  @BeddieKU23 I feel like if KU gets Young, we are in for some very real growing pains as that would be three likely starters (Young, Newman, Preston) that have very sticky hands. The potential however if that team clicked and played team ball would be through the roof.

  Good discussion. Athletically I see BMac. Have to wait and see more games before I go any further. Next year Vick could definitely be the “guy” offensively with Newman and whoever else is left. It’s different when your the top scoring option as opposed to #4 or 5 on the scouting report. For this years team if Vick continues to have games like this,only benefits the team even further. Which guard do you focus on, any one of them can have a game like he had last night. So far Vick has exceeded my expectations as a rebounder, a defender, and chemistry within the offense. We were hoping he was going to get enough minutes this year to help us next year, he’s already starting and leading the team in scoring for a game. Self was right, he looks like the most improved Jayhawk so far

  What the hell!!! Give Frank two OAD branding games, like all the OADs (the ones good enough to start) are given. Frank would hang 40 in each game and probably ramp up to a lottery pick!!!

  I wouldn’t mind Manning being let go so that Chaundee Brown became available again Selfishness aside, I do want to see Manning make it on his own. He has a very young roster still, only 1 senior on the team that plays minutes. Woods, Crawford, Collins, are very good young players. Childress has some game. The biggest disappointment is probably Doral Moore- 7 footer who was a top 100 kid, a project type but hasn’t progressed to where Wake Forest needs him to be I agree that he’s probably safe this year regardless of how the season ends with the team being so young still.

  One of the keys to Big 12 Basketball surviving (moving forward) has to be the quality level of coaching throughout our league. A few teams may be down a bit on talent, or young… or both… but we have a nice group of coaches and if we can keep it that way, the future looks much brighter.

  @KUSTEVE My take is that Newman learned a valuable lesson, and that he is preparing to grab the brass ring next year in BIll Self’s system. What a marvelous opportunity for him this year, to practice daily against and alongside our terrific guards! He came out of h.s. as a very talented player.
