With a tweet and a heavy heart

JJ Watt moves the hearts of Americans
I know it’s not a legit website. Yet can’t we still give JJ Watt some love?
-
What JJ Watt has done with his fundraising is remarkable. But this is the problem with the illegitimate media sites on the web - they can grab a true story and add it to their banner, thereby legitimizing their other stuff. Just scanning the front page of the site, I’d say 75%-80% of the stuff is fake on its face. Maybe 10% is true, and 10% is partially true, but with a significant slant towards a Russian position.
Obviously, that’s a blatant example, but if confirmation bias is playing a role and you’re looking for a site that backs up your world view, you can easily fall for those stories.
-
@DoubleDD Purely out of curiosity, how do you find or even end up on a website like that?
And JJ has been great. He’s a great ambassador for the game, both on and off the field.
-
-
@Kcmatt7 Well, it must have been hard to find any information about JJ on mainstream media because, you know, it is full of lies and cannot be trusted. Have to find alt.fact sources for Trutherism, right and left.
-
I guess not?
-
@DoubleDD We are giving JJ plenty of love. The man is amazing.

I find it so refreshing for someone like Mister Watt using his platform to just do something good. Not trying to be the center of attention. Not trying to make a name for himself. Just being apart of the solution. He just didn’t throw in his thousands of cents, but he took time/made time to be apart of the solution. He was there physically/in person carrying supplies to peoples cars. He seen a need and he created a means to fill those needs. I mean I can’t say enough about the guy.
This a stark contrast to Colin K. Who gives more time to interviews and speaking engagements than studying his craft. No doubt his New York best selling book titled, “How racism ended my NFL career” will be out on the book shelves near you real soon. Like good little sheep the masses will run out and buy a copy. As they turn the last past page they will feel vindicated. They will hold their heads high, there chests will be puffed, and the fingers/voices will be ready to defend the great abused and unfairly treated Colin K.
Meanwhile back at the bank Colin will be making huge deposits of cash into his coffers. All the why nothing will have never have really changed.
As for this site. Someone asked me how I find these so unfair and inaccurate sites. Let me ask you a question name me one site that has never been wrong about something, or hasn’t had to much of opinion to actually write a fair article? Someone else accused me of just finding sites to back up my points. Well I disagree. You see I have the brain power and knowledge to decipher through what is BS and what is not. I guess you and others lack that skill? Just like when I’m watching or reading stuff from sites you folks feel are trustworthy.
Hey for my buddy/friend @mayjay This is the Huffington Post so it must be true right? I’m not alone Mayjay.

@DoubleDD Shame on you. Using JJ Watt’s cause to further your agenda on attacking “mainstream media.”
If what you would like to talk about is why we prefer MSM sites to less reputable ones you should have just made that a topic. AND, we can give you a reason.
Credibility. The credibility of MSM is where it makes it’s money. Not propagating rumors. The two sites you recently posted are prime examples of propaganda. They lure you in with a catchy headline, say a bunch of stuff that you probably agree with, and then you share it and it happens to someone else. Those websites don’t care if they lie. Or even if their message is working. They only care about your shares. Because the more views they get the more money they get from advertisements. If CNN or WaPo or NYT or Foxnews put out a fake story weekly, they would go out of business. They are in the business of honesty, with a slight biased that usually comes from a poll or quotes that spin facts. But, they do not report false things and present them as facts.
To be honest, these tiny websites that you are sharing simply don’t have the resources to put out good or accurate news. They, more likely than not, steal the 4-5 main stories from other websites and pass it off as their own or write a 300 word blurb and insert pictures and videos to fill space. They then publish a fake story such as “Pentagon falsifying paperwork to send arms worth $2bn to Syria, report finds” to put out propaganda that somehow, some people believe.
So, we prefer MSM because they are much more credible. Not to mention that the propaganda being shared by these websites is 100% morally wrong. It is wrong on so many levels. So, if you want to continue to share these news sites that are questionable, realize that you too are doing something that is morally wrong. It makes you part of an attempt to break down our system and Democracy by sharing these propagated stories. And that is why you are seeing backlash from people.

Shame on me? Shame on you telling lies. I didn’t use Mister Watt for anything. I was just showing the great deed he has done. Sadly none of your major news outlets have followed up on the story. Had no choice but to use this site. You guys are the ones that couldn’t just focus on the story. No had to focus on the site, even though I admitted you wouldn’t like the site. Funny you mention Fox. You might want to rethink that? As the people you keep referring to as with you. Don’t see Fox as a legit News site. LMOA
What? Do you think great journalist are just born? What you think the tried and true media sites you tout as fair with just a slight basis (lmoa) create great journalist? No they go to the minor leagues and recruit. So these small news outlets you blast? There is a star waiting to be born. And when that happens they’ll be feeding you your nightly news.
You’re like a leaf in the wind. Blowing here and there just trying to fit in. Not me. I am Democracy. I want to have the debate, the conversation. I’m not going to just agree to agree. Nope not going to happen,.
Sadly you have turned my tribute to a person that I’m going to admire (and even buy his jersey)(Got one ordered) into a no sense argument.
Also noticed you’re speechless about the Huffington Post link. LMAO.

