So no Furphy. I heard Jaxson Robinson stayed in the draft. Most draft withdrawals are either returning to their school or looking for starter minutes, IMHO.
I wonder what HCBS is planning?

Apparently he stuttered as a child. Paraphrasing , he once said, “My greatest accomplishment was learning to speak - and your greatest nightmare.” RIP, Bill.
Storr has withdrawn from the NBA draft and is coming to KU.

@Crimsonorblue22 - That is a great response! Why can’t more people respond like this instead of denigrating the man because they have a different belief? Sheesh.
I’m curious as o who plays the 4 next year. At this point, it looks like KJ and Zach unless Self goes 4 out. Seems like we need an upgrade there for rebounding and shooting.
Furphy has been invited to the NBA draft combine along with Jalen Wilson.
@rcjhdraft - I believe it would take a day or so to report it if someone entered at the last moment.
How do we feel about rebounding next year?
@FarmerJayhawk said in Portal/transfer , now THIS would P - - - me off if true.:
It was more nobody on our squad transferred
But he already had a spot didn’t he?
Just curious, but has Philon officially been granted his release from the LOI?
Maybe I missed it. Is Jordan Quintance on the KU radar? He’s only 16 (?) so he had 2 years NCAA ball at a minimum. 6’9” 4 or 5. He was committed to Kentucky. 5*
@BeddieKU23 - Roach is the guy Hunter Dickinson was “recruiting” via X. HD posted a picture under his name and stated “Jayhawk”. Was Roach contacted byKU?
@mayjay - I’m of the opinion most FedEx trucks are lost which is why you see them driving around so much. Timely deliveries aren’t their forte in my experience.
“ FedEx has announced a massive $25 million name, image and likeness investment in Memphis athletics that will fund $5 million in NIL contracts over each of the next five years in key sports while promoting the company. The deal is believed to be the biggest corporate NIL partnership of its type in college athletics.” Coupled with other NIL funds, Memphis is now a bigger player.
Also, “On Thursday, safety Akili Hubbard entered the portal and on Friday defensive end Davion Westmoreland and running back Red Martel went into the portal, sources tell 247Sports.” Is there that much depth at these positions? I know RB is good.
Red Martel, freshman RB entering the portal? He’s been there 3 months.
@jayballer67 - 9 hours ago, Kugel reposted Bossi’s Tweet about Storr commiting. Lots of KU stuff on his X account.
@rcjhdraft - I was in reference to preseason when Morris, Adam’s et al, filled the rooster before anyone started leaving (or practicing).
FWIW - I’m just gonna hit the brakes here. KU had a great team on paper coming in last year and then the wheels fell off. Players left early for various reasons. I’m pumped for the upcoming season but I’m going to wait to see if any of these guys leave without playing at KU. Already rumors of a HS commit looking elsewhere. Hoping for the best but there’s only on ball on the court.
So Furph declared for the draft while maintaining his college eligibility. Said some very nice things about KU. I can’t link via the apps.
@TYOHawk - So I wonder who Harris was talking with last night?
Apparently Storr’s girl friend at Wisconsin has transferred to the KU women’s basketball program.
But UK is THE dream job. Their fans must be beside themselves.
Have the rules changed? It used to be when you hired an agent, you had to stay in the draft.
@patoh3 -“The Other Site”, quite likely 247. There are others.
I haven’t heard even one of y’all “fans” offer to marry Furphy so he can get his green card and and be paid
Excellent idea! There are some big bucks waiting. I’m already married though…
@dylans - I’m aware of that. Just saying Kansas was well and truly screwed but he is now free to attend another school and may do well. I wonder what their fans will say. I don’t know if he is truly guilty or not. It’s now played out and he has no charges against him.
Maybe NLI can get Furphy big bucks when KU plays out of the country! HA!
@Texas-Hawk-10 - Yes it can be interpreted in many ways. Most on here considered him guilty.
@benshawks08 said in Arterio Morris:
@Gorilla72 could be interpreted but definitely does not MEAN innocent.
I understand and agree. Although, I wonder if he’ll show back up in Div 1 somewhere now. Good player some coach might take a flyer on.
Read a couple of articles today saying Furphy may drop to early 2nd round and McCullar to late first. Furphy dropped because of his late season woes and McCullar due to injury.
Hawks could have used him last year and now to hear he wouldn’t have been charged. Insufficient evidence can be interpreted as “innocent”.
I’m all in for the beer idea. KU fans too, should always have free .
I’m seeing moving screens by UConn. Sometimes a straight shove.
Newton of UConn has defensive philosophy of hack, grab, pull & shove. 1 foul.
Per Sidelines-Arkansas X account “Arkansas now has 0 scholarship players on the roster and 1 incoming Freshman.” Lots of playing time available.
I’ve heard rumors the Iowa State coach Otzelnerger might be in the mix for KY, ARK or any other openings that might come up. It’s like a game of dominoes though…
@jayballer67 - if so, where he ends up will be telling. New team must have big bucks.
@Texas-Hawk-10 - one more over the next two seasons, IIRC.
Is it likely HCBS is recruiting these transfers to force decisions? If current players go for the tryouts, does he have to keep a spot open for possible return?
@nuleafjhawk - What a deal! Do you do your own laundry too?
