##Decade of Dominance##
##Tarik Black scores 19 points as KU routs Texas Tech, 82-57##
In his final home game, Black scored a season-high 19 points on 9-of-9 shooting. The 6-foot-9 forward topped his previous season high of 17 set against Georgetown on Dec. 21.
###Tarik Black controls paint in Senior Night rout of Texas Tech###
Tarik Black’s Senior Night at Kansas University truly couldn’t have been scripted any better — or gone any better.
Black, a 6-foot-9, 260-pound transfer from Memphis, went a perfect 9-for-9 from the field and finished with a KU career-high 19 points in the Jayhawks’ 82-57 annihilation of Texas Tech in Allen Fieldhouse.
###** Andrew Wiggins experiences mixed emotions in home finale**###
Kansas University one-and-done freshman Andrew Wiggins didn’t speak to the fans after his final game in Allen Fieldhouse.
But the Canadian sensation was implored to stand up after Wednesday’s 82-57 victory over Texas Tech — before the senior speeches — by coach Bill Self, who had a throng of 16,300 give the freshman guard a standing ovation. Self also had fellow frosh Joel Embiid and Wayne Selden stand, as well as soph Perry Ellis, junior Naadir Tharpe and soph Jamari Traylor.
###** Joel Embiid, Wayne Selden Jr. noncommittal on future; Embiid’s back ‘better’**###
Kansas coach Bill Self had all his players stand one by one to be recognized by the crowd during senior night ceremonies following the Jayhawks’ 82-57 victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday.
A pair of freshmen — Joel Embiid and Wayne Selden Jr. — said afterwards that they still aren’t sure if Wednesday was their final home game at Allen Fieldhouse.

More Pics than I could put in the main posting:
-
What a awesome evening! This is such a great group of young men that represent KU. Very proud of them and the staff! 10 straight is a huge accomplishment! Keep rocking!
-
I am so happy to see that Tarik had a huge game on Senior Night. May the future smile on him big time!
-
Sorry guys, I added a few of todays headlines to yesterdays link. I don’t have time to move them, but there are several more news stories over on March 5 headlines.
-
I’m stoked for Tarik. He had such an awesome game last night and carried himself very well in an off the cuff speech last night. He’ll always be a Jayhawk, I just wish we could have had him on the court and in the locker for more than one year. Does anybody in America deserve a ring more than that kid?

At least these are better than last years March uni’s

@JRyman what??? no love for the Zubaz?
-
@HawkInMizery NO! NO! NO!
no!
-
@JRyman I agree, those things were atrocious. KU has a classic uniform leave all that crazy stuff for teams like Oregon. Thoguh the alternates we have been wearing this year are awesome. But then again they are a throwback.
-
That senior class is a testament to the changing times in college hoops. Not a major contributor to the team among them. Tarik has been a contributor, but his is a name that I will struggle to remember in 10-15 years. I hope we get back to having senior contributors to the team.

@wissoxfan83 I will always remember Tarik, good things will come to him! I will remind you about him in 10-15 years, ok?
-
@bskeet-Really nice pics bskeet. Haven’t been on Jeff’s site lately but-
Is my bud’s site & he does great sports photography for Big 12, Royals, Chiefs, SI.com, etc.
Also for one of the greatest sports artists of our time visit-
Many of his paintings & murals are on campus, CFHOF, Heisman portraits, etc. You won’t be disappointed. Ted Watts kicks butt!
-
@JRyman I think it’s funny that the general consensus is “at least these aren’t atrocious like last year.” That’s always a good sign.
Self said that we weren’t going to wear anything that other teams where anymore. I hope that’s true next year. The KU uniform could be so cool, but for some reason we get lumped in with the Baylors, Wisconsins, and Notre Dames of college basketball. I don’t like that. The model that was drawn up in January is perfect. We need to go with that.
-
Well…
The new dreaded Adidas uniforms are back in time for March madness and KU is schedule to get new unis.
Here is link to one of the many articles…
At least KU’s don’t look too hideous or say “Sic Em” on the front like Baylor…or have sleeves, like the pajama-like uniforms wore at the NBA all-star game.
-
Deal, I have a much greater appreciation of him thanks to some of the things written about him in the last few days. But it’s not just KU for me, I follow too many teams in sports and other than the standouts, the names just fade in my mind, and his is one that will probably fade.
-
@wissoxfan83 I haven’t forgotten TJ Whattley, how on earth could I forget Tarik Black? There’s just been a few more names to learn with any top tier basketball program the last decade or so.
-
I’m surprised we didn’t get “Rock Chalk!” on the front of ours. I’m sure that is next… followed by “Beak’em, Hawks!”
-
Nice!!!
Rock Chalk at least has some historical significance…and a hell of a lot more tradition and success than the Baylor’s “Sic Em.”

@drgnslayr-Well, the women’s BB team sorta has one. I mean they have the largest draw ever for a hoops contest in Waco if that counts? lol
-
@globaljaybird
The Baylor women’s team is the equivalent of KU men’s team. In the last ten years they have 4 sweet sixteen, 1 elite eight, i final four and 2 National Championships. Much better record than the Baylor men’s team.

In men it does; in women it does not.
