told them if they don’t lay it out on the line like that every time they need to just hang it up and go home.

Any of them take you literally? Either by going home, or, as my gson would do, by going out to lay on the line as you told them?

  • @mayjay No, they said “Coach, we think you need a timeout. Your face is getting really red, and there is a crawdad in that ditch over there I want to chase”

  • @Blown didn’t you mess up your teeth playing b ball?

  • @Crimsonorblue22

Yes, January 2015. I took two years off because of that scare. I’m back to playing 2 hours every Monday and Wednesday at the rec. My brother is 40 and hasn’t quit yet, so I can’t let him outlast me!!

  • @Blown just so he doesn’t outsmart you! You will have a few others to take care of! Spoken like a true mom!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 If I didn’t think every rebound was mine I probably wouldn’t get beat up as much.

  • in other news Connecticut down one with a minute and Wichita State leaving for the AAC.

  • @Blown wsu for sure? Missed the sports

  • Sports Report: Wichita State could leave for the AAC as soon as next season Rob Dauster,NBC Sports 12 hours ago

Wichita State is in advanced talks to leave the Missouri Valley for the American Athletic Conference, and the move could happen as early as next season, according to a report from Sports Illustrated. There’s strong mutual interest between both sides, and sources said that a final decision could be made within the next month or in as few as the next two weeks. Any decision would need to be approved by the American Athletic Conference’s presidents, but the mutual interest is strong enough where neither side sees any looming issues. …

  • When I first read it I thought it said ACC and I was not liking what I was seeing…

  • I knew they were working on it

  • U conn gal was pretty dramatic

  • @mayjay

When I first came to KU in the late 70s, KU offered a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies that basically required 120 credits of any kind; however and to the best of my recollection, that degree was done away in the 80s since it was determined that in the real world it did not have much value. It is possible that it could have been reinstated later but I would not think it would be.

As far as I know, the School of Liberal Arts covers many disciplines and the people in that program usually pick a primary major and sometime a minor as well. I am more familiar with the sciences degrees where the degree is more specific such as Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science…no question what you studied and what your degree is. 😎

  • I wouldn’t have called it

  • Wow!!

  • I voted for that coach when I was voting for the Naismith awards. Didn’t know him from Adam

  • @JayHawkFanToo As I said, from the website.

  • She was told she was to small 🤔 Hmmmm?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Happens in women’s bb, too! Probably 5 ft or less in early hs. Lots of schools trying to get height nowadays.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Thank you, this is greatly appreciated, so yes it sounds like it could be many, many things -good for Frank wish him nothing but greatness in his future, - - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @mayjay ya it does sounds very uh complex to me, I guess that why I never made College lol, hell I don’t even know what half of the degrees are good for little lone try to major in lol. - -My major if I were in college would of probably lasted 1 semester it would of been " advanced drinking and partying 101 sad yes I know but hey what can I say. Props to Frank - - that’s why I probably ended up working for the State of Kansas as a drivers license examiner issuing license to all the lovely teens - -sorry guys lol - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @dylans WOW, 377 dollars an hour - - - OK guess I won’t be checking into that lol, na thanks for the info appreciated. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Blown LOL - -well you gonna be a very rich individual then , more then likely already are with that psychology degree - -but you get that cup of coffee for a quarter oh ya you got it going on awesome lol - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @dylans LOL, a little to late for this ol geezer to get any kind of degree lol - -well might major in how to get along with the wife lol - -wonder how much one of those costs lol. - – - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @drgnslayr Well -depends on what color the Ribbon was lmao. - -If anything other then Blue for first, then you better pick up the slack lmao. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I remember coaching kids in a program called CAA. - - different ages 4th , 5th , and 6th -graders. - -coached both football and basketball. - -Got so much enjoyment out of that , the experiences, different happenings crazy. - -I remember had this one boy, he was something else, ha had to always keep track of the little guy for sure - -if he wasn’t playing at the time it was the football you could almost always find him behind the bench playing in the dirt lmao, Come to realize he must have been figuring out - -THE NEXT PLAY lol, or it was classic to be in a time out talking about certain plays to run, and then have a boy speak up so proudly about a play he had made maybe from a quarter before lmao, kinda like ummm HUH lol.

