UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT DAVIS AGGIES -FRIDAY 5:45 P.M. TNT
-
@wrwlumpy Oh my…can’t take my eyes off your top pic.
-
@wrwlumpy Absolutely beautiful.
-
@wrwlumpy Love me some vino.
-
Really thought we’d be playing NC Central, but I don’t think it matters much either way.
For anyone wondering, UC Davis is separated by 3 kenpom ranking from UMKC. Both are sub 200. SHOULD be an easy win but you never know 100%.
-
Got to say, the scenery is beautiful. -Lake Davis, The Mountains , - - ummm the ummm Students lol. - -Game wise, just hope we can get through it without some kind of freak injury, give a chance to give the players some rest, actually if we just play our game I would think should be a 20 victory you would think/hope. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Friday will be Lando time. Double double for Landen. If Landen plays with motivation, he should score his season high. Everyone, including Tyler should log some floor time.
-
Glad UC Davis won.
That Moneke kid is talented, you’d swear he is bigger than 6’6 because he plays bigger than it.
Look forward to this one being a comfortable victory
-
Real nice work, I admire your taste
-
That schedule is hilarious … from Jan. 4 forward, they never left California, except for one trip to Hawaii.
-
I’m willing to bet the students didn’t go to UC Davis to watch basketball. @wrwlumpy You did too good of a job here. I’m questioning whether or not I should take some classes! We’ve got some grapes, my wine making skills could use improvement, and I must say the scenery looks awesome there! But I’ve visited California in the LA area and there is no way in Mizzou that I would ever volunteer to live there. I like Kansans, Californians are paranoid flakes; any current company aside as you obviously have good taste.
-
Okay… we are all moving to Davis. What a campus… what a school!

I’ll have to take your word for it. I didn’t make it that far down the page.
-
If there is any hope at all for Bragg to make good on his current scholarship, Friday eve is his golden chance to step up to the plate. Come on, Carlton, bite us hecklers in the bum!
-
California is quite different once you move away from the big cities, mostly LA and San Francisco and to a lesser extent San Diego, with the big Navy presence, and Sacramento… Wine Country is absolutely beautiful and I would not mind living there…whether I can afford it is a different subject. I have been to Davis and it is a beautiful school with some excellent programs as well.
-
Nice post as usual… and it’s a nice campus and nice part of the world…
We toured it twice two years ago for eldest daughter (she wanted to major in bio-med engineering) She got in, really wanted to go, but $58K a year and no scholarship help, plus they even told us they will be raising tuition every year for out-of-staters… gulp. Wisely she decided to not be in hock for undergrad and declined.
So she ended up (quite happily and WAY more affordable) at let’s just say, a KU rival school
-
@drgnslayr I don’t know if it can hold a candle to Mt. Oread in Lawrence Kansas.
-
But I want a degree in wine-making! ! !
Then I want to go on for my PhD in beer drinking!
PhD = Piled High & Deep!
-
@drgnslayr I’ll skip the beer, but when get that wine degree let me know!
-
@HighEliteMajor That’s why their campus is nice, they saved a ton $$ on traveling with in 3 or 4 hours.
-
Hate to burst any bubbles but why go to Lake Davis when you would practically pass Reno/Tahoe on the way? After I retired from the AF I was a field rep for a Dallas based company at Travis AFB. We lived in Vacaville and since we were a single car family I used to drive my wife up to her ANG unit in Sacramento for her weekend drills. One thing I do remember is that drive, which went right past Davis, was pretty flat with no lakes or mountains. So while the buildings are impressive, Lawrence/KU is far more beautiful. And far cheaper way of life.
-
UC-Davis is one of those gems that folks often don’t know about. Out of this world academics. As different from the rest of California as Lawrence is from the rest of Kansas. A campus as flat and arid as western Kansas, but only a short drive to the Bay Area and the Sierras. Close to Sacramento the way KU is close to KC. Created as the premier UC Ag/vet school, it quickly spiraled into ecology and geology also. Not visually impressive, but an intense college culture once you’re in it. The Vet school is big in both Ag and Equine. Equal of Cornell and KSU. Maybe better currently. Don’t know their hoops, but if they do something there, they aim to be good.
-
UC Davis has a Kansas kid on their team. Lansing boy Siler Schneider.
-
Kid is really good friends with Clay Young still. KU should try to get them in for a game at AFH for this kid if at all possible.

They are in the Big West which is all Cali schools except for Hawaii.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 Really? I did not know that. I thought UC Davis was in the Pac 12. Where have I been? I do appreciate the assistance.
-
Yeah it’s a one-bid bottom type conference.

@HighEliteMajor And the tone of that reply was necessary because?
-
He’s a bit feisty today.
-
I sure have a case of anxiety today. Can’t stay seated in my office. Urghhhhh!!!
Can’t we just play 6 games today and get this over with? The moving van is ready to take the trophy back to Lawrence RIGHT NOW!
-
Ha. I’m not too nervous about today. Sunday though…
-
@jaybate-1.0 Spot on. Don’t know if it still is, but was known as the “bike capital” of America (make silk purse out of the flatness). Home of the leading oenology program; has been a critical part of the growth of the CA wine industry. The Mondavi Institute there is great to visit.
-
I think a good idea would be for us to play every game like it could be our last. LOL
-
OMG! Thx for the assist. Forgot the definitive wine school!!!
Also, I think plate tectonic theory may have started there.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Well, if theory didn’t start there, certainly more practical experience than about anywhere else…
