Well Dam , if this turns out to be fact , then we come up with a big fat Zelch in our recruitment of a PG for next year. After reading posts from TOS it’s sounding like were getting screwed in our recruitment of Nolan Hickman.
Post said that Corey Evans had changed his pick from KU to Kentucky for Hickman , and there was some other guy saying the same thing saying that Duke and Kentucky both had gotten into the picture - this would flat suck.
You can’t tell me that with the cloudy future that lays ahead of KU with the NCAA that it hasn’t kicked us right square in the jewels this Season & you can take it to the bank that these others Schools are just taking that fact and flat out running to the bank with that.
It would be so nice to have a Season where we could just focus on the game instead of having to worry year after year about the NCAA or the eligibility or other things with our players. Silvio , Cheick D. , Billy , Cliff to name a few- - When is the last time we had calm waters ? - -4-5 years ago maybe ? - - getting old real fast.

Guess we are hoping for Tamar Bates. Would be nice if Sallis just popped for UNC soon and the staff could press all-in.

Sallis is still #1 on their board for sure. Beyond that, I think they go transfer. The lack of grassroots ball this spring and summer unfortunately means a lot of guys the staff would snatch up just didn’t get discovered.

This doesn’t make much sense to me. A local kid who would be a 4 year player is they type of kid they should take in a heartbeat right now. It’s clear they can’t recruit with the big boys so Sallis is a complete pipe dream.

Oh really? Why is that? Academics or being swooped up by a different school for football. I’ve always found it weird how many kids verbal declare but switch to other programs later

I think for optics as much as production. Kids look at the kind of recruits a place gets as a signal that it’s a good place to be. Especially in football. Basketball can be more complicated in that regard since there’s the shoe circuit albatross out there.

That’s great and all and nothing against this kid , BUT I think we should be going full bore and more trying to scour the Nation for a PG.- -I think at this point we are much better off on frontcourt players then back. - -We NEED a PG - kind like how badly our football program needs a QB/- - I wouldn’t think a player like this would be a priority

Guard is definitely the priority. Sallis is in his own tier on KU’s board. They’ll run the race with Davison as well. Beyond that, may look at transfers. I expect a lot of runoff waivers.

There’s a world where Tyon (mistakenly IMO) thinks he’s a OAD, Wilson transfers or Enaruna goes pro, and all the guards come back. Lots of contingency planning.

@FarmerJayhawk I do think Jalen transferring after this year is pretty likely if he isn’t in the rotation this season which I don’t see why he would be in the rotation at this point.

@Texas-Hawk-10 we’ll see what happens after this season. There’s a path to PT for him but not one that’s particularly desirable from KU’s angle. Losing both Enaruna and TGF would be a giant kick in the nads.

Yep. KU could’ve promised him X minutes but chose not to. Not as big a push as they could’ve made. In KU’s mind he was a 4th or 5th guard type behind Harris, Thompson, Braun, and a lead guard higher on their board.

Completely agree with that assessment. Agbaji could be back to boot and I know he struggles with handling but he’d still be ahead of Bates.

Well Bates to Texas, myself probably just as well and no matter what some here may think , Sounds like the kid very well might of been a Cancer. - -I know a lot of this is because of what’s been going on - - - -He makes the comment he wanted to play for a Black Coach & then commits to Texas. - - I’m good with that

Wilson’s brother has an offer to play fb here though.
