  I was way off the mark on Garrett, bigtime glad he’s coming back. It will be interesting to see where Garrett is drafted after his senior season. Since I just brought up the NBA draft, question - how many future leaguers do you think we have on next year’s team?

  @jayballer73 As much as becoming a better shooter is important for him I think the label " better player" fits what he needs to become. Defensively he is a stud. But his ball handling, passing and decision making can all take a leap. He is a great athlete and is a great team player. I hope he can step up even further this upcoming season to lead with Marcus

  Devon needs to be prepared to spend a lot of his first couple of seasons down in the G-League. His speed and athleticism are elite even at the NBA level so that alone will intrigue franchises and buy him some time to develop. I know quite a few of people have said he needs to work on his shooting, and he does, but that’s not what will get him to stick in the NBA. There’s two areas that he can develop and become a 12 year NBA player. His passing and his defense. Dotson needs to become a floor general. If he can get himself to a 3:1 or even 4:1 Assist/Turnover ratio, Dotson will be a highly sought after player. Dotson’s quickness also means he has the potential to develop into an elite level defender in the Pat Beverly territory. In a stronger draft class, I would say it’d be more advisable for someone like Dotson to return, but as weak as this class is, Dotson’s stock is as high as it will get for the NBA so leaving this year makes the most sense for him.

  @wissox Wilt was just born too soon and left this world way too soon. Imagine what records he would hold at KU and in the NCAA if freshman were able to play and they had shot clock. Watching YouTube videos of Wilt, he would’ve dominated in any era. There is a list of about 3 guys with his size and athleticism in NBA history. I consider Wilt the GOAT and always will.

  @ajvan Most of the time I would arrive at AFH about 90 minutes before tip. One student section was behind the bench, it was usually filled, but first couple of rows behind the basket on the Kansas bench side was always open and so I’d sit there. We were much closer to the court than what it appears they allow students nowadays. So Danny grabs a rebound, I’m sitting on the right side of the court, and I watch Danny throw a length of the court outlet pass that bounces on the mid court logo and hits someone in stride who doesn’t even need to dribble to lay it in. My angle allowed me to see the narrowest of openings for him to thread that ball through. It was stupendous then and is stupendous now! That’s my favorite Danny moment!

  Addendum: I reread my post and realize that the article did discuss why the investigation was not reopened. But I am not buying the “policy-prevented-it” claim–they could have reopened upon finding that Washington pled guilty after lying when he denied it in the Title IX. Virtually all forums have inherent authority to determine if they were duped. Clearly and simply, a pack of assholes running the place.

  @approxinfinity Highlights of mine from that game. Milt Newton reverse layup early 1st half. Chris Piper shot clock beater. Dave Seeger of Oklahoma makes 6 3’s in first half. Billy Packer, the announcer keeps saying Kansas can’t keep up with Oklahoma at that pace. To me the best play of the game, right near end of 1st half Danny gets a fastbreak and Oklahoma’s star Stacy King is running after him. Danny slows down at the rim, on purpose, so King can try to block his shot, and instead fouls him for an and 1. Brilliant Danny maneuver. He missed the FT, so it wasn’t a true and 1!
