  Royals need help everywhere - hitting, pitching, bullpen. They really need to 2018 draftees get developed quick to contend - Singer, Lynch, Kowar and Bubic. Lynch and Bubic are looking much better in the 2nd MLB stint though, positive sign. I am hoping to see Witt, Pratto and Melendez get called up before the end of this season.

  Sorry I missed this. I generally take issue with pitchers winning MVPs. Of course Ohtani is an exception because he’s way more than a pitcher. DeGrom, give him another Cy Young as he clearly deserves it. But don’t give him an MVP too. He impacts 30 games or so. Let someone who is on a team that will clearly play in the postseason a chance at some hardware. While the Mets are in the drivers seat in their division they have no guarantees.

  @wissox Well this is something I can definitely agree on… Analytics has changed the game away from what used to be known as “good” stats. Hitting .300 is no longer really a stat that we care about. The Mendoza line has become meaningless if you can hit 50 HRs while you do it. I do think they should work to get more balls in play, but I’m not sure how they do that without very big rule changes. Moving the mound back a few feet and deadening the ball could help. But I don’t really have an answer.