Yes shame on you. Again, I have no idea how you found the site. But if you use a search engine, there is plenty of MSM still popping up. In fact, SPORTS sources. Websites that specifically talk about sports reported on the same thing. If you didn’t want to talk about your source, you shouldn’t have said anything about it. Nobody would have said anything.
Examples of what popped up when I googled “JJ Watt Hurricane.”

First of all, the website that you just posted is not where MSM would recruit for journalists. That isn’t the minor leagues, it is the professional league of scamming. MSM gets their journalists from small newspapers and websites that actually show some credibility. Again, not propaganda websites like you have been posting.
You’re like a leaf in the wind. Blowing here and there just trying to fit in. Not me. I am Democracy. I want to have the debate, the conversation. I’m not going to just agree to agree. Nope not going to happen,.
I have yet to see you actually have a debate with someone. Either your reading comprehension skills are so poor that you usually can’t even understand what the person is asking or you just ignore their response. I’m ok with you calling me a leaf in the wind, knowing that most of your posts stem from pure ignorance.
I believe that this quote says what I feel towards you at this moment much better than I could say it myself:
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” ― Isaac Asimov
Sadly you have turned my tribute to a person that I’m going to admire (and even buy his jersey)(Got one ordered) into a no sense argument.
I’m happy that you did that. I hope that JJ turns your jersey purchase into another donation of some sort. I’m sure that he will. I actually don’t find this to be a “no sense argument.” I find it to be further proof that you really aren’t willing to engage in conversation. At least a coherent one. I sincerely asked how you found a site like that. Yet you didn’t respond to that question. So, I’ll ask again. where/how did you find that site? Perhaps you will answer it this time? I’m sorry if you feel that I railroaded your post. I was not the one who mentioned the source. You did. And nobody would have said a word about it if you hadn’t. So, it does lead me to believe that there is still resentment on your end from the last time that you posted a site and were criticized. But yet, you did it again. I find it to be a fascinating, almost child-like behavior. You are testing to see what you can get away with. How far can you push the limits of posting a strange site in our llittle community. It is entertaining, at least during a long offseason and what looks to be another disappointing football season.
Also noticed you’re speechless about the Huffington Post link. LMAO.
I’m not speechless. I just don’t know what you think you are accomplishing by posting it. First of all, Huffington Post was the original site created by Andrew Breitbart. You know the guy who started Breitbart.com and was the unofficial voice of Trump throughout the election? Huffington Post is not MSM. Not only that, but the survey that they used in the article, only interviewed 1,000 people. Or, .000000310 of the U.S. Population. Statistically, you can estimate those numbers out over the U.S., sure. But to do that, you would have adjust for standard deviations, or rather, that poll is so tiny it would be safe to say the numbers are 99.99999979% worthless. Especially because the poll was taken, mostly, by those WHO READ THE HUFFINGTON POST DAILY. Which is the same type of person who believes Breitbart articles. Which is the same type of person who is so ignorant that they think the Huffington Post is MSM. So of course, they don’t trust the media. They, for God only knows what reason, go dumpster diving for information on sketchy websites that aren’t real news but just some random person who is looking to brainwash people and make money from those zombies sharing their fake work and infecting others with the disease.
So, are you sure that you even wanted to post the HuffPost article? Do you have any defense to the survey they used being only 1000 people and then applying it to 323M people? Do you have any defense to the site being created by the same man who created another propaganda site in Breitbart? If not, I don’t think you want to use a Huffington Post article as a source to anything.
-
You mentioned no Major news Outlets. Well unless you consider Sports Illustrated as a news outlet. Lmoa.
Um Huffington post is like the most liberal website there is. And as I’m dealing with mostly LIberals. I thought I would use one of their websites. Lmao. So are you saying Breitbart is a legit website? I mean after all, from your research they created the most liberal website on the internet in Huffington Post.
Hey Truthfully I don’t believe in polls. Yet I know you do and your liberal friends do too. Just like election night when you and your boys were popping champagne bottles to celebrate. How did that turn out? Lmao. Oh and midterms just to let you know? You might be disappointed again. So hold off on the Champagne. Lmao.
I love how you skip over the points I make. You ain’t going to hurt me feelings. I’ve dealt with brain dead folks like you before. “Well if it ain’t on CNN then it isn’t true”. Lmao. Also how do you know where the major news outlets recruit from? I’m thinking your making an assumption. I’ve seen cats come off YouTube making a name for themselves. Seriously think about it. Major news outlets are still a business. They have to have viewership to continue. Don’t forget that.
Keep posting your dribble, and I’ll keep laughing. And that fake news site I posted actually posted a true article. I wander how many more articles are true? Lmao
OH and the other one I posted? Turns out to be true too. Though I have to admit it was a bit tainted.
Tell you what? To keep the peace. You keep getting your news from the Major news outlets and I’ll will search the dark places of the internet for my news. One can be lead like the pipe piper and one can be enlighten. I’ll let you figure that one out.
OH and remember Fox news is not a legit news sight. Just ask the crowd you call we.
One more thing sorry for being rude. Yet I feel you’re being rude with me first. Wrong or right. I’m just giving it back to you.
Truthfully the conversation is no good. Just two persons venting. It helps no one. Except You and I. It really is pointless. I’m not happy with you as you took my topic, a topic to show tribute to someone that is doing good and the right thing into political crap. Why don’t we call it a truce? Really?
-
Time to try another topic.
