I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
Sorry I missed you guys. They don’t broadcast Rangers’ games on radio here in Austin - it’s the Astros - and I don’t have cable to watch either. Not a fan of Rangers. Do go and watch the Triple A team they have here - Round Rock Express - that was started by Nolan Ryan and his 2 boys. Sorry they beat the Royals!
@RockChalkinTexas jb used to spar with more than one rat at the other site, but none of the exchanges were as funny as those with Ross. Hell, we all get narcissistic at times, but few I’ve ever encountered have the clever & charismatic ability to make it so witty & hilarious as ole jb. Yeah he gets windy at times, but reading him spar with Ross was like recanting a paragraph from a Shakespearean play & then a nut & bolt reference from a old Popular Mechanics magazine. And more often than not, jb displayed great reserve in the punishment he dished out. It was almost like jb was dueling with an unarmed man at times. Plus I’m here to say those exchanges were some of the absolute funniest posts I can ever recall digesting over there. Alas those days are passed & Joe stays away.-- thank Heavens. I’m quite happy the new & improved jb belongs here with our rats & Mr Joe has now secured his safe haven. Long live the King of kubuckets !!
I see ya’ll were talking about me. I did my part this weekend and went to Alex Box Friday and Saturday night and watched LSU take down misery. I actually spoke to some misery folks, and since they were undoubtedly parents of a player I was nice to them than I normally would have been.
@Crimsonorblue22 Same ole same ole. Good job getting the W !! Chris Young vs Shane Greene tomorrow night’s espn game. Young threw 5 huge no hit innings last time out & Greene has given up 20 earned runs in his last 11 innings. I think we leave Detroit still in 1st place. Catch ya’ll tomorrow nite.
@wissoxfan83 How could I forget the Shark. True. The Sox always get better as the weather warms up, so hopefully they’ll start manufacturing runs more efficiently as the calendar turns.
