Its a Nice campus… My eldest daughter is a senior there studying chem and bio-engineering. Very affordable. High academic quality, Very friendly overall atmosphere from the staff to the student body, but of course a definite hate of Jayhawk basketball which is understandable. They tried VERY hard to remain cordial when I wore my Jayhawks t shirt to orientation 3 years ago. I couldn’t help it
We are trying to steer our 11th grader to KU though
-
@Bosthawk wow, that took some
-
But then again, hoiberg’s daughter went to KU.
-
Weiler-Babb still playing?
-
@wrwlumpy ej’s game, one of my favorites! Weathermax, scary!
-
@wrwlumpy “Iowa Williams” just wouldn’t have had the same panache.
-
@wrwlumpy I laughed when EJ made that last dunk that made ISU fans cry. In the book beyond the streak, EJ said he did it because the year before in a loss in Ames, a fan spit right in his face. I really wish he’d played better in the Michigan game. I hate thats my last image of him in a jayhawk uniform because he was so good those last 2 years.
-
Having Wigginton back healthy makes a huge difference for ISU. They may very well be undefeated had he been available all season. They are starting to extend his minutes, but there’s a question of how good his conditioning is right now since he has only played in their last two games. Him being out allowed some other guys to step up, however, so ISU may be a bit deeper as a result.
-
It’s probably going to be similar to the ASU game in terms of the kinds of calls made by the officials in the game. The only difference is that Fran Fraschilla will be there to validate the calls against Kansas and question the calls against Iowa St. Can’t wait!
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich wonder if there will be features on any of our players?
-
Iowa State fans pretty happy , feeling that their guards should be able to pressure our Freshmen Guards as they say we have been having problems taking care of the ball. --Talking about how our shooting hasn’t been very good. - -which is true - -but guess what they haven’t been seeing is Devon is handling the ball better- -go ahead pressure him - -watch him blow right past you.
They feeling good too cause the ESPN prediction forecaster has Iowa State at a 58.8 chance compared to KU’S 41.1 percent chance of winning the game ?- - -Now let me ask how many here would just be totally stunned IF KU did get beat tomorrow? - -I wouldn’t - -but the deal is a 58 % to 41 % ? - -sounds a little off the wall to me. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer73 I wouldn’t be shocked at all. I think they will lose. It is a hard place to play as it is. We have lost up there with way better teams.
-
On his 8th season there
-
ISU is -1 at the moment.
-
I don’t get the ISU love from ESPN. I’ve seen them a couple of times on TV and haven’t been that impressed with them.
-
Wow, the kid from Simeon, Tucker, saw him a lot last year on HS highlight shows here in the city. Doing great work for the Cyclones. He’s going to be a thorn in our side for a while because he’s not a OAD.

Line is now Clones -3

@Woodrow That means a whole bunch of dumb gamblers will be doubling up on football tomorrow to cover their losses…RCJHGKU…

This will be interesting to see how the game plays out, we’ve talked about how the conference is more defensive this year but if we were to get into a shootout I’d bet it being in one of the ISU games. And that could get dicey with our inconsistency on offense. ISU already has the best average points and fg% in the league with making the second most 3s. The thing that’s scary to me is I think they are better offensively than they’ve shown with the guys they’ve had out with injuries. I think as odd as it seems being a KU fans and saying it, the game could be outta reach if we let up 80-85 points. When I look at most of our close games we gave up over 80 (MSU, Tennessee, Stanford and ASU) and we lost the only one on the road. I think we need to get a little smarter on the perimeter, Dedric can’t be shooting long 2s and 3s like he did for a stretch against OU, that’s just not his game (17% from distance on the year, worst on the team). Dotson needs to shoot more, he’s hitting 42% from 3 point land and Grimes needs to slow down his release as he did in the first half Wednesday. Vick just needs to get a few to go in, he’s in a mini slump (5 of last 23). I still get shocked about the amount of teams that don’t zone us, especially this year.
-
Looking at ISU’s starting lineup…Isn’t that a matchup problem for us with our 2 big guys? Maybe not when Lard comes in. Of course, it is also a matchup problem for them.
-
Gotta like Kentucky losing just now
-
Dok is out for today’s game. Minor wrist injury, but HCBS is sitting him for precautionary reasons.
-
Well that’s not good news at all. I was thinking he’d have a big game today

Sucks, huh… I can’t link the tweet, but the announcement said Dok is afraid it’s the same injury as last year. Announcement says different hand, different injury.

To me it sounds like Bill thinks he could play but Doke is hesitant. ( which is fine)

-
Doke is becoming - -a injury looking for a place to happen
