2020 Recruiting

I mean we have Zeke, JRE and Stanley all deciding by the end of November. So I’m glad he is making them the priority.
I would say that getting a bunch of Juniors in for a game like Nova would be dope. Bring in like 5 together. Definitely make it all about the hype and atmosphere this visit. And then basketball the next one.

I agree the current class is more important and you run the risk of planning too far ahead without knowing what you can sell.
Duke is a bit different from even KU in how they recruit/build their roster. Just pointing out that an elite school such as KU can definitely get younger kids on officials. Definitely could have been the case for Bryce Thompson who’s got ties to the program and visited for Late Night.

In a recent article on Rivals Greg Brown said KU is among the 5 schools watching his games the most along with UK, Texas, A&M and UCLA.
Did UVs to UT and A&M. Not taking recruiting too seriously yet. Focusing on improving as a player. Doesn’t plan to do any JR OVs.
I really hope KU is in this one. Along with Cade Cunningham and Julian Strawther this kid is one of my absolute favorite players in the loaded 2020 class.

If recent history continues with Baker in the 19 class Brown is basically Shaka’s right?
I know Brown has had interest in KU for a while but we seem to lose these battles to the home town school.

6’1’’. Big talent. Hard to see Indiana letting him get away but hey he has to be paying his own way for this KU visit and an exhibition no less so surely he has some interest in KU.

ya agree with you at this point. - -He is coming on an un-official , so yep it’s his dime and like you said an exhibition no less. – You would have to think cause of that - he has to have some moderate interest anyways

Lately there’s been some concern in Adidas and their programs that Nike has used the trial to get in deeper with some guys. UK and Oregon are shaping up to have monster classes.

If true Nike opened the door for the FBI to drop the hammer. Surely someone slipped up along the way. That’s making the major assumption that the FBI cares about corruption across NCAA basketball and not just smearing ADIDAS.

Julian Strawther will take 5 official visits during his Jr year. KU is not one of them and KU wasn’t listed as among the schools recruiting him. KU staff is all in on Ochai it seems or pursuing others

Agree he’s one of my favorites in the 2020 class. I don’t see any blue bloods involved which I think is odd so I wonder if the officials are just the benefit of the rules change, get some schools out the way that he may like but when he gets serious others get involved. I just can’t see a player of his caliber going through his recruitment without some bigger programs stepping in.

I would think the 5 official visits he makes in his senior year are more important…unless he is planing to reclassify and come out early

The fight for Hampton is going to be a knockdown, drag out war. Duke is probably still the frontrunner but I haven’t heard much since he announced he was staying in 20.

Rivals posted that KU is involved with 2020 PF Isiah Cottrell 6’9 prospect ranked #76 by Rivals, #58 247.
“Kansas has been very active,” said Cottrell. “Wake Forest has been pretty active too and a few others off the top of my head it’s hard to remember them all.”
Up next, Cottrell hopes to use the rules that allow five official visits to his advantage as he tires to sort it all out.
“I know there are a few that are being set like Washington and Florida,” said Cottrell. “Kansas, possibly, I only have three more left this year so I want to make sure about visiting. I just want to make sure that I’m making the right decision.”

Jaden Springer says KU has been in touch with him among many others. I don’t see us as a major threat with him

KU keeps in contact with Josh Christopher as well out of Cali. USC probably a shoe-in but who knows…

KU prospect Miller from Morgan Park is currently two doors down from me in his moms class room. He’s Illinois’ #1 rated Junior. I’m gonna meet this kid sometime and tell him KU is a great place for someone like him. I already told his mom that.
