marys just beat Gonzaga - -by 13. - -Controlled most the game on practically Gonzaga home away from home - -look out for St Marys. - - Gonzaga had beat these guys by 48 early in season. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
I guess Gonzaga validated themselves a few years back when they nearly lost the NC, but I’m just tired of Gonzaga. I’m not impressed when they beat up a crap league year after year. Then everyone crows about their championship streak and what a great program. Average margin of victory this year 27 points in their undefeated league season. Whoop De Doo! Let them play a real schedule. Sure they beat Duke early on. I’m not saying they’re a bad team, but they just need to get themselves into a good league so they can win conference titles against good teams. Like the Big 12!
-
@wissox What conference would Gonzaga join? They don’t have a football program which severely limits their options. They only possible option would be the Big East, but would they join a conference where their closest road game is about 1400 miles and 2 time zones away?
-
Gonzaga would raise the profile of PAC 12 basketball. And the PAC12 already has plenty football teams. They wouldn’t be a terrible fit in the Big12 either. You could maintain the round robin in both sports if you so desired. Two more quality conference basketball games against Gonzaga is a great trade off for two crap non-con games.
-
@dylans Gonzaga does not have a football program which is required for membership in both the PAC 12 and Big 12. BYU basketball is in the WCC because the Mountain West wouldn’t let BYU stay as a non football member.
Gonzaga is already in the highest profile conference in the western part of the U.S. they can be in. The only option really would be the Big East, but the logistics of that would be really bad for Gonzaga because the closest Big East program currently is Creighton which is about 1400 miles and 2 time zones away.
-
Gonzaga has considered jumping conferences before in the past, nothing new here. Their conference was ranked 8th this year. Not much they can do but hope other programs within the conference continue to improve themselves. BYU has too many restrictions and too many that go on missions to stay competitive. Saint Mary’s has done the best they can with their niche. It is what it is for Zaga. Not their fault
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I was not really looking for that very hypothetical proposition! If I were them, I would be proposing a basketball only arrangement with the Pac12. Like, why not? Their schedule gets more challenging if they do. But as others have said, I doubt that would happen too.
As for the strength of their current conference I can’t even tell you who they play in that league. I’m quite sure BYU, I know St. Mary’s is too, maybe San Diego State, Nevada? I know I can look it up but that ruins the point. I know the strong conferences because right now I could name every SEC, BIG, ACC, Big12 team without barely thinking about it. The others start to get muddled in my mind like the BigEast and the AAC. I do know the Ivy league teams too!
-
@wissox WCC has Gonzaga, St. Mary’s, BYU, San Francisco, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, San Diego, Pepperdine, Pacific, Portland (listed in order of current standings). According to the WCC website, the only WCC Men’s Basketball NCAA Championships were won by San Francisco in 1955 and 1956.
-
TCU just blew a 21 point lead in 16 minutes. Tie game 38 seconds left
-
TCU hangs on 73-70, OSU took their first lead with 26 seconds left. Bane then drill a 3, Waters missed a pull up and Robinson canned 2 free ones to seal.
-
Oklahoma lost to Huggy Bear. Sorry Lon your group doesn’t belong in the tourney. Interested to see where their bubble hopes lie after that
-
@BeddieKU23 another reminder of how trash the bubble is.

For Power 5 yes.
I would love to see the Belmont’s, Limscomb’s of the world in. Happens every year though. The tourney has to have the crap 7-10 ACC and Big-10 teams in

omg Zion is playing today. Cancel all your evening plans
