  @jayballer54 I put little faith in predictions… especially this early. It reminds me of preseason predictions on a National Championship. The recruiting process has been going on for DeAndre most of his life… but it will kick into high gear here shortly.

  Largest number of fans they will have played in front of tonight. Most of them from Nebraska. They had a great turnout in San Diego against USC.

  @Hawk8086 I’m with you. As long as no one else “breaks serve” then all we have to do is win one or two big away games to win the league. Everyone always says “the road to the B12 title goes through Lawrence.” Ha… truth is… it COULD go through Lawrence, but doesn’t have to. Lawrence is the toughest place for teams to win in. Let them keep focusing on that and then they lose at TT… Turns out that the TT loss is what cost them a chance at the B12 title (or to share it). And also… they have to “hold serve” at home, like when we visit. Instead… they just keep thinking they have to win in Lawrence to win the B12. Nonsense, but why should we help the rest of our league understand basic math?

  Interesting stuff! I’ve always been an admirer of Naismith as a person who acted on his Christian Faith. He once sent out a letter that the sport was becoming too physical and un Christ like and urged the game to be cleaned up. I think his plea worked, but it apparently didn’t apply to Syracuse, Louisville, Georgetown, and, ahem, my beloved Big1G!

  @JayHawkFanToo I have seen that Howard wants a trade. Unfortunately, his age and injuries have robbed him of his bounce, as @Makeshift has pointed out. In addition, the Rockets offense is much better when based around Harden’s skillset than when it is revolving around Howard. Howard probably can’t carry a league average offense at this point in his career because he can’t dominate with athleticism on that end. Howard is probably a 16 and 12 guy at this point in an ideal situation. Houston isn’t ideal for him, but he could do a lot worse before he does better. He could average 19-10 for a non-contender if he’s interested in that. Just depends on what he wants at this point in his career.

  @jaybate-1.0 I’ve never questioned Bragg’s attitude. I think he brings a great, positive attitude to the game. He has a solid skill set and potential upside, too. He is just a bit raw. He needs to take a page from the BG development book… lower his center of gravity. HS ball just isn’t competitive enough to require guys bending knees, widening stances and challenge each other by ability to properly leverage their weight and strength. He isn’t going to take 3 years to learn that like BG has taken. Bragg came to Kansas, mentally an open book, a sponge to fill with knowledge. No concept of “fools gold” ideas that a good perimeter shot will trump having to master the rest of the game…

  @drgnslayr It was a typical fluff piece w/o in depth analysis. I posted it because this was a big change by Self, who always seems to get blamed for being stubborn and inflexible. I would speculate having such good ball handlers penetrating the lane opens up our 3 point shooting when defenses collapse on our guards.

  @blackmild33 Yes, it looks like one guy switched his pick from KU to Duke…I believe that he had originally picked Alabama for Bolden before switching to KU a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it is just an isolated hunch and not inside info.
