  I feel his pain. We can all see his frustration at times. That’s not a good thing. He needs a “shooter’s mentality”… forgetting all the misses immediately and being optimistic the next shot will go! He’s an easy guy to set up for a trey. We should run a few easy plays to open him up. We have to show some optimism back to him to stimulate his positivity. I think if we can get him playing with more flow he’ll think less and play more in the moment. He will appear quicker, more athletic, and will nail more treys. We can be negative towards him and almost void him from our minds… but lets get real… we need him off the bench to help out! We have to continue to invest good things into him and I bet it will pay off soon!

For the 2nd Saturday in a row, down 2, we’ve had a call go against us (last week the clean steal by Elmarko and the almost sure run out to a game tying hoop) and today around the 1 minute mark a missed travel call against them would’ve given the ball down two inside a minute left chance to tie or take the lead. But Kansas gets all the calls. I’m a little puzzled by the Bill Self tech. Seemed pretty clear the kid got swiped across the head. Too many careless turnovers. Passes either telegraphed, or off target. Announcer kept telling us ISU forces a lot of TO’s and maybe they do but today they seemed to be a lot of unforced errors. Read it in the game thread, but KJ is such a liability at the line that teams are going to start fouling him so that he maybe only scores 1 or even 0. His formerly deadly 10 foot jumper seemingly has abandoned him as well. If DaJuan had scored 1 more point we most likely would have won given his when DaJuan scores 10 or more stat. Saw video of old clone fans behind the bench mocking Bill Self when he got his T. Fine with me, They’ve seen one of their teams in the FF way back when Marcus Fiezer was around. We’ve had 6 in that time period and 2 championships. If they want to look like immagure old dudes on twitter, godspeed old clones. I hate watching bigs camp in the lane without whistles. Edey does it, Hunter does it, ISU did it a bunch today. Dang just blow the whistle. Guys will learn not to do it. I just kind of wish Johnny would stop playing so well, LOL, I just don’t want him going pro which seems to be the chatter. DaJuan and Hunter are our top 3 point shooters, Johnny is 3rd. DaJuans today was impressive, I believe it was a shot clock beating swish. I don’t want him to become high volume but he’s made 18, an average of 1 a game of course, but 2 a game would be better. At this point I’m just kind of holding out hope the post season team gets hot and it turns into a memorable season. This is just feeling like one of those top 3 seed teams that gets embarrassingly run from the dance in the 2nd round which is when it always seems to happen. Rock Chalk Bucketeers! It would be nice if the post season team gets hot. We have five scoring players and if they all have a good game we total about 75 to 80 points. The important word is all. If one has a bad shooting game, several turnovers or sits extended time because of foul trouble we are going to be playing catch up without any back up. It’s already happened. Sometimes we can overcome it and sometimes we could/will get beat even if we are playing good. Razor thin and it’s gonna be an exciting trip so I’m not going to expect more than a reasonable outcome. These guys are not jerks or slackers and we might see our three bench players bail us out.

  I understand that there is potential for a lot of contact, but what used to be fouls are not called as fouls anymore. I have played basketball and had busted lips and split my chin open requiring stitches, so I know the physicality, but it seems almost too physical to the point that players are being put in harm’s way.

  Great answers , views and opinions guys. Appreciate the feed back really don’t think there is a 100 % solution/answer on either side of the fence. This is/was just my view , opinion glad to have the discussion about it. Just gets frustrating for me to see them struggle like they have. You all have valid points, I just agree a little more with benshawk08–I mean hell if I was Coaching w would never lose – I have yet to lose ONE SINGLE game from my recliner lol

Were blessed very true, plus we are very spoiled fans. We have rough stretch’s and we panic - - -me included, lots of 2nd guessing goes on , from players to Coach’s to Ma Kettle cooking possum. Like has been mentioned by BShark when you think about it every team goes through rough stretch’s at some point. Hell Kentucky lost to South Carolina last night , not only lost but got curb stomped by 17- - Kentucky is/or was the 6th ranked team and got curb stomped. Kentucky fans are ready to string Coach Cal up- -from one loss. They do that after every loss. Just the nature of fans I guess. – When we lose , just doesn’t happen that often and when we do - - people think the moon going to fall from the night sky, the Earth stands still - -It’s going to be ok , I’m telling myself that just as much for myself as anyone else , these are 19-20 yr old kids— -it happens. Like I posted earlier, saw last night that this year the top ten ranked teams have lost twenty two times to unranked teams, the most in AP history, We just got to bring our A game – night in – -Night out

I didn’t watch all of the OSU game but do feel in the last few INCLUDING the loss to UCF Juan has been hunting his shot with a few floaters and drives trying to score. And like it or not, Juan is a gamer. He rises to the occasion when he’s most needed. He single handedly flipped the script in several games on the way to and including the National Championship so he will forever have my respect as a baller. Is he a perfect point guard? No. But no one is. This team has the tools to win 6 games in March and Juan is one of those tools. He’s not a swiss army knife, but he generally does what he’s needed to do pretty well. These Hawks also have the potential to lose in the first or second round. While this is always true, this year especially, this team has some vaulted ceilings. They can look really pretty but are really far from the floor and can be a struggle heat in cool in extreme weather.

He allows the defense to get set up when he slowly walks the ball up the court, every time. I just wish he could push the pace more to put pressure on the defense, but maybe he doesn’t have the energy to play 38 minutes and there is no good backup option. Dejuan is playing slow because 3 of the 5 starters are playing 35+ mpg since the first couple of games and Hunter is playing 30+ mpg. That’s why Dejuan is playing slow. We don’t have enough depth to give anyone but Hunter a break during games so playing slow is how Dejuan, KJ, and McCullar get their quick breathers.

  I’m happy that Kevin is shooting and making his free throws with 78 made at a very nice 83.9% rate. This is 50 more makes than Hunter or KJ. Since Kevin came back to raise his draft stock, I guess, one thing the NBA tracks and values is percentage of finishes at the rim and it seems to me Kevin has an opportunity to get more “and ones” than he is getting now. No one is tougher than Kevin and he sacrifices himself every game but if he would complete say for comparisons sake two more at the rim makes and hit the free throw that adds two more points and would up his conference leading scoring average to 22.1 and get him even closer to first team AA status.
