Bracket Reveal chat. Sneak preview

  • @Blown yeah I wouldn’t want to play them. I think they can beat Purdue.

  • @Blown ISU has played well. I think Purdue will be a tough matchup with the 2 big guys…I don’t think ISU gets by them.

  • Calipari calling Bilas support of Duke out…like that.

  • @Bwag

    You mean Puke? 😂

  • Mark Few fell asleep mid-sentence

  • Is all the crying about Syracuse simply to appease the NY television market?

  • @BeddieKU23 6 BIg 12 teams, but point taken.

ISU is a head scratcher. Oh, those silly bracket makers!

  • @KUSTEVE said:

@Blown More importantly, does our team remember blowing a home game against an inferior opponent because they went through the motions the 2nd half? It’s a gift.

It also took a record shooting performance from ISU to force OT. They won’t play that well again and KU won’t play that bad again.

  • @Bwag said:

Is all the crying about Syracuse simply to appease the NY television market?

Syracuse has one of the top journalism schools in the country and there’s a lot of non-athlete on air personalities at the major networks that graduated from there so there’s an inherent media bias with Syracuse because Syracuse produced many media members .

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I’m starting to agree. We got the easiest 2 seed of all.

Lookint at MSt Record and see no good wins. They may not even make it past Miami.

If they make it to the Elite 8, I Like the chances of getting to the FF

  • @Blown Miami/Michigan State is going to be tough. Assuming we get out of the first weekend, Purdue/Iowa State is even tougher. I like Iowa State to win and get to the Sweet Sixteen. We do have the revenge factor, but if our defense doesnt step up, we will lose.

  • @Blown It has been a while since we beat Michigan State. The usually get away with everything against us.

  • We are the Number 1 Seed in our bracket. If we play like it and stay out of foul trouble, I like our chances. We are Kansas!!!

  • @CRH107 Oh yeah…Many whiners argued that Dook should’ve been a #1 seed since they played 2-3 games and won their conf tourney.

The conf tourneys are not meant to determine much. They definitely DO NOT determine #1 seeds. The committee did the right thing. They looked at the overall conference body of play for each of the 1 seeds and chose their #1 seeds. Dook’s overall body of play DID NOT make the cut. I’m so sick of people arguing that if a team wins 2-3 games in their conf tourneys they deserve a high seed.

BTW- Let’s hope the Deacons get in over the Purple Pussies. Manning and his Deacons deserve it more than KSuck.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I actually think Drew and his boys could beat Dook. We are talking Drew against Rat Face.

  • @BeddieKU23 Baylor does have a tendency to disappear this time of year. Baylor’s success will depend a great deal on the other coach’s X and O ability. Drew will not fair well against a good X and O coach.

  • Does everyone forget that it took Iowa St. setting a new school record for 3 point FG’s made just to force that AFH game to OT? It took a record setting performance for ISU combined with KU playing one of their worst halves of the year to force OT. That’s not very likely to happen again.

  • @BeddieKU23 I wonder if we could’ve won our conf tourney if our overall 1 seed would’ve been cake? I doubt it. We all saw the potential seeds in the bracket for the last 2-3 wks during our overall 1 seed. It looked hellish. In fact, the argument is the South region is the strongest bracket.

Dook and UNC getting a lot of love coming from “the strongest league” in the nation. Yet, we beat UK and Dook. But many are excusing Dook’s early half of the season with all their poor unfortunate circumstances with injuries and their coach being out too. Piss on the ACC and all but 1-2 will drop out early after the first 2-3 rounds.

    South West Midwest East

  • @KansasComet Not this year for MSU. Unless Izzo can pull a Spartan rabbit out of his hat, this is not MSU’s year. JJ plays against friends if that’s the case.

ESPN has Nova and Dook in the Elite 8. Wow, what bold predictions. Gawd, I hope the boyz show up and play their game.

  • @truehawk93

4 days changed a lot of things for how people are perceiving Duke. It was impressive they won 4 games in 4 days against good teams. Our lasting impression wasn’t great which is why we are kind of not being talked about. Had we taken care of business we would have been the unquestioned #1 overall seed.

  • @KansasComet I like the small sacrifice of losing that nasty overall #1 seed and getting some extra time to work some areas. I like the rest it gave our guys. I really think Dook tanks sooner than many realize. They can’t keep up the pace after playing like hell against UNC and the end of their year. Many of these teams, ISU included, will be gassed. I like our fresh chance.

  • @truehawk93 I am with you all the way. I just hope they don’t become a cinderella story at our expense.

  • @KansasComet I do respect Izzo. Has nothing but love and respect for the KU program and Self. He is one of those Xs and Os coaches that can work magic. But his team seems to lack something this year. For example, that Valentine team was nasty. He willed that team during many games. They don’t have a real Valentine type of player. They are good, but not Valentine good. It will even be with a Magic Johnson pep talk too.

  • There is nothing in between now. Crimson and Blue all the way to Phoenix. There is no other option.

    ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK GO KU

  • @truehawk93 If they lose to Miami, we won’t have to worry about it.

  • @BeddieKU23 Exactly. It took that horrible pressure off the boyz to prepare. They still have respect, but still have a NC to prove.

  • I choose to look at the osu game when we had the whole team together in a place we haven’t played well in 3 years.

