@DanR Realistically, firing Beaty doesn’t do anything for KU at this point. Any potential candidate already knows the job will more than likely be available after this season so you’re not really getting a head start on other programs.
It also doesn’t help recruiting because any potential recruits are going to wait until whoever the new head coach is before committing to KU unless they’re someone who’s committing to KU no matter who the coach is.
As much as everyone wants to move on from Beaty now, there’s no real benefit to firing Beaty until after game 6 when the interim will have 2 weeks to prep and make whatever changes he wants.
