KU and Apples vs Izzo's Freshman Game Thread
-
Josh set freshman record for 23 pts in tourney game
-
Yupp I figured that was a dig to them. Seems how they blame his mother for everything. They are not even worth the time
-
I said KU woul win comfortably by double digits…close enough?

Is that a real record? Wow way to go JJ.
-
-
KU FR record right?
ISU fans care about basketball, probably the only other fanbase in the Big12 besides KU that care.
-
Figured some would know the connection. Josh would be at MSU if it weren’t for his dastardly mother. It’s not like Josh has said himself that he just liked how Self cared about him as a person and that he meshed with KU’s players well in a basketball sense.
-
-
I don’t care who you are? JJ is a Jayhawk. Would love to have him back. Not going to happen.
-
Did call my aunt that is a UM grad. Her daughter married and MSU grad. It was a solid day for us. HAHA.
I’ll be cheering for UM until they would potentially be playing KU.
-
The monster is growing. Who is the Monster? KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Beware of the Phog and Mason.
-
@BShark I hope the whole world heard what izzo said about how classy josh was calling him about his decision, most oad’s don’t do that!
-
MSU fans were mad at Izzo lol.
-
Where is our boy @KUSTEVE ??? Something is wrong?
-
Does Franks recent FG% drop hurt his POY chances? He was at 52% from the floor and 50% from 3 til a few weeks ago. His 3 % should still be 46% but floor % is probably around 45% after today. Obviously winning the NC is the main goal and I don’t care what his numbers are as long as we advance but would be nice to get a POY for the first time since Danny Manning.
-
There is my boy @KUSTEVE
-
I absolutely love this will kill mentality. These boys came to play today and have kept their feet on throats in both games. Hats off to MSU they played us tough and then we just buried them.
-
@DoubleDD I was wondering too. Glad to see ya STEVE.
-
Really nice win. I think we looked like a national championship team.
-
in the middle of a fantasy baseball draft. gotta split- RCJHGKU.
-
um YOU WAITED TOO LONG TO POST. ummmmmmmmmm DON’T DO IT AGAIN.
-
ok so i’m getting out of here. @jaybate-1.0, and @HighEliteMajor Give us some worthwhile topics before Purdue goes down in in flames.
-
So why do we keep saying that Lucas will guard Swanigan? He has to guard Haas. Josh or Svi on Swanigan when both he and Haas are in the game? No way LL can stay with Swanigan all the way out to the 3 pt line. And if he tries…who guards Haas? What the heck am I missing?
-
You are correct.
-
@Hawk8086 LL gets the paint plus, JJ gets Swangan outside da paint. Don’t be surprised wit da box & one…,. Maybe Painter remembers Robbie Hummel ??
-
@kjayhawks Swish !!!
-
@Bwag You got it bro… Take it to the 1st National… NOW !!
-
@Hawk8086 With a heavy dose of Coleby. Hell, bring in Bragg to do some hacking
-
Just watching the replay, looks like Bridges thought Mason have him the stinger in the beginning then Bridges tried to return the favor on the inbounds. First half.
-
@chriz CBS showed a replay of when Bridges pulled the muscle in his side while rebounding or blocking. It didn’t have anything to do with Mason. Bridges had a couple of cheap shots during the game. CBS showed the intentional shoulder bump with Josh too.
-
@stoptheflop that’s what I thought too but didn’t Bridges tell the announcer that someone hit him? Didn’t look like he did at all. Mason was probably like, WTF was that for? Lol

Someone please post Josh’s down the lane dunk. That’s my favorite highlight from this victory. Man’s game.
You mean this one?
-
@brooksmd mmph! so good!
-
@approxinfinity Did you hang around to watch the next play which was the steal and outlet pass from BIFM to DG and the ally-oop to Svi? Didn’t realize how much of a flyer Svi is.
-
@brooksmd Yup, that was a nice play too. Once we started getting out in transition in the UC game, Svi relaxed completely, and has been confident ever since. I think getting out and running gets him out of his head and making the play in transition just comes naturally. He’s had some games where his shot was off and he seemed to obsess over it, becoming one dimensional. There was another play where he followed up a missed 3 the next possession by driving the ball and scoring. I’m glad he scored it because I think he was trying to find a way to contribute after the missed 3, and the drive looked a little forced. But this transition stuff is completely instinctual/natural.
-
Josh and Vick are freakishly athletic and Devonte, Mason and Svi are not that far behind.
-
@brooksmd Many thanks Brooks. That was just as fun as the first time I say it. RCJH