  • @KansasComet Miami is one of those B12 type teams too. It will be interesting. We should come out on top.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Great point! Jackson didn’t play against TCU and Graham got hurt. If we don’t get a foul with 2 seconds left…how many people think we lose to TCU in overtime?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I REALLY think that OSU win was bigger than many realize. It broke a losing stigma. They proved a little something to themselves that other teams could not do over the years.

  • @truehawk93

I just hope Jackson shows up when we need him too. It was clear without him on the floor this team would not come close to 28 wins this season. We are relying on a freshman being a key part of our end of the season.

  • @BeddieKU23 relied on him all year! He’s steadily improved.

  • Remember when at the beginning of the season many in this board were calling UK overrated and that once they played Michigan State the perception would change? Well, UK spanked them by 21 and MSU never quite recovered while UK is. #2 seed. Michigan State is a middle of the pack team in the Big 10 which is having a down year.

  • @wissox I watched the second half of the Wisconsin and Michigan game. Do the Badgers normally play like they did today? I saw no real offensive scheme. It was all dribble, dribble, dribble, pound, pound, pound. If it wasn’t their guards dribbling around outside it was the center pounding the ball to back his man down. It seemed as if the whole team had velcro on their hands.

  • @Crimsonorblue22

Different in the tourney as we know. I’m sure he’ll be eager to please after what happened recently. Without his production we know what happens.

    Its BIFM time

  • The Jayhawks lost their Big 12 tournament opener to TCU without suspended star Josh Jackson. Kansas missed out on a chance to get revenge on Iowa State in the conference tournament, but might get another crack at the Cyclones in the Sweet 16.

The Cyclones, the 5-seed in the Midwest, beat Kansas in overtime in Lawrence in February and closed the regular season with nine wins out of 10. They’ll have to get past Nevada and possibly Purdue for a trip to the regional semifinals. - ESPN

I was reading the WVU ISU thread the other night. There was a butt sore Clown fan arguing against KU and get this…he was even bitching about how KU would’ve won if they played them in the B12 tourney due to Bill Self having the refs in his back pocket. He even bitched about how Huggie tried to put the refs in his back pockets, but his team proved KU and WVU wrong. What was even more funny, the foul ratio wasn’t that skewed.

Sad how fans have to depend on the officials to win or blame for losing a game.

  • @CRH107 believe bill may be tied (6-6?) head to head with izzo. But for a 82% winner, I guess that does count as crypotonite.

  • This is like a WET DREAM for me!

We probably get MSU in game 2? Maybe the Clones in game 3? Maybe Oregon or Louisville in game 4?

I’m cool with all of it! Can we really complain about that?

  • @approxinfinity Isn’t Self only 1-4 against Izzo at KU?

  • Just saw our bracket, we could have done a lot worse! Not happy about playing one of the few coaches who always seem to out coach Self in the second round, but once we get past Izzo, I like our path to the FF.

Time for our guys to show off the goods on the big stage, can’t wait!

  • @truehawk93

I like most of the teams in the Big 12. But a couple of the teams (Clones and Mildcats) have ridiculous fan bases. Too many crack pipes makes a fan base crazy. They start thinking outrageous thoughts just because they win a game or two.

  • Ha… I’m loving it.

    WSU vs Kentucky.

I am psyched for this potential game.

Also Gonzaga potentially facing WVU? Are you kidding me? Ha! Brilliant!

Purple Kitties vs Danny Manning? Danny gets another shot at the kitties. Awesome!

Duke vs Nova? Ha. So one of these teams goes home before the FF, guaranteed!

  • @approxinfinity Again, I think the OSU win is a krypto breaker. I think the krypto curse is off, even if KU faces MSU. I have Miami over MSU. I do think Miami gets the edge over a young unproven MSU team. I have Purdue over ISU. ISU doesn’t have the coaching at this level. They have the talent, but in the end, the B12 tourney took a lot out of them. I will be a little surprised if they get passed Nevada. I have KU and L’ville slugging it out in the E8. The Oregon L’ville game will be a good one. I think L’ville has the edge over the Pac12. I’d like to see a Nova KU rematch from last year.

I went over the ESPN tourney challenge and I was surprised at some of my picks.

  • Is someone setting up the buckets brackets challenge this year? Also we play Friday @ 5:50 CT.

  • @kjayhawks 5:50 Central time

  • @approxinfinity

I believe Self is 2-4 in the KU era against Izzo which to me makes this coaching match-up more problematic given Self’s overall 82% win rate. But please correct me if I am wrong.

  • @CRH107 selfs due!🔥🔥🔥

  • @truehawk93

Was just getting ready to post almost identical to yours. I too think that when Bill won at OSU, the old voodoo spells are falling by the wayside. And I too give the edge to Miami so we may not even see Izzo.

I see Purdue and ISU a toss up, and will be interested to see how your “B12 tourney taking a lot of them” stands up… both for them and conversely, how much it helps us to be rested and ready. And once agree with you, Oregon L’ville is going to be great, but KU takes L’ville down. And once last agreement - a Nova KU rematch will be awesome and paybacks are going to be hell for them!

  • @CRH107 Did we lose the last one? If so, you’re right. Well, this is the year to kick his ass when he’s down.