Then of course I had some years had some really good teams, had a team where we hadn’t been scored on all year, and it was like the next to last game of the year and we were just whooping the dog out of this team felt so bad, they were let’say umm not quite as good, and we were up I think like 62-0 - -and some of the parents of the other team were upset- -thought I was running up the score, thought I should be suspended, because of it - -BUT hey what could I do - -Hell I swapped my QB and my starting running backs for 3 of my offensive linemen and BAM the 1st time one of my offensive line touched the ball 80 yds and a TD, BUT you know what? - -I wouldn’t trade those times for anything in the world - -special times. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Blown Boy that sounds soooo familer, only my one boy wanted to draw in the dirt lmao. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Liberal arts degree requirements. It’s more difficult than you might think to get one course from 15 different departments. That means you will definitely have to take a few courses you wouldn’t have chosen for yourself. It’s a pretty broad degree.

    @dylans

Absolutely. Better… get a degree in something you are interested in, regardless of the associated professions around it.

I disagree with this one. If you’re going to get a degree in something you’re interested in, I would highly recommend either double majoring or getting a minor in a useful career field.

This next part addresses another question further up about the difference between a BGS and a BA degree at KU. A BA degree within CLAS mean you took 4 semesters of a foreign language while a BGS required a minor in place of the foreign language requirements. When I graduated in 2010, I got a BGS in History with a minor in Geography. History was what I was interested in, but a history degree by itself isn’t the most praticla degree unless you’re going to grad school which I had no intentions of at the time. I hedged that by getting a minor in Geography with an emphasis in GIS so I could use that to try and get into the oil and gas industry since I planned on moving back to Houston after I graduated and that is one of the biggest job fields here.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10

    Good idea to hedge.

  • There is a certain kind of intelligence in just knowing who you are and what you care about. It’s hard to measure, yet might be the most important kind.

  • @bskeet Self awareness worked for us too. It put food on the table our entire life & no one ever missed a meal. BTW skeet, I remembered you guys in church again today… Keep that faith strong.

  • @Blown Add abt 7 years & the crawdad will become a teen age girl… Till then, those guys are all yours…NOW go out there & git em’ ! After 12 all bets are off !

  • @globaljaybird ha ha! Had to go back and read blowns post.

  • My wife unfortunately has an English degree KU and unless you wanna teach English, it is completely useless. I went to trade school which is okay in some fields but for me it’s working my tail off just to survive. I always joke I’m the poorest fella on here. Lol.

  • @kjayhawks If she does teach English, I commend her. Language arts is the most needed skill in almost everything students will undertake, and unfortunately there are fewer and fewer dedicated English teachers passing on their mastery each year as kids see it as unimportant and play video games instead of reading.

  • @kjayhawks does your wife want to teach? Wouldn’t take much more to get certified or sub teach. Don’t sell yourself short! plenty of people w/more money and a lot less blessed!

  • @kjayhawks lOL oh my friend I would have to give you a stiff challenge about being the poorest on here. Here I am 63 yrs old on Social Security disability and barely make 1,000 a month lol, so think maybe just a little less then what you have - not sure, but would be willing to take a shot, I know what you mean about trying to survive lol. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 I consider myself rich, but I don’t have much money. My kids are pure gold (to me).

I always found it amazing when I’ve gone to Jamaica how happpy most of the people are inspite of making on average $2500 per year. Then again they live in paradise…, but instead of focusing on the negative they completely enjoy what they have.

I try to take that approach to KU basketball, but losses still suck!

  • Jamaica in 2 weeks, woohoo!

  • @jayballer54 Frank’s bidnezz is the scoring bidnezz. He’s got a Masters in it. Just give him the ball, and watch the magic.
