  Christ, more lament, wonder, yearning, melancholia over Conner Frankamp. In a sentence: Off court issues (drinking), gets DUI 3 weeks after arriving at WSU, overbearing Dad, and strikes NO FEAR in KU’s opponents, unlike Mason or Graham. Ive watched a few WSU games, & announcers keep, keep, keep talking about how he’s such a good shooter. They need to find better filler, as STATS (see above) prove them wrong. 6ppg in the MVC. CF apologists need to just stop. CF and Bill Self proved the sour observations correct. His dad needs to have him focus on a marketable degree so the kid can feed himself. Overseas ball? Where kids like RussRob & Langford prowl, earning 6- & 7-figs? He wont fit there either. VanVleet was faster than CF.

  Would love for a bad team to just let him play 30 minutes a game for a month and just see what type of numbers he can put up. His per 36 numbers are always insane. I’d love to see what he could do if someone would just let him get comfortable out there.

  Lol at Iowas State fans voting Morris. ISU has done nothing impressive yet this year. The 3 decent teams they’ve played they lost to. Even dropped a game at home. I think this team could be the leagues biggest disappointment this season. This is the year we find out if Prohm is really a coach meant to be in a P5 conference.

  @Texas-Hawk-10 I can only hope so. Heard once: Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent. Flipping a switch as a strategy is an iffy strategy. I should say counting on it is. I’d agree that sustaining effort to 100%, 100% of the time isn’t feasible in most circumstances.

The other was the European four power invasion of Mexico. The US Civil War can only be comprehended usefully in conjunction with the European invasion of Mexico. Great Britain was financing and enabling both wars in the early years of both wars in pursuit of a trade route agenda. Simply adding (not revising) what historians leave out always brings puzzling historical events into sharp clarity.

  If anyone really cares about the Conference of Champions. I googled it and it turns out to be a nickname the Pac 12 gave to itself. Nicknamed the “Conference of Champions,” the Pac-12 has won more NCAA National Team Championships than any other conference in history; the three schools with the most NCAA team championships belong to the Pac-12 (UCLA, Stanford, and USC, in that order).   @HawkChamp You have been saying that and I totally agree. We may not need those wins to win the Big 12 (or maybe we will), but we need to be able to execute in super high pressure situations, and that is what Morgantown provides us. I am very thankful we have Huggy in our league. The win in Okie State represents a game we may not need in conference play (maybe) and for whatever reason is a venue we historically don’t do well in. Winning a game under those conditions tells me our guys hate to lose anywhere. It tells me they don’t need a whipping stick just to get motivated… they are self-motivated not “self”-motivated! If Bill has to prod them to motivate them in March… we are toast.

  @blackmild33 I have not been impressed with ESPN’s credibility since they decided 7 pm (6, Central time) basketball games on Big Monday only take 1 hr 45 min to complete, so we always miss the beginning–and more, if OT. Football? Only 3 hrs, scheduled, come hell or high water or timeouts. It has changed me into someone wanting blowouts, which sort of ruins watching non-KU games as a general bb fan.

  Texas has more losses than the top 6 teams in the Conference…combined. Between Texas and Oklahoma, they have more loses than the other 8 teams in the conference…combined. Oklahoma lost great players but I expected them to be better. Texas has been a huge disappointment; they were supposed to be KU’s top competition and now they sit with a 6-6 record and some really bad loses to the likes of UT-Arlington and Kent State.

  @drgnslayr I have not heard that one but he did have a good story about Bill Walton that he changed over the years… I’ve always enjoyed Bill Walton. He’s his own man. You’ve probably heard this story but one time he told me he wasn’t going to get a haircut. He told me I didn’t have the right to make him get a haircut. I said, "No, I don’t, Bill. I just have the right to determine who is going to play — and we’re going to miss you." and… One day, All-America center Bill Walton showed up with a full beard. “It’s my right,” he insisted. Wooden asked if he believed that strongly. Walton said he did. “That’s good, Bill,” Coach said. “I admire people who have strong beliefs and stick by them, I really do. We’re going to miss you.” Walton shaved it right then and there. Now Walton calls once a week to tell Coach he loves him. I am not sure which one is the true one…
