Agreed- game practice, practice game- get ready. Although once conference play starts, it seems like we have more of a “get er done” attitude. Hoping we do again this year.

Cool! James Thompson #2 was a freshman student at my school. I’d totally lost track of him, I know he’d had some legal issues, but he made it up to ypsi apparently. We called him tree because he was tall. Glad to see he’s doing well.

I have an opportunity to go to this game and I am looking for some guidance on parking. Can someone advise parking options.

@AsadZ There are dorms at the top of the hill, to the west of AFH. Just park up there and walk down. Students are gone, so no issues. When students are back, there are spaces available in the first lot west of the northern most dorm (Templin).

We always do the park n ride. 3 bucks.

I always look for a college kid selling parking in their yard a few blocks south and east of Allen Fieldhouse. That way you can give some kid $10 and you can park just far enough away to be out of traffic.

@dylans We usually go park south there on 19th just down from the corner of Naismith and its 10 or 20, that guy will put like 10 cars inn his yard. Easy money lol

Back in the old days you could go into Naismith hall and buy a pass for $10

Uber or Lyft. Dropped me off and picked me up at NE corner of AFH. Convenient and cheaper than many parking areas.

@wissox I go to a couple of Eastern games a year and I always wondered how Thompson ended up at EMU. Although his scoring isn’t real high, he seems to have a lot of physical tools. Maybe whatever issues were there kept him from being highly recruited (only guessing on that). Anyway…I’ve always liked him as a player.

@Hawk8086 I do recall now seeing a story about him a couple of years ago. As I recall, he just went through some tough times. He was from an extremely tough neighborhood where I taught. After his freshman year, he got recruited to play ball at a private school. But a year or two later was in some hot water. I think it was a domestic incident. I’m absolutely thrilled that he is a senior in college and a productive member of a DI team. I will be cheering for him Saturday for sure!.

I hate to give away my secret, but street parking off one of the side roads off of Naismith towards 19th st is the cheapest way to park (free) and it’s typically not too far of a walk. Most importantly, it’s a completely flat walk…

Has anyone tried the ESPN+ replay for 4.99 a month? If so, is it anything like their ESPN3 with horrible quality? I’m not paying 4.99 a month for poor quality.

I was able to use @HighEliteMajor suggestion and park in Ellsworth hall parking and walked to AFH, it was a very cold day but certainly worth the trip.

@truehawk93 i have been using ESPN+ To watch the games this season. Way better than the old ESPN3 pay per view. But, that was the last game, so I’m going to cancel my subscription if I can figure out how.

@jayhawkcsg If you have trouble cancelling, go to the “All questions” part of the FAQs for Managing My Account. Method of cancelling depends on how you signed up. Also an 800 number in there. Deleting the app DOES NOT cancel.

Thx @mayjay. I have been having trouble canceling. Tried for an hour or so to figure it out, and found nothing but roadblocks. I’m not a genius, but i did go to college. Should not been this difficult! I signed up through the ESPN app on my android TV. Trying to cancel thru there got me nowhere. I eventually called the 800 number, and even they couldn’t figure it out. C’mon. So, after half an hour on the line, i’m not sure where i left off. They eventually asked for a Google Play account number (dunno why), and the guy said he’d close it up for me, and abruptly hung up without telling me when and what to expect. So, it’s still working…insane. Fingers crossed. Anybody else cancel? How did you do it?

@jayhawkcsg Go to espn.com. Click on your account icon at the top right of the espn home page, then click on “manage my espn+ subscription.” It should give you the option to cancel it.

The manage subscription part said I had no subscriptions. I had to e-mail them. They got back to me the next day saying it was cancelled. No hassle.

@jayhawkcsg you will still have it till your due date even after cancelling.
